Actually its up to the Board Mods as to how many "different" threads can be started...you must have missed the memo....

Just a little thought for the Richlands faithful...
Hopping into the "Wayback Time Machine" to 1989...
For those that remember, Graham started the season with eight straight shutouts and had to travel to Salem to face the mighty Spartans. Well, Graham played their worst game of the season (too many turnovers) and lost the game 23-6. IMO, that was the best thing that could have happened to that team...it was a wake-up call...take no team for granted. Graham won their next five games and the AA, Division 3 State Championship. Maybe the Blues will use the Carroll Co. game as a "wake-up call" and step their game up to the "next level"...
-
UAB, 37-20...totally dominated the game after the 1st quarter...would have dominated the first quarter if their receivers could have held on to the ball...
-
OK, here is the math...
Graham has 169 points. If they lose to Carroll Co., they will receive 14 pts. for the loss (6+8). Plus, in your scenario, a Tazewell win would give them 2 more points. This would give Graham a MINIMUM of 185 points. Also, Graham would have the potential of earning 4 more points from Martinsville victories, 4 more points from Blacksburg victories, 2 pts. from a Marion victory, 1 pt. from a Richlands victory, 4 pts. from Grundy victories, and 2 points from a Virginia High victory.
Tazewell has 150 points. With a win over Honaker, they would receive 28 pts. for the win (12+16). Tazewell is guaranteed 2 points from the winner of the Abingdon-Marion game and 1 pt. from the winner of the Graham-Carroll Co. game. Also, Tazewell would have the potential of earning 1 point for a George Wythe victory, 2 points for a Lebanon victory (over Richlands), 1 point for a Richlands victory (over Lebanon), 2 points for a Virginia High victory, and 4 pts. from Grundy victories.
Since both teams would receive the same amount of points for Richlands, Virginia High, and Grundy, we can throw those out, of the scenario.
So, if Tazewell would MAX OUT on points from the other games that don't involve "common opponents", they have the potential to earn 34 points, giving them a potential MAX (not counting "common opponents" since both teams would receive the same amount of points for the three teams mentioned above) of 184 points...not enough to surpass Graham's absolute minimum of 185.

certainly someone who reads this message board would be able to confirm simply whether or not a player is a senior or a jr.

Can't confirm whether he is a JR or SR, however, he was introduced as a SENIOR and was on the sidelines with the rest of the SENIORS on SENIOR NIGHT...

The highlight play of the game was "Watching eleven Beavers trying to catch one Farmboy on an 84 yard touchdown run"...lol

Man, what a run! That kid was a lot faster than anybody from Bluefield thought he was...he pulled away from the fastest Beavers on the field...I was definitely impressed with that...

The other day, some of us "experts" picked who we thought would be the "teams to beat" come playoff time. Boy, was I the "kiss of death" to several teams!!!! Of the eight I picked, 4 lost, two pulled out close victories, while the final two - both from Region 1 on the far side of the state - had easy victories. Beware if I pick your team next time...
Group AA
Division 4 --
Region 1: Powhatan (beat Prince Edward Co. 49-12)
Region 2: Louisa Co. (lost to Orange 42-27)
Region 3: Amherst Co. (lost to Brookville 14-7)
Region 4: Magna Vista (lost to Bassett 26-8)
Division 3 --
Region 1: James Monroe (beat King George 41-3)
Region 2: R.E. Lee-Staunton (lost to Broadway 14-7)
Region 3: Liberty-Bedford (beat Heritage 13-7)
Region 4: Richlands (beat Carroll Co. 7-6)

I mean seriously, you've got BIG MO on your side, you've just scored the first TD on Richlands all year, its late in the game, the defense has to be a little stunned. One more punch and its KO city...

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying JM doesn't have a chance, but if Bluefield is as good as people are saying this year then they should have no problem handing the Mavs their first loss of the season. Even w/o Powell, I look for them to cruise easily to a W, but I could easily be wrong on my prediction seeing as how I haven't seen either team play this year. I am just going on what I've heard about both teams and JM's reputation in the past.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think anyone has said Bluefield is "good" (you have really stretched the meaning of "good" into "great" in your post BTW) this season...at 5-3 with a couple of ugly losses, their record speaks for itself.
They have too many deficiencies to be considered a "good" (by your definition) team...however, they are a quality team and it will take a good effort by most "good" teams to beat them. And yes, I would consider HH's RB gaining over 300 yards and scoring 7 TDs a good effort by a "good" team.
I think the JM-Bluefield game will be much closer than most people think. It will be a tough matchup for JM due to Bluefield's overall speed. However, in my opinion, Bluefield will need to rely on its POWER GAME to set the table for the speed. Bluefield will also have to play a virtually mistake free game in order to have a chance of winning...they can't turn the ball over, the defense will have to stop the JM running game, the D will also have to create some turnovers, and the special teams have to be clicking on all cylinders (punt/KO returns have to give them good field position, punt/KO coverage must not give up "big plays", FGs and XPs must be converted if/when the opportunity arises). Also, the fans have to be into it...HEAR THAT STUDENT SECTION???? If all these things come together, Bluefield will send JM home with their first loss. However, any deviation from what I've posted, Bluefield will drop to 5-4 and be looking at a road game vs. a top seed come playoff time.
Just my $.02....

Well it is possible for the sun to not come up in the morning but HIGHLY unlikely. In order for G-Man's scenario to work out...Pikeview (1-7) would have to beat both Pocahontas VA and Midland Trail,
-------------------------
If I'm not mistaken, both of these teams are A teams. So we wouldn't get any points from them anyway. This is in the real world too...
[/ QUOTE ]
You are correct...I did not give JM any possible points for those games.

Do you realize that if it wasn't for the 20+ point second half comeback against LSU...UT would be 2-4 right now...Fat Phil may be looking for employment soon...

Plus, he uses all of the talent that he can muster to win games. I think he went through to much "politics" in Tazewell to be successful.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are right! He did use all the talent he could at Tazewell until somebody's li'l boy didn't get to play and then the crap hit the fan. Harris Hart didn't "ruin" Tazewell football, "politics" ruined Tazewell football.
Going to play Nostradamus here for a second...I forsee the same thing happening to Coach Wyatt in the future...
