If Graham comes out and plays that sloppy tonight, they will go home with a loss. You can't have all those mistakes and expect to win. They were very lucky that Bluefield had an equally sloppy game.

Hate that for him. He is a great kid. Hope for a full recovery for that young man.

Yeah, line is still healthy and in- tact. I wanna see how Gibbs plays against Galax at OT. I believe he will be good to go on Friday. The receivers are healthy, it's the Running Back position that will stretched thin for Graham. Jennings is a very capable backup for them and I believe that Isabelle and Raley both have a little experience carrying the ball, if needed in a pinch. Going to be interesting to see how this game goes.

Graham may have to trust the pass. Clements, Floyd and Hughes all were injured in the Bluefield game. Not exactly sure of their status or if-when they'll be back.

Currently, that is debatable.

Union might give them a run in region D, if they don't get their act together soon, that game is coming in week 4. If Clements is out, the next man up for Graham would be Jennings and I think he will do just fine. I do believe that if Graham cleans up the mistakes, then they will be hard to deal with, just because of their size, depth and speed. The line has some new guys who let Bluefield get up under their pads and push them around, but they are big and strong and just need to work on technique. I'm interested to see how Gibbs does at OT, I think he will be able to play this week. The tackling needs to be better and of course the center-qb exchange. The million penalties for illegal formation need to be worked on by the coaching staff as well. As far as talent and depth, Graham has all the pieces, just gotta put them together. We'll see how it goes. Some good teams in 2A this year in Central - Woodstock, Riverheads, Appomattox, King William, Staunton River, Glenvar, Radford, Luray, Poquoson, etc... They will need to improve quite a bit to match up with the big boys by seasons end.

Bluefield stacked the box and dared Graham to throw it. Much like Central did in the state title game. I think this might be what other defenses will try to do, Bluefield was effective at it.

I thought Bluefield had an excellent game plan. The early season penalties and mistakes hurt both teams. I graduated from Armchair QB U. with a degree in "What were they thinking?"" with an emphasis on "Time for a new coach" and Bluefield did exactly what I said they should do in my keys to the game a few days back, if some of you other couch coaches recall....not to brag or anything.

I seriously underestimated Bluefield based on their scrimmages. Both teams have a lot to clean up. If I see another yellow flag and hear the ref say "Illegal formation" one more time this season, I'm gonna lose my mind. I bet each team had 15 penalties tonight. The qb-center exchange for both teams needs fixed and the tackling for Graham has to get better. Good news is it is early and there is a ton of potential for the G men and I'm sure the coaches will get them where they need to be. A win is a win, no matter how ugly. Good sign for Graham was Clements putting some weight on his knee on the sideline after he got hurt.

Agree. Bluefield is stacking the box and sealing the edge, making it difficult to run the ball. Poor tackling on defense by Graham. Beavers look much better then in their scrimmages. Nothing fancy, taking it straight at Graham and out-hustling and out physicaling them. Bluefield playing with a lot of heart and determination.

How do you all think the weather will hold up? Prediction: Graham has too much size and too much depth on the line of scrimmage for the Beavers and just as much, if not more speed. G - men should be able to push their way down the field Graham wins and turns the tables on Bluefield. It'll be Graham in Bluefield's head for a while.
