  1. If Chandler healthy I can see this game getting out of hand.  The kid just different fast, strong, low center of gravity, and he likes contact Idk if anyone on this side of Richmond can stop him alone.  Now add Anderson, Bostic, Huff, and the other Anderson its just a hard offense to stop all the way around.

  2. I think it hard to look at which jv middle school team is the best because some middle school teams keep all the 8th grade holdbacks.  Where some jv teams play mainly 8th graders, and for Central case right now the over 6 freshman starting on one side of the ball or the other on varsity so they can't play jv at all.  That alone makes it real hard to know who could be the best jv team or middle school team around.

They might want to consider sitting him this one.  This game doesn't mean much. Rather have him in conference.  Is the back up that started Eastside game the only one able to do so?

I am not sure the West kid played some qb when he was in youth ball.

Everyone lost some key players last year.  Within the next couple weeks we should really be able to tell something.

Sorry but scrimmages have very little bearing on where teams finish. They are pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. That being said,  Lebanon will not finish 3rd in the SWD. They may beat Marion and Richlands. Virginia High most likely will finish  3rd. From what I understand they held their own and moved the ball on TN High Friday night. If they play that competitive against a team with double their enrollment then they should be really solid. As for Central, see how they do against Union, Abingdon,  Ridgeview before you say they are a sleeper. I say they finish 4th or 5th at best in the M7.

Well I think Va High plays Gate City one day this week we shall see if they are any good like you said scrimmages have very little bearing on where teams finish.

Well, they are replacing all 5 OL and it shows. They want to run more this year and should still be able to throw some but not to the level they did the last two years.  Although, I think they really need to rep their passing game because teams are going to line up to stop the run. They lost an outstanding WR core but have a couple of capable replacements.  I think the starting RB this year should have been starting the last two years….but, hey, I don’t pretend to fully understand  the coaching decisions z
On defense they are really gonna miss the Counts kid at SS more than anyone else, IMHO.  He was a rangy aggressive kid that was willing to hit and covered sideline to sideline.  I watched a lot of football and didn’t see a better SS last year in 2D.  Their whole secondary has a combined zero starts….that will show its head sooner or later.

I think 6-4 to 8-2.  I feel like the M7 is wide open and that across the board the region is not quite as good as last year.

how do you feel they pair up against eastside in this upcoming week;  Against that Power I back field led by freshman tail back.

So can the new qb throw the ball? or is he a run first qb? and does he have any receivers?

I think he threw roughly 7 completed 5 of them 2 where for 30 yards are more and one for a touchdown. but he can move and when he kicks it into high gear he be hard to catch up with on Friday nights.  they do have a lot of skill guys a few that can really catch and make some good moves on there way to the endzone.

PH has had a great run of athletes over the past decade and it looks like its going to continue for awhile. Plus when the VHSL put a hard cap of 475 for Class 1 it left PH as one of the state's largest schools in that classification which has led to success for the Rebels and it continues to carry on.

seems like eastside went down and put it on old PH the run of athletes must have ran out.

A prime example was Central's "super class" from two years ago.  It was a large class of Seniors that had a lot of hold-backs for the purpose of playing for a Region Championship.  That was an "old" team.  The next year (last year), they were a "young" team as most of the starters had zero seasons of starting experience.  The same with Ridgeview....they lost like 17 of 22 starting positions from last year.  Now, even though most of those position will be filled by juniors and seniors, I still consider them a "young" team due to their inexperience.

Now that is true so this year i guess central a little more deep with players that have been playing and 3 freshman guys that are taking over the starting spots for good reason.  How did the ridgeview scrimmage go?

  10. Wise central came out and just ran all over them. Centrals 1s where in two different times both times they scored, once on the 10 plays and once on down the distance.  Then 2s came in scored again, then 3s came in and scored twice more. Lebanon scored once against the 1s and once against the 2s I dont recall the third touchdown but they may have scored 3.  I feel like the warriors could have dominated them on offense and on defense with a 3 man front they had that qb out scrambling around the whole time.  I said it once I say it again Central or gate city going to be the sleeper schools.  Lebanon has a lot of stuff to work on up front they do have one quick WR and qb can throw but line is subject at best they may go 3rd in there district only because Richlands will go last.

  11. Must have watched two different scrimmages because the game I watched union scored against the betsy #3 defense.   Union offensive line was having major issues and the Wallon kid "J-train" as they call him absolutely ran all over them right up the middle.  I got to go with gate city being the sleeper school in mt7 Unions got a lot of work to do.

    Young…..

I hear they are talented as well.  I just wonder when in High School or heck even at college do you become old every team always young.  The difference is age has some factors in it but either you can play or you can't that what it bulls down to for any team.  The up coming players either step up or don't.

  13. At the moment I feel like they have an corner issue the worst game they have had was Ridgeview every other game they lost by a touchdown or less and had opportunities to win all those games.  So this is supposed to be a real down year and still hung in there with every team I don't think it a player thing nor is it the whole coaching staff. They got to be able to run an offense that works for the players they have and they have yet to do that.  Down hill linebackers have really shut down this offense in the red zone maybe they can figure that out in the next year or so who knows.
