  1. Exactly, it goes both ways. I totally agree, my good friend and I watching last night could've sworn that at the very most, there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the call. And 24-7 is MUCH different from 20-7, as the football guys among us can attest to.
  2. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very nice! High five! Miami basketball also in the news today, Eddie Rios in what should be serious trouble in Coral Gables: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3873288 MIAMI -- Suspended Miami Hurricanes guard Eddie Rios helped steal more than $6,000 in property from other students in at least two separate robberies on the Coral Gables campus, according to a police report released Friday. Rios helped steal four laptops, two Xbox game consoles and a credit card among other items, the report said. He was arrested and booked Wednesday on two counts of burglarizing an unoccupied dwelling, and two counts of grand theft... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. So much for Louisville being the best team in the Big East, LOL.
  4. Hardly anything here in Central PA. Maybe 1-2 inches, that's all.
  5. He scored on that INT return, if for no other reason than he rolled over Fitzgerald into the end zone, thereby never being down by contact. I've been on a lot of sports forums where there are a LOT of sour grapes this morning. I think the officiating was pretty spot on last night. There were a litany of penalties, but going back to the replay, the vast majority were very justifiable. Especially the THREE holding calls on the Cardinals LT. That's what stagnated the Cardinals offense as much as anything. There were exactly three poor calls the entire night (IMO), only 1 of which was indirectly material to the final result: 1. Running into the holder. 2. Not ejecting Harrison after the punch/shove. 3. Not reviewing Warner's incomplete pass at the end. And I do say incomplete pass. Warner's arm came back and was moving forward when the ball was disjarred. Part of the reason that the "fumble" went 7-8 yards. But again, it's only indirectly material: there's still only time for 1 heave at a 51-yard hail mary, which Fitzgerald might catch 5% of the time.
  6. I don't think it was the best. Last year's was arguably better given the circumstances involved, and the end wasn't *as* exciting as Rams-Titans. But it was still an incredible game, and it was everything a Super Bowl could be. A classic that I'm glad I watched!
  7. A very similar reason why the Sampsons actually steered RSIII away from UVA.
  8. As Hokie fans know, during the loss to Clemson, A.D. Vassallo got into a heated confrontation with Greenberg on the sidelines during a timeout. Even after looking at some of the clips, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the sort of language Vassallo used. A quote from Greenberg: Vassallo "will not start again until he earns his position back..." This is a fantastic way to handle a sticky situation. Sit the senior leader and show him that the concept of "team" is greater than the concept of what an individual player can do. Sit the senior leader for the lack of respect shown to the coach and to the teammates. I have to say, as time goes on, I'm becoming more impressed with Greenberg. Perhaps the coaching staff in the other revenue sport could take a tip and be as consistent and firm in doling out punishments. I hate to say it, especially given UVA's basketball history, but VT has a very good coach in Greenberg. He gets the most out of his players through solid player development; he's a better Xs-and-Os coach than many give credit for; he'll put his players in the fire to test and see what they're made of; he's not afraid to let his players make mistakes if it means better results later on; and he'll defend his team down to the end. Virtually, the exact opposite of what we're seeing in Charlottesville right now. And I'm jealous.
  9. That's pretty much how UVA felt last year, losing as many games as we did by less than 5 or in OT. It really sticks in your craw, I have to say. But B.C.'s a much, much, better team than the preseason media gave them credit for. VT must correct itself, lest Greenburg will have to call people "certifiably insane" again.
  10. Nothing more than snow showers predicted for Central PA now.
  11. Very nice article, and I agree with much of it. Thanks for sharing!
  12. http://www.thesabre.com/message_board/basketball/2009/January/29/1061729.php I promise, it's just a screenshot.
  13. My first thought was: why couldn't that referee have been Karl Hess? My second thought: what a despicable and disgraceful action. Even if it would've been Karl Hess. It's only fitting that Tulane beat Rice in the closing moments.
  14. Got this right. Steelers-27 Cardinals-16
  15. Good teams keep these games close, great teams finish the deed.
  16. You can only imagine the number of left-leaning urban/suburban people I've met who'd love to take ALL guns. There have been 2 occasions in which I've got into actual arguments at law school. Not just debates, but occasions when tempers flared. The Second Amendment was one of these occasions, with a liberal from New York City.
  17. Good. It shouldn't have even taken this long.
  18. I know in Central PA we're supposed to take a hard hit: Monday-rain/snow showers Tuesday-snow and wind Wednesday-snow showers Thursday-snow showers We're due.
  19. I do, and am using it as my browser now. It doesn't crash with nearly the frequency that Vista makes IE crash.
  20. Exactly right. Both parties will use whatever logical fallacy to advance their positions.
