  1. Hold your horses. This week’s games aren’t over yet.
  2. Good call! This didn't age well for ya, did it Chief?
  3. The premier high school football All-Star game in the state of Virginia has started sending their selection packages out. We found out today that one of SWVA’s representatives in the game will be a Virginia High Bearcat. Congratulations to Aaron Rose in getting the rare honor for a Bearcat. The entire Bearcat Nation (especially this Bearcat Dad) is very proud for our school to have a participant in this prestigious game. If anyone gets word of another SWVA kid getting the honor to play in this game, let’s post in this thread, so when the time comes, we can track, and support the young men who will no doubt represent our area proudly.
  4. Here is the penultimate Top 10 list for the regular season. This week saw the most moving around of any week this season. 1.Bluefield 2.Pulaski 3.Chilhowie 4.Graham 5.Abingdon 6.Ridgeview 7.Union 8.Patrick Henry 9.Galax 10.Radford OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES Richlands Mt View Grayson County JIB
  5. VHS @ Marion has been moved to Thursday 10-25. So has GC/Wise Central and Chilhowie/PH Any others?
  6. Are players from outside Graham, Union, and Ridgeview allowed to be considered? 🤣
  7. VHS is 4-4 with losses to 7-3 Tennessee High, 8-0 Chilhowie, 6-2 Abingdon, 7-1 Graham. Two of the losses were close games in the 4th quarter, two of them were close at the half. Injuries have hurt the Bearcats lately but they should get a huge piece back this week. The scrappy Hurricanes are doing what they need to do to get into the playoffs in a wide open Region D. In a game with playoff implications, who comes out on top?
  8. Another wild week should see another shakeup in the poll! 1. Chilhowie 2. Pulaski 3. Bluefield 4. Graham 5. Patrick Henry 6. Abingdon 7. Ridgeview 8. Union 9. Grayson Co. 10. Galax
  9. Since I count the votes, I’ll help the fellas out. No team gets counted more than once in any poll. If “Team X” is listed twice, they get the point total of their highest number listed. The second time that team is listed, nobody gets that point total.
  10. The board has spoken! 1.Ridgeview 2.Bluefield 3.Chilhowie 4.Pulaski 5.Union 6.Graham 7.Galax 8.Richlands 9.Mt View 10.Patrick Henry OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES: Abingdon Radford J I Burton Grayson County Grundy Gate City Marion
  11. Who has the stronger social media presence, BlueTornadoLive or #WolfpackNation? 😉
  12. Praying for the family and the entire community.
  13. Good luck to the Pioneers as well! Your nephew and the band do a great job, week in and week out.
  14. After some wild scores from Friday night, will there be a shakeup in this week’s poll? Let’s find out, shall we? 1. Ridgeview (still undefeated. Bama would drop a couple spots with a loss) 2. Chilhowie 3. Bluefield (still the best team in our coverage area) 4. Pulaski 5. Mount View 6. Graham 7. Union 8. Abingdon 9. Grayson Co. 10. Patrick Henry
  15. VHS is mired in a 3 game skid where they’ve scored 7, 6, and 7 in the three losses. I believe we were headed for some positive changes in our offensive scheming before the unfortunate injury Friday night against Graham, hence the 0-0 score in the 2nd quarter. Now we will have to wait a couple of weeks to see if we will be able to get back to that by the playoffs. This week is a toss up for me. VHS has been thin in the depth department anyways this season. They have lost 2 of their most productive players during this streak. I still believe that VHS has enough in the cupboard to get the W this week, but they will have to slow down the stud RB from Lebanon or they risk having their offensive possessions limited.
  16. Your two young family members will be in my family’s prayers! Thank you for your kind words. God is good!
  17. Thanks again to everyone for their kind words. Aaron was diagnosed with a pretty severe concussion. We did receive great news though. Aaron was born with what’s called a Porencephalic Cyst on his brain. Doctors have called him a “Wonder Kid” because an overwhelming majority of kids that are born with this affliction have Cerebral Palsy and generally do not live past their early 20s. They usually have really bad health issues their entire lives. Not only has Aaron been blessed with great health, but has been able to be a standout athlete and is being recruited by some colleges in both baseball and football. He was diagnosed with the concussion, but the doctor said that there was no change with his lesion. The power of prayer really works! We have been contacted by so many coaches, players, and parents from teams all over the region, and prayers were even asked for during the Tennessee High football game radio broadcast. There are too many to thank individually, so again, his mother and I would like to thank everyone in our SWVA football family. He has had a good weekend and hopes to be back on the field soon. God bless!
  18. Some on here know but some don’t, that Aaron is one half of the reason I am “Bearcat Dad”. I wanted to thank everyone who reached out tonight about Aaron. For those who don’t know, Aaron received a pretty severe concussion tonight in the game against Graham. There have been conflicting reports on how exactly it happened, but we do know it happened at some point during his 60 yard run on the third play of the game. On the run, there was a pretty violent collision between he and his friend Cam Allen. Aaron went back a few steps, and Cam went down as Aaron kept running. Some of Aaron’s teammates told our trainer that they saw Aaron’s head hit the ground hard when he was caught from behind. I will know more when we get to see the film. After 15 minutes, he still could not form a complete sentence so our trainer had his mother and I take him to the ER. They diagnosed him with the concussion and have turned him over to our team doctor to make his assessment on what Aaron’s standing is for the remainder of his season. Thank you again to everyone who reached out, and prayers from the board would be much appreciated by his mother and I. God bless.
  19. Yes. Concussion after the long run. Head bounced off the ground. At the ER now
  20. My pleasure, boss! I appreciate you and the other mods for letting me do it.
  21. My apologies gentlemen, for being so late in posting the results! 1-Bluefield 2-Ridgeview 3-Pulaski 4-Chilhowie 5-Union 6-Graham 7-Richlands 8(tie)-Galax Mt. View 10-Radford Others: Abingdon,Patrick Henry,Grayson Co.,J.I. Burton, Grundy, George Wythe
