The competing stadium hosted the Sun Bowl back in its heyday. Mitchell is used by high schools, middle schools, and little league. It had not been used as a college stadium for many years until recently. USA Today came up with a list of 30 unique stadiums across the United States where high school teams play (I don’t know their criteria) ; then narrowed it down to 16 for head to head voting in three rounds until the last two were standing. It all seems perfectly fair to me.

The current regional playoff setup is ridiculous in my opinion not just our region but others When teams with losing season get into the playoffs , it’s a sad state of affairs. It all comes down to $$ for the VHSL.

This will be the best game around come Friday night. It should be an exciting exhibition. Barring something crazy, it could go either way by one score.

I give the edge to Bears but yes, they need to come ready to play. You cannot take any team lightly even an Abingdon that’s not up to their usual level of play.

The mama & papa bear comes out strong in some people when their kid is done wrong. Defense mechanism goes in high gear. I don’t know what they said about the Richlands player but I think everyone including myself hoped he was alright. I’m sure they feel the same but it was an emotional night. I’m not excusing anything they may have said that was disrespectful about the other player but parenting is not for the faint of heart and sometimes our emotions get the better of us.

Hate to hear that too. Prayers for him. Don’t want to see any player suffer a season ending injury. So sorry for him.
