  1. Graham 31 Bluefield 6 10:55 left in game Blevins will be sore tomorrow!
  2. Thanks! I haven't read all the posts.
  3. Somebody else at the game , did a Bluefield player take a swing at Graham coach late in 2ndQ? I might just be seeing things.
  4. Hope you're right on the score, I don't really care what the margin of victory is as long as it's a victory. I hate the rain though but at least it's on turf. Going to be a slippery pigskin. Maybe we'll get periods of rain slacking.
  5. Team Name: GMen (Original, not generic) I also like Ridgeview Wolfpack name. Team Helmet: GStar (I’m slightly biased) Tazewell helmet with Bulldog is cool. Team Uniform: I agree with another poster, Ridgeview gray on gray is sharp. Graham white jersey & khaki pants is my favorite Graham uniform. Worst Uniform: Graham’s yellow on yellow!!! Bad, bad mojo 😂😂 ; substitute maroon pants then I’m good.
  6. https://wvva.com/2021/10/07/mask-mandate-will-be-in-effect-for-beaver-vs-graham/ Doesn’t apply to athletes
  7. I really hope they never wear those uniforms again, bad mojo! If they would get different color pants, I’d be okay with yellow jerseys. Yellow on yellow = yuck!
  8. Has Bluefield even played enough for anyone to know their strengths & weaknesses? VA played in the spring so there was just a small lull in football but since WV played last fall , it’s hard to remember what Bluefield had or is expected to have back. I’m sure there are some that can speak to Bluefield’s strengths and weaknesses, Do they have depth? Speed? Etc. I’m just not among that crowd that knows those answers, lol. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in on the thread. My mindset is always, it’s Bluefield , it will be tough game. Graham is sometimes their own worst enemy but it’s later in the season and not the first game. I hope that works out to Graham’s favor. Has Bluefield had enough time to get back to it? Did most of the conditioning from summer & August dissipate during September shutdown? Then you have to consider, it’s home game for Bluefield which means WV officials 😂😂. So many question marks 😂😂
  9. I took his statement to mean “green” with envy in reference to parents complaining about playing time not actual various shades of green. Maybe I misconstrued the post. I’ve never really paid attention to colors at other stadiums & if they match.
  10. Isn’t that what happened to Harris Hart too? Parents?
  11. I thought Tazewell Co parents that go to board members and principals over playing time and such are ridiculous but going to VHSL takes that to a whole other level. Those parents can stay in Tazewell 😂. But yeah, Creasy & Harris can come 460E 😂😂😂.
  12. Wow, Radford has played 6 games. I dare say not many teams across the state can say they’ve gotten 5 in yet much less 6. Those with 5 going into week 7 are fortunate.
  13. I don't think any seed in any region in any class is a lock at this point with the Covid crap shoot of a season. Lucky is the team that hasn't had players quarantined, missed a game, or had practice shutdown completely. We could end up without the best teams making a deep run depending on how things shake out with quarantines, shutdowns, etc. the next few weeks. It's truly up in the air. A team could think they're playing all week long & then get cancelled or postponed on a Thursday. Crazy , frustrating season!
  14. Much respect for Coach Osborne, absolutely a decision that was in the best interest of his players. Hopefully, they’ll be able to play some more games. This season is nowhere near “normal” and may next fall be better & everyone’s numbers up.
  15. Both teams have some talent, Webb obviously is the biggest asset for Richlands. If Creasy & Harris keep clicking, it might be hard for Richlands to manage a win. Mullins kid has had some good outings too. Richlands did better last night against a tough Ridgeview as far as not giving completely up. Tazewell could win by a couple TDs or it could come down to the final seconds. It’s going to be an exciting in county rivalry game regardless, Good luck to both teams.
  16. I believe in most places it’s 5, maybe 7 in some states now but 5 seems to be the norm. The former Bluefield girls basketball coach I believe did the same, retiring from WV & going across the state line to Bland County. It’s a smart move if someone wants to put in more than 30 years. Right now, education is tough gig for everyone.
  17. I know him well and he’s a great coach and like all great coaches, he knew when the time was right to move on…I wasn’t implying anything about his coaching abilities. He probably saw ahead of what others are just realizing, talent isn’t as abundant as it once was and his coaching staff had lost some of the ones who had been there by his side for years. He realized it was taking a downturn and wanted to leave before that happened. I think he made the absolute best decision for himself going to Loris and I’ve never wished him anything but the best.
  18. I don’t have a dog in this fight but man oh man, if Graham wasn’t playing Bluefield, I’d be tempted to go to this one. Union & Ridgeview, different offenses but their defenses are tough. Can Ridgeview stop Lomax? Graham couldn’t do much with him. How do you all see this one shaking out?
  19. No prediction here except it could go either way easily. Neither team has played a full schedule or had consistent practice schedule due to Covid this season. I hope both come out ready and it’s a competitive game. I think there will be a good crowd but not a 10,000 kind of crowd if it had been played in August. Kudos to Bluefield to moving things to play us after we were put on Covid protocol at the beginning of the season.
  20. Unfortunately, that’s happening to a lot of teams. It’s hard when a team has limited practice & no games but it didn’t affect Thomas. He had a great game.
  21. Twas no running clock in Spotswood tonight…lots of TDs & turnovers but not even close to a running clock. Thomas had a phenomenal outing though which isn’t surprising.
  22. Taking nothing from Mance but they were headed the wrong direction before he left & maybe he read the tea leaves and left before the program fully imploded.
  23. Almost bit off more than they could chew, without Thomas it might have been a massacre & without a bajillion turnovers for Spotswood.
  24. Absolutely not, hopefully they turn it around!
