  1. After last week's close call, I think Honaker comes out and makes a statement that Region 1D runs through Fuller Field. I think Honaker big and its out of hand by halftime. 56-14 or something like that.
  2. Give me Alvin Mack and Lance Harbor. Both with working ACLs and no leg injuries. Also heard Tweeder was going to Tazewell to beef up stats with their pass-happy game plan, Already been voted President of the FFA too.
  3. Usually the transfer talk doesn't start until after the season is over, but with one more week in the regular season, this is crazy. Recruiting has no offseason.
  4. According to Four Seasons, 2014. Streaks always come to an end tho and I know that Graham is the darling of this board. Every season and team is different tho. Like I said, Graham is expected to win so give me Tazewell for pure chaos.
  5. Expert analysis. I bet you put money on one team on FanDuel, while betting the other team on DraftKings. Hey, cant lose right.
  6. So one bad half of football is hard to overlook. What about the sloppy game against Bluefield to open the season, or the struggle win against VA High for Graham? Does that factor into your decision, or better yet, your "guess"? Not too mention the first half in a torrential downpour with multiple pauses in play, that they eventually won with forced turnovers, defense, and a wide open offense, that happened in early September while we are now in late October? And with that logic, for how "good" Richlands played in the first half against Tazewell, why are they still looking for their first win? Like I said before, I don't get the hate on the Bulldogs that is on this site. Even if the Dogs win, I'm convinced most on this site would say it was more Graham losing than the Dogs winning. So give me the Dogs, just for pure chaos.
  7. Does this ramp up the retirement talk now? The final milestone is a stellar career full of accolades?
  8. Kids these days would much rather have a wide open offense rather than three yards and a cloud of dust. Some sort of spread, regardless of run or pass-based, will garner more players from the hallways. That basketball player on the fence about playing is more likely to come out and play as a wide receiver than as a back in the Wing-T. Yes, there are exceptions like Riverheads. But for the most part with dwindling populations, you gotta be at least somewhat balanced.
  9. Extra long cleats wont matter on that turf tho
  10. First off to the "way the cookie crumbles" quote and attitude, that's how you get ants. Coaching wise, the job itself has and could attract candidates. The issue here is pay from the county and county politics. Tazewell County pays far less than surrounding counties, yet my source is only word of mouth. I would like to see some evidence. County politics, especially in Richlands, fall along the "good ole Boy" system, which has bitten them way more times than it paid off. Plus, Richlands wants to win now, and that ain't happening. They are the third best team in Tazewell County and the separation from two to three is widening everyday. Thad Wells killed that program, I will just say. Disagree all you want, but my evidence will outweigh yours. Even Mance struggled early on and people were calling for his job. With that said and seeing how down Richlands players are going thru the motions, I'll pick Marion to play ball control and pull out a win. 21-7. Richlands will break one big play to go for a long touchdown but wont be able to stop Marion upfront from gashing them in rushing yards and YAC.
  11. My bad, I skipped over it when I looked at Four Seasons. V-High wins this year.
  12. Virginia High hasn't beaten Richlands this millennium, not since the 1999 season. With that said, Bearcats come away with this one IMO.
  13. More onside kicks in this games than all others combined! After seeing both teams play, gotta take the Dogs in this one. Unless Marion moves the big guy out to cover receivers, I don't see Marion doing anything to the Dogs' passing attack. But im sure someone will jump on me not saying anything about running the ball. Even Harris said it Friday night, like 8 different players touched the ball from a pass by Creasy. Not the traditional balance, but a new school of balance.
  14. I like Honaker. This will be their biggest test so far. But I see them pulling away towards the end. Best thing Narrows can do is play ball control.
  15. Are they not playing the current system that best suits the kids they have?
  16. As is Tazewell being better than their record shows. I will never understand all the Tazewell Bulldogs hate on this site.
  17. You don't have to run to set up the pass. This isn't the 1980s and they are not a Wing T, Power I offense. I see plenty of RPO, spread, and Air Raid in that offense. Spread them out and the running lanes will be open. Despite what the scores were against Graham and Ridgeview, VA wasn't busting at the seams with offense. In fact, I think it was more Ridgeview and Graham having off games than VA High keeping it that close. I'm taking the Dogs over the Cats. Gonna need see the spread before I place a bet. But I'm taking Creasy in Fantasy points.
  18. Dude is right. Kids, parents, and society have changed. If your program is established and been on a roll as of late, its easier to get kids out. If you have been down in the dumps, attendance falls, critics get louder, and being hurt turns into "injuries".
  19. Two questions. 1. What old school ideas on fundamentals and discipline do they have? 2. What’s some of the new school ideas on fundamentals and discipline that you have ?
  20. True, but does he want to be a head coach or would he even leave his spot at Honaker. I know I wouldn't want to be a head coach. And they will always look into the county first, and I don't see anyone.
  21. I will say this. The hiring of Thad Wells set the program back at least a decade, if not more. Wells was never going to stay past 3 years before he jumped (look for him to leave LCA soon too). Now I am not saying Wells is not a good coach, but he did not bring anything new or innovative that Mance hadn't already done, so he didn't move the program forward or even laterally, just slightly back. And I know it was the Covid spring season, but that team did not look great. Plus, that pushed out Ronnie Davis, who should have gotten the job. Snake Palmer might have even come back from Graham at that point. This could have been avoided long ago. Tarter is a great Special Teams coach, positional coach, and assistant, not a head coach. So, assuming he resigns at season's end since high school coaches rarely get straight up fired, who even applies for 2024? And who does the county even consider given the politics?
  22. There was a wet field in Grundy last year, and the Bulldogs kept passing and Grundy is who turned the ball over.Grundy has not looked the best compared to recent years but the PH game was eye opening. The Honaker game last week was a butt whooping and they had some players out, so I wonder if they will play or not. Dogs just need to tackle with their bodies, not so much their arms. They have all the tools in the toolbox, just gotta build something. My biggest takeaway is that they always come out so flat and dead, almost like they just don't want to be there. With all the community support, they should be hyped like no other team. Can't always wait till the second half. And back to the tackling, they tackled well against Riverheads, but yet have mailed it in against the worst Richlands team in forever, Fort Chiswell, and Princeton? I could see the Bulldogs coming out hyped and rolling early, but at the same time, I could see this being a barn burner of a game. Ask me again during warmups before kickoff.
