  1. Graham had 16 penalties. Ridgeview had 4. Not sure of penalty yardage. Over 100 for Graham for sure
  2. Miles Raley did an excellent job at linebacker with this adjustment.
  3. They did put him in motion a few times, but not nearly enough. This was exactly what the crew I was sitting with were discussing at the game. It was a brilliant move by Graham and baffling why Ridgeview didn't try to adjust to get the ball to him.
  4. I agree, wasn't aware that the zoning issue had been resolved.
  5. I believe it will happen sooner rather then later. Pandemic money will pay for the turf and possibly a track (as long as it is labeled properly to receive the funds). the town of Bluefield may be able to help with the grand stand and seating. Zoning is the big issue right now, but they are trying to figure out a way around that. The county could finance the grand stand and visitor seating, once the field is in place (which is going to happen), if they had to.
  6. Like Blacksburg? Dropping Princeton at the time made a lot of sense. But Graham and Princeton would have been a good match up this season.
  7. Tazewell County needs to do a lot to improve athletic facilities in the county. There is not a regulation track in the entire county, despite having successful track teams (Tazewell - with multiple individual state champions) recently. The football stadium at Tazewell, could really use an upgrade and some improvements. They haven't had a regulation track for as long as I can remember, the kids have to always be on the road to compete and cannot complete in front of their home towns. Not sure how it gets done, the county usually has barely enough to keep the normal day to day operations going. Closing schools may be the only option in the future for nicer facilities. Perhaps there is some federal money out there that can be accessed? Private organizations helping out? I don't know how it gets done. I do believe that the town of Bluefield, Va. is willing to step in and help out Graham's situation as they did with the gyms behind the high school. Maybe Graham gets a new stadium in the near future, Tazewell gets an upgrade and a regulation track (which would be the only regulation track in the county). And my pet peeve is that each one of the schools need a good pressure washing.
  8. I think the process is already in place for Graham to have a stadium of their own, it will take a few years to come to fruition, however. I do believe that the town of Bluefield, VA wants to help this happen also.
  9. Again folks, tip your waiters, the next show will begin shortly.
  10. I agree with this. Graham can throw when they need to. They haven't needed to. However, they have been successful when they do pass.
  11. Graham loses a lot on the line after this season, but I'm sure they will be building some linemen in the weight room. They do return a lot of skill players next year and have some good looking athletes coming up from middle school. First things first, however. Hoping for a strong finish for Graham this year and a healthy squad the remainder of the way. Appomattox has an outstanding team and is a huge hurdle for Graham to get past next saturday
  12. Agree. Pennix is very similar to Clements. He is a play-maker and was the difference for them in the Glenvar game. I think Appo can pass the ball, but not nearly as pass oriented as Ridgeview, they run first and pass 2nd, very balanced team that Graham will be facing. I think having everybody healthy is big for Graham this year. Sawyers makes a big difference for Graham on the edge. I believe that the lineplay for Graham has the edge on Appomattox, but Appomattox has enough athletes to compensate. Should be a good one. That power-run for Graham is something else, I love to watch them run that formation. Not going to make a prediction, because Smith always makes the most of what he has and Graham's coaches have proven to be very good at game planning and adjusting as well. Can't wait for this game. Glad Graham has homefield advantage, maybe this year, the city of Bluefield won't let Appomattox practice on the field the day before the game like last season. They should have go go somewhere else, like Princeton or Richlands. I know it's courtesy to let another team practice nearby, but you have home field advantage for a reason. Tazewell County pays for Graham to use that stadium, Appomattox shouldn't get a chance to practice on it for free. I think the deciding factor in this game will be if the Appo QB can use his athleticism to escape and adjust to the pressure that Graham will undoubtedly bring to him. He is a sophomore, he is good, but can he handle that kind of pressure. If he can, could be a long day for Graham.
  13. He'll be here all week folks, be sure to tip your waiters
  14. They were mouthing at the officials the whole game, you would have thought it was a basketball game.
  15. Hughes did a good job bumping Beavers at the line of scrimmage and Graham doubled him up.
  16. Illegal use of hands was the call. I guess he intercepted it with his hands illegally or should I say hand. That was an amazing one handed interception that got taken away. I was sure offensive interference was gonna be called on that play, the offensive player was all over his back
  17. Crazy series of events there. That looked like deliberate bad calls.
  18. I've been home for about 30 minutes now, and the refs just called another hold on Graham...
