  1. I’d love to see Graham and Abingdon play. Would be interesting to see how Graham handles the big man.
  2. Well not much action this past week and a half. also going to list the teams that 1-6 has beaten that were also 1-6. 1. Gate City ( 1 win against Union) 2. Lebanon (1 win against Union 1 loss against Virginia High) 3. Virginia High (2 wins against Graham and Lebanon 1 loss to Central) 4.Central ( 3 wins against Virginia High and Union twice) 5. Graham ( 1 loss against Virginia High) 6. Union ( 4 losses against Leb, GC, Central twice) 7. Honaker (also going throw in their record against these teams) 2 wins against Lebanon Central 4 losses against Union twice Lebanon Central 8. Abingdon 9. Patrick Henry 10. Ridgeview/ JB (some info might be wrong so feel free to correct me)
  3. Lebanon could have easily won the PH game. Think the final was 37-24 or something like that. Reece got them inside the 5 yard line 3-4 times and didn’t score. Lebanon has zero run game and zero receivers fast enough to get open on a short field. So who would you consider impressive? If you put Reece in Union or grahams offense they would have been the serious favorite to win state.

Think head coaches only get an extra 2,000-3,500 per year depending on the sport
  5. Lebanon is scheduled to play Virginia High tomorrow. Then they also play Union in the Virginia High tournament on Friday.
  6. Yea that was an embarrassment. Wish Lebanon and honaker would play in baseball so they could score 50 on them too.
  7. Is he a good man? Yes. Is he a good coach? Meh. Agree with you tho on that it all starts with the parents. But don’t think I agree that they need to focus on the sport they’re playing. Should it always come first? Absolutely. But those few that are playing in that league are the ones who do have the want to factor. Same goes for the handful on the basketball team that go down and throw and hit a bit with the baseball team before going back up for practice. Sports are a year long thing nowadays and if you want to be an elite player then you need to constantly stay working at whichever sport it may be no matter the season.
  8. Agree with you on this. The kids have to have a “want to” factor. But some kids are just out there to be with their buddies and joke around the whole time. You can look at the baseball team which is almost always on the field 365 days out of the year. The basketball team usually is even playing in the summer. Meanwhile the football team only has a handful of players even coming to workouts. Starting a dynasty program requires a couple of things. Great coach and solid group of close athletes.
  9. They were going to play. Just not at Lebanon.
  10. Don’t exactly know the most about lebanon football (mainly just baseball and basketball) so I just primarily go off what most of the athletes talk about. the only two names that I’ve heard about getting the job (even right after football ended) was one of the coordinators from honaker and the dc from Richlands. All I know was that ever since the 2000s started the football program has went tremendously down hill and Lebanon started to become a baseball powerhouse and a contender in basketball (odd that almost double the amount of people show up for games just to watch them get killed when in the other two sports they win more games in one season than the football team has in two decades). Should be a decently attractive job for anyone in the area with a community who is hungry for football. Probably a qb who has the most arm talent in the area and a solid group of rising upperclassmen. The only thing I’d like to see is for him to convince all of the baseball and basketball stars to come out.
  11. Look don’t shoot the messenger just telling you all the things I’ve heard. But playing guys who are already hurt. They could have had a decent season if it wasn’t for everyone not being able to play the rest of the season (think there was a total of 11 players out for the year and almost half were during practice). Not saying that’s on him at all. It’s just super unattractive to all of the other athletes at the school when they walk in each day and one of their buddies is hurt.
  12. From my understanding it wasn’t just the sophomore class. Heard numerous rumors that Lebanons senior class (which has a ton of athletes in basketball and baseball) didn’t play because the coach had a history of getting his players hurt.
  13. Seems to be that he did that for Lebanons core sophomore class. Numerous rumors were circulating that 2-3 of Lebanons sophomores were going to transfer if he stayed. Sorry Richlands fans but it looks that Reece will be staying
  14. And that’s why I feel like the VHSL needs an overhaul of the current system. Teams in region c and d are 1a and 2a because some of them would have to drive 45 mins just to reach another school. Teams in A and B are the opposite. Most people I know from out that way are 15 mins away from 4+ schools and that allows for them to just go to the school who is the best that year. Most teams in our area can’t contend with those teams unless they build a super squad of transfers. Two of the only teams (that I can remember) that have won state championships with zero transfers and all of the players originally from the town they played for are Lebanons two baseball state championship teams in ‘21 and ‘23.
  15. Yea I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say now that nobody is the favorite to win the region. Lebanon, gate city, Union, V High, Graham, and Central can win it. First time in a very long time that there seems to not be a clear favorite for the region.
  16. Any news on if the GC/ Union game is still on?
  17. Tim Hayes also released some stats of the Lebanon players in the prep note book. 1. Michael Reece- 17.3 ppg 12.3 rpg 2. Andy Lambert- 14.0 ppg 4.0 apg 3. Caden Boyd- 9.3 ppg 5.0 apg 4. Brody Wess- 8.0 ppg 6.0 apg 5. Chance Parker- 8.2 ppg 6. Hunter Musick- 7.5 ppg
  18. Then you’d also have to put Virginia High behind Central along with Union as central has beat both of these teams. Could you put Graham at number 5 and nobody be shocked? Absolutely. I just feel like by the time the postseason rolls around Graham will have a say as to who gets the trophies. Should be interesting tomorrow as the G-men come down to Lebanon. Side note: what’s everyone’s thoughts on that game? Will Reece take over for Lebanon with his height advantage or will Graham be lights out from deep?
  19. Should they win the region? Yea probably. Do they have to most loaded roster? Not really. Granted they probably have the best player in the region in Garrett. But outside of that I’ve only seen one other player on the squad impress me.
  20. Was thinking about it but honaker also beat them earlier in the season. If abingdon gets another quality win I would say then you can put them in front of honaker.
  21. 1. Gate City 2. Lebanon 3. Graham 4. Central 5. Virginia High 6. Union 7. Honaker 8. Abingdon 9. Patrick Henry 10. Ridgeview
  22. Anyone know of any decent games tonight or tomorrow?
  23. Also didn’t see campbells name in the box score
  24. Yea I’m just counting region d. Know too little about region c. I just know that GW is very good and auburn is also good. Also heard that GW was out 2 starters. Anyone have any confirmation on that?
