I'm really surprised Martinsville won state this year. I didn't think they had the team for it espescially after they lost their starting center. I guess I was wrong. Congrats to the Dogs and hang another banner up in the Dog Pound.

I think they return most of their key players from last year. Hopefully they will be better.

Looks like they are basicly playing the same teams from last season.

I heard a rumor that Franklin Co. is on the verge of building a second high school. That would mean they would have two AA schools and probably would join the Piedmont Dist.. If the rumors are true then the Western Valley Dist. would lose a valuable AAA member.

Will they still have two divisions in each class? Like Div.3&4 AA and so on?

I would like to see Carrol Co. in the Piedmont Dist. but I'm not sure they would want to be in it. Most schools in the Piedmont Dist. with the exception of Patrick Co. would be an hour or more away from Carrol Co. and thats up and down the mountain. Is this new vhsl proposal set in stone or is there room for some tweaking?

I think Pulaski and Amherst should be AAA and moved to the Western Valley District with Fleming. Their enrollments are around 1500 and it's hard for AA schools with 850 students to compete against them. The enrollment numbers to determine Div. 3&4 AA needs to be adjusted.

For some reason I couldn't get the file to open at the VHSL site. What does this new plan do with Martinsville, Bassett, etc. and the Piedmont District? Thanks.

Sometimes I don't understand why they make a big fuss about how things need to be reorganized and then in the end they do nothing!

The last time I heard the VHSL had decided against going to a AAAA system. I just wondered what the latest plan might be or are they going to keep things like they are?

In my opinion if the Salem kid caught the ball out of bounds for a touchdown then Amherst lost the game due to a bad call. Salem needs to thank the referees for an early Christmas present. I hate it when a game is decided by some bad call by a referee.

Looks like my prediction was wrong but Bassett and MV had a heck of a ball game that went into double OT. Bassett-33 MV-27. Bassett will face Salem which will probably end the Bengals season.

Will the winner of the Salem,Amherst game play the winner of the Bassett, Magna Vista game?

I believe MV will beat Bassett because they seem to be playing some good ball for the past few games. Bassett is struggling a bit. They got blew out by William Fleming and struggled to beat Martinsville. Even though they play at Bassett I think MV will win 28 to 21.

When soccer teams fight are they allowed to use their hands or just their feet?

Overated VT can't beat the Hurricanes but unranked Georgia Tech sure can. They beat them in Miami on top of that!

I can remember when both Chatham and Gretna were laughing stocks in football. Just goes to show you what a good coach can do for a program.

It will be tough to beat MV at home. I don't know much about Carrol Co. but it should be a good game. MV-21 Carrol Co.-14

PDman, I think MV will give Carroll Co. all they can handle. The Warriors are tough at home in the 'hole'. The Cavaliers may win but it will be a close game. I think you were joking about the 50 to 6 score.

I couldn't believe Bassett got pounded 54 to zip by William Fleming. It's going to be hard to pick a region 4 champ because all these teams are about even. Magna Vista, Bassett and Carrol Co. are a toss up. Martinsville will play one game and be out.

It's amazing how some people can let alcohol screw their whole life up. Beckelheimer is a great coach and I hope he learns his lessons and gets a fresh start somewhere else.

Maybe he mooned the Reidsville fans from the middle of the fifty yard line! Being that I am from Martinsville, I'm curious to know the reason for the suspension myself.
