  1. Wouldn't any school that won a state championship? Doesn't happen often. Technically it's the 3rd state title LHS has won this year. Cross Country Forensics, 2 in a row..I know you will say it's not a sport, but the students involved work extremely hard. Baseball..2 in 3 years
  2. Lol im not upset. I take nothing personally on here. Trust me there are way more important things going on on in my life than this forum or anything Pioneers related. I could very easily quit posting and never think twice. I find it comical myself most of the time If I've added to your laughs then that's good on me.
  3. The score was what it was, and you have no factual evidence to prove that it would have been any different. Lebanon scored 2 the rest of the way, but those 2 runs with a no hitter might as well had been 100. Auburn never was a threat in the game. The game wasn't close for that fact. If you can't understand that, or grasp that, it's a you problem not a me problem. We are going to have to agree to disagree. Have a blessed day.
  4. Illiterate, lol 😆 good job nice one. Is that the best you've got. Have a blessed day!
  5. 1st thing, it's an "inning" and not a "period." That makes your arguement invalid. Secondly, it's simple .."would have, should have, could have, and finally "what if"..bottom line 7 to 0 is the only score that matters, end of story.
  6. My question is why you are so worried about the game being closer? Fact is, it was never close. Auburn made errors and Lebanon capitalized, end of story. You can keep going with the what ifs all day long but it doesn't change anything.
  7. Committing errors is part of baseball. One team made mistakes, the other team didn't, and capitalized off of those opportunities. That is what Champions do. That's what made this Pioneers team so good. They never beat themselves and when other teams made mistakes, they capitalized off of them. That's why they would make "close" games blowouts. That's why they practically ended Auburns hopes of winning in the 1st inning.
  8. I don't care how you are trying to spin it, whether it was the 1st inning or later in the game, Lebanon was going to have an inning like that. That team had innings all year where they'd end the game. For Auburn, Lebanon knocked them out in the 1st. Dropping fly balls is part of the game. One team made mistakes the other didn't and capitalized off of them. That's what championship teams do.
  9. Also Lebanon has made a lot of teams defenses look like a sub par little league teams the past few seasons. Auburn wasn't the first to look like that and won't be the last.
  10. Again "if"....Nobody was beating or coming close to beating the Pioneers, and that's a fact.
  11. It wouldn't have mattered, Auburn was over matched. Lebanon could have thrown any of top 3 pitchers and would have got similar results. Auburn may have got a run with the 2 other guys. When you outscore your post season opponents. 80 something to 5, it shows that you are just on another level then everyone, nobody was beating that team in 1A. They would have had a shot in 2A as well most likely.
  12. I absolutely agree. If Hertig gets on, he usually scores. Defenses in 1A couldn't react quick enough to his base running ability. Lebanon had a few guys like that, who maybe weren't as quick as Hertig but were able to consistently steal bases and keep pressure on the defense. If you make mistakes against Lebanon they made you pay. They were not beating themselves. Lebanon was probably the best team last year as well, but losing to Chilhowie cost them dearly. Had they won that game they most likely would have avoided Grayson county's nc state pitching commit, which would have given them a great shot at winning the while thing, but you live and learn. That loss made them hungry this season and they played like it every game.
  13. Lebanon is just a very complete team. You can't make mistakes and beat them. The Pioneers don't best themselves. There is a reason why the Tennessee High coach gave high praise to Lebanon. Lebanon made them earn both wins. I've said it all season, this Lebanon team was going to be hard if not impossible to beat in 1A. Their pitching was too deep and they were good at all phases of the game. They also had speedy base runners that are usually going to score of they get on. 1A defenses couldn't keep players such as Hertig from scoring. He stole over 37 bases and scored over 40 runs for a reason this season. They just have a dominant program.
  14. The Pioneers are going to be hard to beat. They've got to be the favorite to win it all, but we will see.
  15. I don't think a Lebanon vs Rye Cove match up in baseball, would have been as good of a match up. Lebanon would cruise in 5 innings.
  16. It's going to be hard for any team to beat the Pioneers due to their depth. The Pioneers won't beat themselves. They've got 3 strong arms and a rock solid defense behind them. If they are hitting consistently watch out. Keep it going Pioneers, bring it home. They could won 2 titles in 3 years when all is said and done.
  17. This Lebanon team seems hungry for another state title. Next up Middlesex for a chance to play for the State Crown. Go Pioneers!
  18. Lebanon will evenge last years loss to Chilhowie. Pioneers cruise 10 to 1.
  19. It is insane how deep Lebanon is in pitching. If all 3 are playing that consistently they are going to be hard to beat in any game the rest of the way, especially in the post season. Very few 1 A teams have that type of depth. Now they are hitting well and still getting better. I think this year's Lebanon team is considerably better than last year.
  20. It does appear that way. I would give Lebanon the advantage in that match up. I think Lebanon has played a tougher schedule then Eastside. It was a good game last year, so we will see. Lebanon is hitting well right now, and has excellent pitching. They've had two different pitchers throw no hitters in the past 2 games. If they play like that, they are the favorite.
  21. I think Lebanon won this one 11 to 5. Lebanon didn't play as well as they are capable of an still won by 6. Wouldn't be surprised if they run rule them next time. I don't think Lebanon will be challenged until the region semis or finals. They definitely have a solid shot at winning their 2nd state title in 3 years, but we will see. They followed the Rural Retreat win, with a 16 to 0 win against Holston.
  22. I actually did hear about it, but I didn't read it, because it sounded like garbage to me and a waste of my time. That type of egotistical behavior may be the difference in Battle winning state and not. Teams usually act like their coaches. Hopefully the Battle players don't develop that toxic attitude.
  23. Lebanon is very deep in pitching. They have 3 or 4 guys who could start anywhere around. Buchanan surprisingly isn't the #1 pitcher this year if that doesn't say something about their depth.
  24. This hasn't aged too well. Lebanon always has to be acknowledged in baseball as a top tier team. They are a baseball powerhouse. On the list above, Lebanon has beat both Tazewell and Abingdon twice. They would probably beat John Battle as well. They are most definitely the primer baseball team in SWVA regardless of size.
