At what point is enough enough? Can you point to a year a M7 team got in that shouldn’t have and a SWD team was let out? Why are you all opposed to expanding the football system? You cool with letting inferior teams in?

Losers gone lose, y’know? All I want is a fair system. Why not expand the football system to other sports. In baseball the SWD is going to get screwed in basketball the M7 is getting screwed. Time for the principals and ADs to get off their rears and come up with a system. It’s a win-win. These out of district games now mean diddly squat. With some point system every game means something, you may get a better gate and you’d have a much fairer seeding process. Currently, the whole thing is biased. It’s good enough for football but we won’t waste the time doing it for other sports. Call it trolling, I call it wanting what’s right.When VA High gets seeded below some sorry M7 baseball team that will be as wrong as this is.

Grundy won’t lose again in the regular season and I think will win the region. That being said 1A and 2A is a different animal.

Grundy lost on a neutral floor to Lee who will at best finish third in the M7 and could finish as low as fifth.

Grundy is a very good 1A school. That being said, I wouldn’t expect them to beat some of the better 2A teams in our area.

This could be ugly. With Graham’s loss to Grundy tonight it’s becoming more clear that six teams in the M7 could contend in the SWD. Yet, 4 SWD teams have to make it. Why do we not have a points system like football for other sports? This year it’s the M7, next year it could be the SWD. Why are we not rewarding the better teams?

Central by 15-20. Hayes is the best all around player in SWVA. Wise should put him on Whitaker, that’ll shut him down. Quite frankly, I’m not sure how Lee is going to guard McAmis or Hayes. It’ll take a horrible shooting night by both for Lee to have a shot in this one. Hope they have some good officials in this one could be a really physical game. I will add Central may have some fatigue from Arby’s and I guess this could be a trap game but, this is a team they should routinely hammer.

I think that’s the second time. I recall them winning on a buzzer beating shot five or six years ago. Like the rest on here I’m anxious to see how the county supports this guy. He’s clearly got them going in the right direction.

Why not use the football playoff system for everything? If the SWD is better let them get more teams, I’ve got no problem with that.

We all know about GC, Central has the best team they’ve ever had, Abingdon is playing great under Williams, Lee is off to a 7-1 start, Ridgeview has athletes running all over the place and Union is 5-2 despite playing a bunch of freshman and sophomores with one junior. Some team that should make the regional tournament is going to be left out.

Really need to come up with a different system for playoffs. The last place team in the M7 could make the regional tournament if they were in the SWD.

If Richlands boys team wins the SWD, it’s a bad league. The M7 has 4 teams that are 10-15 points better.

Grundy lost to Johnson Central KY. Union’s Mason Polier took home an individual title.

Union finished 2-1 in the event to move to 3-2 on the year. Outside of GC, I’d say we’ve played the most difficult schedule in the area to this point.

I don’t think they went that far. Think they lost in like the round of 8. They won their region last year. If Union ever starts rebounding the ball, we’ll be alright.

Pretty nice win for Union. Johnson Central is a good program.

GC is tough, offensive rebounding won the game not officiating. With that said, when you shoot 30 foul shots in the second half and your opponent is called for more fouls in a half than you are the whole game a 3 possession game gets sideways.

GC has never lost to Central. I’ll have to see it to believe it. If Central does win it’ll be a one year deal. With what GC and Union had in JV last year, it’ll be a long time before Central wins in boys b-ball again. They better enjoy this year.

It’s on life support and the plug is being pulled when it comes to competing for regional titles or more. Folks were celebrating this year’s senior laden team and it won what 4 games? GC should just accept being the kings of roundball and move on.

Harry Fry ain’t walking through that door. GC is a basketball town (nothing wrong with that at all) now.

Ridgeview offensive line receives no love. Probably ran for more yards as a team than anyone in the state. Can’t get a guy on first team out of M7/Cumberland. Yet, Burton, Lee, Central, Battle and Abingdon all get a first teamer and RV beat them all.

Foul after the shot on Eastside then it got chippy. Both teams got a tech. From that point on union controlled the game.

Union started two freshman, two sophomores and a junior. This group is going to be good in a while. Bad night for Eastside, really struggled offensively. Had the game in hand, tried to punk the young Union kids and they responded. Led to a double technical and from that point on the Bears dominated. Maybe for the first time ever, Eastside is the worst boys basketball team in Wise County.
