  1. Yes, very good group of young men. Respectful and good character. That's what it's all about.
  2. In all my years watching High School football, I don't think I've ever seen a kid faster then Dominick Collins. Marquel Lowe isn't far behind.
  3. I agree, if they try to throw it 40 times, they will lose.
  4. Riverheads, Princeton and Graham were all pretty physical. I think Unions D Line will be a little more physical then those 3. Hopefully the Bulldogs learned a lesson or 2 from those games. Gotta adjust and not just do the same stuff hoping it works.
  5. Most teams, I'm sure will try to get a ton of pressure on Creasy. Dogs have to play smart and get rid of it quick, run the the big dogs and do some quick outs and screens to slow down that rush. If they just go shotgun and try to throw the ball deep, they will be in trouble. They don't need to even try to run wide either, off tackle with the big boy package when running the ball
  6. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/highschool/2023/11/12/virginia-high-school-football-team-wins-104-0-but-the-end/71561605007/
  7. True, special teams have looked very good. I would just let Nash kick it deep, into the endzone or have it fielded deep in the opponents territory. Graham has the special teams players to make plays, a few mistakes here and there, but they have been consistent in that area. I really like to watch the freshman Campbel Fix on those special teams and Gage Palmer on defense. Those guys get after it, for freshmen. The rest of the team needs to take notes on the energy that Fix brings to the game and they need to watch the great technique that Palmer uses when he tackles.
  8. The speed that Graham has getting to the ball on defense seems to have improved as the season has progressed. They just seem to be swarming on every play lately. Their achilles has been the offensive line all season, I think, but I suppose you can expect that with youth. The eye test early on made me think they would manhandle opposing lines, but I didn't factor in that youth. They have improved, but as I have mentioned before, not sure it's enough, especially as the playoffs go on. Teams with older, more experienced kids on the line have an advantage. Graham can match athletes with anybody around and will most likely have the best athlete on the field (maybe 2 or 3) against anybody they play. However, ball games are won on the Line of scrimmage. We'll see soon enough if Graham's line is up to the task.
  9. The Bulldogs could have some success running, with Taylor and Alley (or Zeigler behind one or both), if they run off tackle (not just against Union) and have one lead block for the other. I would love to see them try to run a power game behind J. Taylor and G. Beavers with Alley or Taylor lead blocking for the others. I swear, if Creasy is getting pressured, or goes out like in the Graham game, they should abandon the pass with the backups and that wildcat stuff (they looked confused and out of kilter). Keep it simple, line it up and play smash mouth with those 2 imposing RB's. Heck, if nothing else, it'll keep you from getting blown out in an adverse situation, could pay off. I really wish they would have used Alley a little more offensively this year.
  10. I agree. Clements will get 150 before halftime and will be pulled. GC doesn't have the speed to match Graham's speed. Over by halftime. Can't key on Clements either, Edwards & Co. will make you pay. Having a healthy Clements makes Graham much more dangerous
  11. I think the new crew for Bluefield is very good too.
  12. Union is more physical then Graham.
  13. Well, it is "Bulldog Radio Network" that did the broadcast.
  14. Personally, I miss the days of 4 teams making the regional playoffs. Back then there were 4 Regions and only 3 Classifications, so only 12 making the playoffs in each classification. It was very difficult to make the playoffs.
  15. Yeah, they will have to get rid of it quickly against Union for sure.
  16. Here's my broken record talking again, if Creasy has protection, this game will be closer then expected. If not, long night for the Dogs. I think they could have some measure of success running an unbalanced line with 77 and 52 and #6 lead blocking if Union is getting pressure on Creasy. They have got to take the pressure off of him in big games. The opposing teams know that the offense relies heavily on the qb and when he is out. there is a huge dropoff.
  17. Late November -1984 - Blacksburg. VA. 0 degrees with a wind chill of -25. That was the coldest I have ever been at a ball game. Close 2nd was in 2002 -2 with a wind chill around -10.
  18. Agree. Appo has enough talent to knock them off if Radford doesn't play smart.
  19. I hope that becomes a thing of the past. The Bulldogs have "not shown up" on occasion the past few years.
  20. He was picking Riverheads apart and had just ran for 40 yards before getting pile drived on his already injured shoulder in the 1st quarter against Riverheads. I don't count that one. Against Princeton, they put him under tremendous pressure too. He has the utmost personal character and is a very respectable young man who doesn't get into one ounce of trouble either, the kind of kid you want leading your team win or lose.
  21. I say it each week, if the line can protect him, he will do great. The kid is a great athlete, very smart and football savvy. Joe Montana (exaggerating, of course) wouldn't have fared much better with the kind of pressure that Graham put on him in that game.
  22. Yeah, Ridgeview was getting Chippy by the end of the 3rd. Get the starters out and don't risk personal fouls by retaliation or getting somebody hurt.especiallyl when the other team is being a little reckless
