We are under way!!! Please post scores here.

Graham has added some excellent coaches to the staff. Ronnie Davis and Yubrenal Isabelle this year. Mike Horton is back as the strength coach (huge for them in the weightroom). Those kids work extremely hard and are in great condition. Palmer says this is the strongest team he has had since he took over (in terms of physical strength). We will see how that translates on the field. Watching some of the videos out their of their weightlifting sessions, they seem to have some big ol boys on the line this year. Add a physical quarterback like Blevins and I believe the runningback may be Reed, who goes about 255 and that's a powerful offense. Not sure who else is at RB, Reed may not be the main guy, hopefully they will have a change of pace type back, that's one thing that they may lack, but I guess we won't know until kickoff.

I like that you used the term permutations rather than combinations!! Excellent!!

Question about transfers for this year.

This is all I have seen in writing about it, it refers to Virginia kids transferring back to Virginia. The VHSL most likely will not respond to an individual asking such a question, I'll take your word for it. The fact West Virginia plans to play its regular schedule and so does Tennessee has prompted concerns that players could transfer to those states or go to private schools in order to play in the fall. Tom Dolan, who deals with eligibility questions for the VHSL said players could do that and be eligible but could not return to Virginia and play spring football. -

The coaches in my area put kids, character and integrity first. -
I think Graham will have a new look. Big and Physical is what Im hearing. Plus the home-run threat of Bradshaw. Not sure if they will have another speed guy. Can't wait to see them play. I'll be watching Tazewell vs Riverheads and Graham vs Richlands that day.
-
Just checked the Riverheads high school website and saw this: Apparently, it will be on NFHS. Probably hasn't been posted yet. NFHS Live Streaming Information: *Due to limited spectators at home events, live streaming will be provided for the certain athletic contest through the NFHS network. The NFHS network will allow you to watch RHS events - home/away - throughout the Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. In addition, it will allow you access to additional schools throughout the state of Virginia that have the system.

I'll check to see if it will be on NFHS since it is at Riverheads. All of the home games will be on NFHS for sure. I haven't seen the Graham vs. Richlands game posted yet either. Could be that somebody just hasn't put it in the system yet. I see that Riverheads has some other games upcoming. Hopefully, it will be in there soon.
-
According to the RiverHeads folks, the line will be big, but inexperienced and they have some key skill players coming back. Other than that, that's about all I have heard.
-
Some school Divisions are doing that. Maybe they will do that in the SWD too. But haven't heard that they will. Thanks for the info.

The 250 includes the band and cheerleaders. The players get 2 tickets each. Best bet is to get NFHS until Ralph changes his mind.

Question about transfers for this year.

Where have they said this? Where is it written? This is exactly why I asked the question. The only rule changes I have seen in writing have been about covid. Please show me where I can find this information. (Not trying to be sarcastic). -

Nobody around here is going to play a kid without checking with the VHSL first. -
Bears win!!! Awesome job, congrats to the players and coaches for a great game plan!! Bring home the hardware Bears!!

Sometimes the refs become a bigger part of the game then they should. A lot of nerves out there tonight too. State semis.
-
Unfortunately, it's pretty common at the high school level.

Can't get into a sprinting match with Radford. Keep playing the half-court game and good zone defense and they have a shot to win this game.

Question about transfers for this year.

No problem, just overly clarifying myself. I disagree, however. I believe a kid should be able to play a full season, if transferring from another state. -
Union is starting to get away from their game plan. Playing a little out of control. They need to settle down and start playing their game again. They don't need to run with Radford, that will only turn out badly for them.

agree.

Union putting on a defensive clinic. Playing that 2-3 zone to perfection. 22-12 Union at half.

Question about transfers for this year.
Real Sasquatch replied to Real Sasquatch's topic in SWVA Football
Some teams in WV and other states only played 4 game Some played less. Some played none at all. Nobody said anybody quit anything. I'm just posing the question. I don't know. I'm saying, that I don't see anything that the VHSL has put out for this year would stop that. People move from state to state, change jobs, want better opportunities for their kids, etc. Kids move with parents, they don't just up and move by themselves. I didn't even say it would be somebody from WV. From the rules they've used in the past, I think they would be able to play. Again, refer to my original post, I don't know of anybody in this situation, just putting it out there to see if anybody knows if there has been a change for this season or if a kid would be eligible in this particular scenario. I am not the know-all end-all by any means about this, but I don't see anything in writing to stop it from happening. VHSL rule changes for football this spring were mostly about safety measures for covid, cleaning footballs, etc... For that matter, a kid from Virginia could transfer from another school in Virginia prior to the playoffs and "quit" on their team as you say. There was a rule put in place in 2017 to keep kids from transferring after the regular season to play for somebody else in the playoffs. Up until then, kids could transfer to another school in Virginia during the playoffs. So, yes. "I believe", that they would be able to play. How in the heck did this get turned into anybody quitting anything? -

Yes, they can. As long as they don't exceed 10 games total (regular season). I don't think the VHSL has made any changes for this year.
