I read where Pound only had 19-24 players out for the team. Patrick Henry should win.

I think Richlands will win, but nowhere near the scores of the past two seasons. We'll be there and ready to go.

Where's that red carpet at Richlands Lance? The exchanged that for throwing water 2 years ago..lol. I'll look closer next week.

Gate City will be fine. They definitely belong in the Top 16 after watching them Friday. They'll be playing alot of freshmen, but they're extremely talented from what we saw.

That makes sense. I had read a post above about possibly 3 different logos they were going with. I thought maybe they were just trying things out. Looks great.

The logo at midfield doesn't look like it's "set" to me. Looks raised, or could be my great eyesight doin it's thing again....lol. Looks awesome. Can't wait til GC plays there again. We can only hope.

I think I read where GC-Volunteer was moved to 6pm. Those of us that get off at 5 hope that's the case ...lol

Lebanon's field looks great. I drove by there Friday and was shocked. Last time I checked it was nothing but dirt.

I've heard that too, from several in the Big Stone area. I work up there on a daily basis. As for the Pinkston's, if they continue with the spread offense they'll never be able to show everything they can do. As for some comparing them to the Jones boys, there will NEVER be another Thomas Jones and anybody that saw him play would agree.

I hope and pray GC does this at some point.

I always loved Virginia High's when the helmets were black, with the orange.....instead of the predominant orange. I always loved the star on Graham's helmet. Then again I have so much respect for Graham's program that's a given...lol

I noticed Lebanon's field was "gone" too. Are they getting turf also?

Anybody have the Gate City/VHS final?

Last November we got a pretty good whippin there..lol. Richlands offense is extremely good. There's not a better QB in SW Virginia. I was pleased with our effort. We were outmanned from the start. We definitely need help on the defensive side, however you're gonna have these problems when you have at least 7 sophomores on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively I think we'll be fine. It could've been alot uglier if not for the class by the Richlands coaching staff. Good luck to Richlands the rest of the season. I'm glad we've got it out of the way....lol

First game is at 5. It'll be Gate City, Powell Valley, Lebanon, and Christiansburg same as last year. Probably be 2 quarters of varsity each game, with a quarter of JV also. That's how they've done it in the past.

Hmmmm......that answers my question, but that's not the spread I was referring. I feel a little better already..lol

Did they run any plays out of that new spread offense? We usually look like crap in pre-season so I'm not hittin the panic button yet....lol

If you think the SWD will be tough then, you should've been around in the 80's before it was split and the Highlands was created. There was some great football EVERY Friday night. Come playoff time though every team was beat half to death.

Well I wouldn't say nobody in SW Virginia has anything. GC will be decent and Powell Valley should be very good also.

I saw where Landstown had to forfeit four games for an ineligible player. As for Richlands, GC's pulling for you tonight but don't let it go to your head..lol...Good luck!

I've got a video tape that shows otherwise. GC started the third quarter with an 18 play, 83 yard drive that took over 9 minutes off the clock. With 6 minutes left in the game, VHS had ran a total of 3 plays in the entire second half. Anybody that says the refs gave this game away is an idiot looking to make excuses.
