They had to backtrack after vilifying people who chose to not be vaccinated but I digress, lol. I take the flu shot every year but I’m not taking any injection Covid related, no thanks! I took it in the beginning because the government told us it prevented Covid. They can keep their boosters, I’m good. I do hope the Union players are well enough to play. These opportunities are short for the majority HS football players & every game a special memory at this point for Seniors especially.

Yeah, probably a Thursday game this week is better for most teams than next week with a probable tougher opponent. I just found it odd that some coaches weren’t asked if they had a preference but maybe that’s just standard procedure and a decision left to principals & ADs.

But the thing about Thursday is a short week of practice for teams where Saturday gives an extra day. I heard some coaching staffs weren’t even asked if they preferred Thursday or Saturday, decision was made without consulting them. Maybe that’s normal but it seems like you’d ask the head coach when deciding.

The funny thing is it’s usually not even Graham folks who get the Graham talk started but we’re quick to chime in when we see our name, lol. Yeah, unless Tazewell shows up with their A game and a winning mentality then Tazewell watches next week at home. If the Ridgeview that played Gate City shows up, Tazewell still watches from home even with their A game IMHO.

Saturday is a ways off, hopefully Union has enough players healthy enough to play. I heard flu season was going to be bad this year & I know lots of schools have had the flu hit already. A friend of mine entire family is battling it right now, both parents & all the kids. It spreads like wildfire for sure.

I agree, if the Beavers can pull this one off, they can win it all.

Some places 6th or 7th is still elementary school but okay 2nd year of middle school then, lol. Tony Palmer wasn’t even the coach at Graham then.

After some teams played when Hurricane Ian came through earlier this season, this Friday should be mild in comparison. A little cold & rain shouldn’t stop a game from being played. When did everyone get so soft?

Agree. I’m not even sure what the video has to do with anything or why bring it up unless one just likes to create drama. It’s over & done. Players from both Graham & Tazewell were punished for their participation in videos. No one cares anymore. End.of.story, I hope the Bulldogs can pull the win & wish them luck.

I agree, every team on any given night is beatable, Graham included. That's why I always say, one game at a time, teams can't afford to be caught looking ahead. Fortunately, I think Graham's coaches keep them focused on the task at hand. Last week, it was Marion this week Central. Interestingly, as far as Tazewell & Ridgeview, I don't really think it comes down to Creasy vs O'Quinn per say. I think it will be won on the LOS & the sidelines/press box (meaning coaching). I also think if Tazewell gets off the bus thinking they won't win, they most certainly will not. As a Tazewell County person, I hope they can pull it off but it will take their A game and the other Ridgeview team showing up (not the one from this past Friday). Good luck, Dawgs! Central has on their Twitter feed they will travel to Graham on Friday. No time listed but I presume 7pm. No official announcement by GHS yet per FB.

I can feel another thread closing soon, lol! I think as adults we can all have varying opinions on which kid we each think is the better player at any given position , QB or otherwise and doesn't make any of us more right or wrong than the other person that's what an opinion is. Adults can agree to disagree & move on, lol.

The meat of our line, Dolan & Roberts will be huge losses.

In his defense, Jones has come a ways since that first game against Tazewell. I’m excited to see the Creasy & O’Quinn showdown. I hope they are both on their A game & it’s a barn burner. I obviously want Tazewell County to come out of round 1 with two victories.

I forgot about him but he’s definitely something special. He was shining like a diamond as a freshman when I saw him play in person against Graham. You can’t teach what that kid has.
