cool...i just know what he told my buddy (works for a paper also) after the Grundy game. I think you are right, you'd think if the town can have an AB Day that the papers could do a nice write up for the kid...maybe they are waiting for the 4th like you said?

for whatever it's worth...a friend of mine talked to AB after the Grundy game and he said he had still not made up his mind and that the stuff on the internet was in fact all rumor at this point, but he was "leaning" towards UVA. So not a done deal yet, but looks like it could be soon.

anyone have it yet? I heard it was out , but don't see it in the local papers here (wow shocker huh?)

I think the real story is Christiansburg 3rd behind Great Bridge? I kinda figured they might win it. Grundy is in a rebuild year...they have a lot of underclassmen starting and it's going to be a year or so before they get back to the old level again...but you still can't count them out when state rolls around can you? To do so would be a mistake. Well...this was the AP All State, I think the coaches and VHSL also have an ALL State team don't they? Maybe not...I dunno? I think he had a great year and deserves to be on there, but I guess the AP people know more about our area football than we do. Bristol paper is a joke...they wouldn't give anyone other than VA High, Abingdon, or Gate City any credit unless you paid them...then they would probably still screw it up. Oh well, next year looks good...in fact it looks really good.

That's great Brown and Bradshaw made it...Aaron Marcum from Grundy should have made at least second team LB...IMHO he is the best linebacker in the state, and not just becasue he plays for Grundy. Just my opinion. You could argue that Bovenizer from Graham should have made it also, that kid had a great year, esp. the last few weeks. I will have the whole list up here in a few....

eh...great idea but good luck getting anyone around here to do that...seems like they already run to mid december with the playoffs and I doubt they would hold up basketball season any more than they alrady do to put together an all-star team. It would be fun to see the ALL SWD team play together on the same team though.

doesn't sound like Sr. is going anywhere soon - so he'll have time to mature...but I figure he could take over next year if he had to and be ok...Graham has great stability in their program...if he stayed close to the mold, Graham would be fine...Tazewell would be lucky to get him I think. I think Plymal from over at Grundy would make a great head coach also...but I doubt he'd be interested in it? Any old Tazewell players being considered? Anyone know?

I think jr. will stay where he is at and take over for Sr. once he calls it a day....I doubt he'll go anywhere.

For what it's worth...I don't think Grundy took everyone to this tourney because of the flu, could be wrong about that, but that's what I heard...someone told me they let a few of the younger guys to get some experience, if you look at the results on the Grundy website you'll see some strange names in the Grundy slots. I expect them to be in the running for state again this year and they have all of the weight classes filled from what I understand as opposed to last year where they were missing a few.
