The three names I have heard are Amburgey, Ricker, or Hall. Was then told potentially to make a push for Ricker as HC Hall as OC. (Precursor) I don’t know if either of the three would be interested nor if this is even factual My question is.. is it too late to call Luke or BI back?

Has anybody heard anything about Palmer to Castlewood? I heard it was going to be voted on by their school board awhile back but never saw anything else about it.

Apparently as of here recently it is becoming common knowledge he is not going to coach there next year for whatever reason. I have heard this from several people now.

So Darren is going to be his own replacement? Nice.

So you are essentially saying the Cumberland is going to be even worse then it was last year with the exception of Burton?

The schools administrations are often times not committed to a coach in order to allow them to build something special. I do not necessarily think the amount of openings this year were at the fault of all the coaches who departed.

This is the right hire imo. I am excited to see how things go this season.

I definitely agree with you in this regard. Turner is the only coach still at the helm from the initial Wise Co. consolidation in 2011.

In most instances I would agree with you, but in this instance Ridgeview has had two successful coaches leave the program on their own accord. At what point does the school owe some loyalty to the kids in making the correct hire and doing what they need to do in order to keep these coaches who are having success instead of what appears to be running them off.

I am looking forward to seeing what they do on Offense under him. They looked like a youth team with some of the stuff they were trying to do on Offense last year. Football in this area is better when Marion is competitive.

Am I the only one wondering why a guy with his resume would want to live and coach in Marion?

I think I have to agree with you. I initially thought Rhodes would be a good fit, but his struggle to retain coaches from year to year and lack of winning is concerning. I spoke with a guy in C-wood at the dealership the other day whose son played at ES and he said they have had a different guy calling the offense every year because Rhodes either fires them or they want to go elsewhere. Luke's success seemed to have happened because he was able to keep that core group of coaches and people together. Mullins knows the environment at Central, knows the kids, and has been around long enough to prove he knows what he is doing.

Jason would be a good hire and he is familiar with the program obviously. For this to be a top tier job it does not seem that many people are going after it real hard. It seems basically Mullins and Rhodes at this point?

Burton graduates most of the talent off of a team that won 1 game. Accompanying this with a pretty brutal out of conference schedule and a strong chance of starting 0-5 they may be in trouble.

I had to go back and look but ES won the Cumberland the year before Rhodes got there and they are 17-21 since, but HC experience is valuable, which Tester has as well. Edwards may be a good fit and the animosity towards him at the end of the year could sway that. Can’t really see Bostic going anywhere as he coaches GBB and I believe his son is coming up through middle school now. It’s going to be interesting for sure.

I’m curious on who the right coach for them would be? Because they are going to walk into a tough situation whoever it may be, and the SWD isn’t exactly a cake walk. Marion could improve as a team and still lose the same amount of games for the next few years.
