I want to say this I bleed orange and black, you best believe I'm happy for va high get a chance to maybe play some NBA talent, but my heart hurts for the Graham kids, they fought all night long and seeing some of their kids breaking down at the end of the game at that moment you realize there's no true winner or loser. Myself along with several other Bearcat fans spoke with the Graham kids and tried lifting them up. I see no va high/Graham rivalry I believe both sides became family tonight, hats off to Graham reading what coach Baker said after the region championship saying he's so proud of his kids from what they were the beginning of the season to where they're are now he's proud, hats off to va high losing 4 starters trying to find themselves at the beginning of the season losing by a million to dobyns Bennett, losing by a million to TN High multiple times, then losing to wise central all early then they started to find themselves then boom Ethan Carpenter goes down so now all 5 are new starters what can you say. Now va high is playing with house money let's keep it within 80 and congrats to John Marshall on another 2a state title

This just my personal opinion and I could be wrong cause I've never spoke to the head coach at jm ever, I think he really doesn't care about these 2a championships, I believe he's trying to build his resume, getting national coach of the year last season along with multiple 2a titles, then interviewing for a d1 program they're going to look at his accolades he's heading for the big pay day, then he'll leave jm in the dust, it's just sad at the moment the rest of 2a has to suffer right now until he gets where he's going

I don't know too much about Martinsville or Gretna but I did a little digging an found Rayshaun Logan he plays for Gretna had 22pts and 20 rebounds in the same game against Altavista he's probably their Mr do it all. Gretna on a 9 game winning streak an a 3pt loss to parry mccluer another 3pt loss to wchs whoever they are from being on a 13 game win streak, maybe they could had some key injuries at the beginning of the season but they've been rolling as of late, it's hard to judge not knowing a whole lot about Martinsville and Gretna just on surface between VA High, Graham, Martinsville and Gretna, Gretna might be the favorites to go against that beast up north

The Martinsville vs Gretna game is that their semi or is that their region championship

Yeah it's 2-1 I'm throwing that out cause it's 1-1 with the team they both have now. I think in the last 2 meeting Graham has won 7 of the 8 quarters, va high jump up big last game then lost every quarter an just held on, this game can go either way

I'm going to say 1-1 I'm throwing out the 1st game that's when VA High had Ethan Carpenter, this is a different VA High team now and now more beatable than before

Yeah that's why I knew the rest of the games would be a cake walk for the m7 just Carrico doesn't have any help and Graham is scrappy I thought it could be interesting. Graham contained her for a half an then she put on a mvp performance

I could be wrong but I don't think gate city has a senior on their team, they only have 8 players, Carrico has a younger sister on the team but she isn't as good right now as jaydyn

Graham went up 8-0 to start the game, then led 21-16 at halftime, then jaydyn carrico blitz Graham with 19 in the 3rd quarter, she had 9 at halftime and ended up with 36, Graham won every quarter but the 4th, the M7 is just on a different level in girls but still the best game of the night

Tonight will be a snooze fest for the M7 will walk all over the swd, the only game I could see being interesting is Graham vs Gate City, Graham girls are scrappy, they play hard, they're the most improved team this year. Still Gate City might take care of them handly that's just the 1 game tonight to keep an eye on

Last year Floyd County had a d1 football player that would bully you down low, he was a beast down low I don't remember his name, I believe his brother is still there. #24 was also a good player for Floyd last year, I just don't know if last season if he was a senior or if he's still there

To your credit Wise Central did beat VA High fully loaded

I agree all of them you mentioned are good players, me personally I wouldn't put Lee in the mix with them guys just yet, I've witnessed games this year were he has dominated and then plenty of games were he has 2pts an was a non factor, he's only a freshman an he has a huge upside just as of right now the jury is still out on him

Another thing to point out is we're asking 1 of these 7 teams to go into Gate City and beat them where they haven't lost all year, that's going to be tough. I do think out of the two conferences gate city will have the best player on the floor in Gunner Garrett

Va High would easily win the region championship had Ethan Carpenter not got hurt, that loss is huge, now it makes that region tournament unpredictable. Yes VA High won the SWD tournament but that was somewhat delusional, the Cats jump out to a 21-4 lead and held on for dear life Graham cut it to 3 an just ran out of gas using so much energy storming back. I don’t have a real prediction but like most are saying all 8 are within 10pts or so within the other, probably all 8 have a realistic chance in advancing to state

I know it's hard to compare cause different era's and different positions but if you could who do you think is better Ahmad Bradshaw or son

I agree Bradshaw is NFL talent, nobody in the state of VA including 6a can stop him 1 on 1, Stevie and Delaney are good players but Bradshaw is on a different level, I personally don't keep up with track but was told in Regions Bradshaw finish 4th behind 2 or 3 va high guys, I knew Stevie was one and started guessing who the other 1 or 2 were that beat him. I'm a Bearcat fan but this was the last time I've ever been to a va high football game it was between 2014-16 I had a nephew on the team and it was Va high vs TN high week, I got there early and a friend of my nephew who played for TN high I caught up with him before the game started and he said we're going to stomp yall tonight (which they did) but he said I want you to pay attention to the Va high student section because there is so much talent in there to make this a down to the wire game. I will never forget it there was 10-14 kids that should have been on the field but yet was in the stands complaining about how Va high sucks and I'm sure that trend continues today

And please don't try to school me on Delaney he's just as fast as Stevie or maybe even faster, I watch the kid grow up I even graduated with his mother

I know Stevie was definitely one of them that beat Bradshaw so maybe it was Donnie that also beat him and that would put Donnie as a freshman, Bradshaw just appears faster because he's on a better team but switch roles and put Stevie on Graham and Bradshaw on va high and Stevie would score 7x on this poor Bearcat defense
