  1. Good post. I'd make the trip to see him, were I not a huge distance away.
  2. Thanks for the update! And least the cold shouldn't affect her! ;)
  3. Pretty much what I believe, right here. I'll just add that 53% of Obama's introduced bills in the Senate were declarations: basically, dedicating buildings to people. Not only that, he fits right into the "Do-Nothing Congress", which has passed the least amount of legislation since 1848.
  4. That's a terrible circumstance. Justin will be in my prayers. Keep up the fight!
  5. Here's my most likely scenarios for VT. 1. FedEx Orange Bowl: Win out, win ACC title game. 2. Chick-Fil-A Bowl: FSU wins Atlantic, VT wins Coastal, VT loses to FSU in ACC title game. 3. Konica Minolta Gator Bowl: FSU wins Atlantic; UVA/GT/UNC/MIA wins Coastal; VT 2nd in Coastal. SLIGHT CHANCE: Wake wins Atlantic; VT wins Coastal; VT loses to Wake in ACC title game; FSU leapfrogs VT* 4. Champs Sports Bowl: VT 2nd or worse in Coastal; Wake-FSU 1-2 finish in Atlantic *-FSU beat VT, FSU travels better.
  6. High ankle sprains take 2 weeks at the VERY earliest. "Lower leg injury" sounds very ominous, too. That's tough.
  7. This is the way is should be. But if you let the play go, and you are wrong in the end, you'd need "irrefutable video evidence" to overturn the call. And on true bang-bang calls, you won't get this. ACC officiating is terrible, though.
  8. Is this an article? Some BIG flaws here. I'll try to tease them out. Basically, YES, the vice-president presides over the United States Senate. That's what Palin meant by "taking charge". Else, my Constitutional Law class that I'm pay $1125/CREDIT for has failed me. She wants to work closely with the Senators to implement policy changes. She never said one word in this article about voting on those changes, and this author tries to insert the assumption that this is what she meant. If this is an article, it's poor journalism at its finest. There's no "erroneous assumption" there, only oodles of liberal spin. The only "erroneous assumption" is the lack of understanding both regarding the United States Constitution and regarding the inner workings of Congress.
  9. Well done, WVU. You guys needed that win tonight.
  10. That's pretty interesting stuff, I have to say! Phillies in 6.
  11. This sentence brought to you by Stephen A. Smith.
  12. It should be a moment worthy of comparison to Allen's mistake. Though, I don't think it will. Really, the Republicans lost this election when they ran Jim Gilmore...
  13. I wasn't going to bid on that, but the helmet and raincoat was the deal-breaker!
  14. She had it coming to her. You act that dumb/reckless, then you deserve the results of your actions. Flat out just.
  15. POST OF THE YEAR!!! Thanks for straightening out this mess.
  16. I certainly agree here, and if a company fails to abide by the minimum wage standard, they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
  17. Good points made here. Goes right back to my point about the American sense of entitlement, though. It's hard work, but it's unskilled work. It should pay less than what a nurse/teacher/AEP worker receives.
  18. Inherent in this discussion, I believe, is the American sense of entitlement. I hear the argument often that illegals are taking the jobs "Americans don't want". Of course we don't want them, because so many people in this country feel that you should be able to come out with a high school diploma and earn $20+/hour in the marketplace. With 67% of high school graduates now going to college, this idea seems rather unfeasible, doesn't it? It won't happen, but people need to realize that unless you further your education, the vast majority of the time you're destined for a menial labor job. That's the way the world works. My little interposition is thus: even though Americans "don't want" jobs on farms picking watermelons single-handedly, the fact that illegals are taking these jobs DOES rid the marketplace of a job for a viable American. Even though an Amercian "doesn't want it", when push comes to shove, if it's the difference between that American going without food and water in the summertime, then they'll work it! Too much poverty among our citizens to give illegals jobs.
  19. He squared up, leaned, and launched himself into it. Good form tackle.
