35-7 Galax. Not a good sign or happy face if you are in the rest of the class 1 west. Most teams just likely had an 'ole shi$" moment. Galax just seems to find another gear come playoff time. Galax, George Wythe, Grayson, Grundy, Patrick Henry, Honaker, Rye Cove....it's all going to be great fun over the next few weeks with some great matchups and close games looming.
One of the best games I'm looking forward to is Essex and Riverheads if both make it that far. Riverheads seems to have picked up the beatings a bit, and Essex looks like Class 1 King William 2021.

I think we’re at the point in the season where Galax is going to find their stride and be lethal come post season. I’m sure losing to GW flipped a switch. Maroon Tide wins by 14.

Cancelled the Galax game last Friday and my understanding is, they have cancelled with Giles and George Wythe as well to finish the season.
Apparently, they are already practicing basketball from what I have heard.
well that's a bunch of BS! if they had enough bodies to play they should be playing and if they still cancel just to cancel they should be forced to sit out the next sport they play. BASKETBALL!! VHSL needs to grow a pair and step in or this will continue!! If I was an AD and I was in certain teams conferences Bland, Auburn, Craig county... I just wouldn't schedule them at all.
If Radford loses in that region, in my opinion, the team to beat them will be Glenvar, if any team does, and that's because of the physicality up front. Martinsville, Gretna, Appomattox is not going to out athlete Radford this year, and those 3 are not as strong up front.
dont need to out athelete them just need to play physical off the line on 8, he struggles with press and blitz qb, that will beat them.
Tazewell will be one and done in the playoffs while graham will march on to the region finals! Guess they never heard of karma or never tug on supermans cape
Grahams line is the engine that makes them go!! Best south of Roanoke and probably top 5 in state in all classes. plug in any running back and they will be successful with the holes those guys blast open.
Galax plays Glenvar, Radford and Graham in the first five weeks of the season. Galax could easily be the second best Class 1 team in the state and be 2-3.
Galax fans are about as bad as graham and Tazewell fans. you guys beat a terrible hedgville team and then wanna talk about how great you are!!! that team won 4 games in the last three years so keep patting yourself on the back.
Graham.. Cam Allen D1 signed, Lester D1 signed, Taymon Cook D1 signed, Meadows, Bradshaw, and now Roberts-Lehigh offer which is D1. After that, Isabelle at LB in 2-3 years. Ummm, they have kind of.....been pretty full of D1 talent over the last 5 years.
Good Grief. The kid ran a 4.60 as an 8th grader. Give it a rest. Same was said about Taymon Cooke a few years back until he was clocked with a speed jacket on at 4.47 and shut everybody up.
he was in wythe as an 8th grader being held back go to app christian academy . he wasn't even fastest the the team down there. so i know that's a lie, cook was alway fast i mean come on.
neither one does, floyd especially. trydrez is the faster and better of the two and I'm 100% confident he doesn't either. you guys act like graham is full of D1 talent down through midgets. beating an ec glass team that isn't that good while last week vs gate city they scored only 1 maybe 2 tds with their starters in and gate city is average at best. that being said graham will more than likely lose to the beavers then union, run the table against a weak SWD then loss to union again in the playoffs not a bad season.
Agree with your assessment. I agree with what you said about Isabelle. Graham looks like they may have a nasty defense again this season. They have size and strength up front, smart linebackers with good size and strength and a fast and talented secondary. They also have a little bit of depth on that D-Line. The running game should be solid. The QB play and passing game will be the key to their success. If that develops and comes along, they could make another run.
you guys must have watched a different game than me. if grahams D line doesn't play well they are trouble. not much on the back on end expect for 1 their corner who will come up and hit. only team speed is 5 then its a huge drop off when 17 came into run he looked average at best and jet sweeps looked slow and their passing game was pretty much nonexistent. i think step back for this team. just my opinion.
