  1. I thought Graham was the better team but the luck was on their side. Especially with the special teams. One ball hitting an Appo player and then the kick off rolling to the 1 instead of going out of bounds. That safety was probably the biggest play of the game.
  2. Graham had some bad clock management at the end of the first half. Missed a chance to blow game open.
  3. I’ve got to go with Houseright too. Nobody had GC playing for the district title on the last Friday night of the season.
  4. The problem that Mtn 7 teams will have is there are 4 good locations for a centralized team to get these transfers. Union, Central (if they get off their high horse), GC, and Abingdon. I won’t put RV there because of the location of the school. I would add Va High to the list, but they mostly use transfers in baseball.
  5. I agree that Beavers is the better overall player; however, Hill was the one they went to on the 3rd and 4th and short plays. It was that way with the last staff to
  6. Wish they’d advertised the veterans thing or I’d paid better attention last weekend. Oh well it was only $7.
  7. It’s amazing what local boards will spend money on around here.
  8. Gotcha. Didn’t know that part of it. Does Beaver pay to use it as well? If they do, they need to invest in remodeling and adding an additional restroom.
  9. Not starting anything, but why is it a big deal for them to have a practice there the day before? College and pros travel all the time and have walk through the day before at the site of the game.
  10. This could be the game of the playoffs in the state regardless of classification.
  11. I said it in another thread. I would run Clements till the cows come home. T when Graham tried to pass today it was not very good. Their best chance is the power run game. If appo can’t throw all that well just go man and load the box.
  12. If I’m Graham I ride that wildcat look the rest of the way. They get cute and try to throw it and they will be done in a hurry. I have a hard time seeing anyone doing anything with them up front. I will say RV had some chances in the game. Getting it back to 21 all had me thinking this might be the day. Especially after the disaster that was the 1st qtr. After driving back, I’ve realized that the offense really did enough to win. Yeah they didn’t make adjustments. But they scored 27 points (last 8 being after game was no longer in doubt). Graham just had the answers up front. O’Quinn had no real chances to throw. When he did, they were getting huge chunks. I’m not sure what all is coming up for next year, but didn’t the JV team go undefeated. Someone correct me if I’m wrong on that please. Good luck to the G-Men on getting the big one. You should be the favorites the rest of the year and overwhelming favorites next year.
  13. This gam came down to Grahams offensive and defensive lines were far superior to RV. When you know what’s coming and can’t stop it you just tip your h hat and call them the better team. note to RV fans. If you are in your 50’s and talking smack to a high school student, you need to grow as some we’re doing.
  14. Think that might have been a make up call for missing a defensive holding in the end zone.
  15. When you opponent has 12 on their defense and the refs do nothing you’ll boo
  16. They have the best football program in a 100 mile radius of Clintwood. I’d love to see them put Riverheads on the schedule for a home and home.
  17. I know that the Bluefield game was only 4 weeks ago, but this is a different RV team than played them. The Beavers did them a favor as it woke the program up. It seemed to be sleep walking up to that game. Since then they have looked like team we expected coming into the season. I’m picking with my heart maybe a bit but I think they find a way to get it done 20-14. I believe this could be a low scoring game as both defenses are really good.
  18. I’m just guessing. I have no idea really. If the weather isn’t too bad we will have a good turn out. I was surprised at the amount that drove up for the Bluefield game. And this drive really sucks. I may do the drive to Lebanon and up 19 this time. Driving to Vansant and getting behind grandpa about 3 miles in can cause car sickness in the worst way.
  19. I don’t mind the umbrella ban so so much as some people are rude about them. But venue is important. No reason that you shouldn’t be allowed to have them or cow bells at Mitchell Stadium. There is a good chance the crowd might hit 3000 but with rain I doubt it.
  20. Hey fellow RV fans. I know we all have them but don’t you dare bring your hoverboards to the game on Saturday. It amazes me what some people can come up with when in a board room.
  21. This RV fan was very impressed with Graham last year. You can say that Graham was a great team and RV imploded some. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. I believe Graham had a lot to do with the implosion. The kickoff return that was called back did change the game. Whether RV would have won? I doubt it, but I certainly do believe the game would have been closer. As for this year, I agree with how @SwvaOGdescribed it. Penalties and turnovers will determine it,. If RV brings their A+ game it’s a low scoring affair. The RV defense has been great the last 3 weeks and most of the season. The Bluefield game being the exception.
  22. RV fans need to make the drive. It would be nice if Union could provide some assistance with the code to Mitchell Stadium.
  23. Yes, the flu may be comeback player of the year with its performance so far! Lol
