All this expansion just to get more $$$ doesn't sit well with me. They just spit all over the history/tradition of the ACC by adding these teams. Might as well just merge the whole conference with the Big East and be done with it.

I would've loved to have seen Lebanon and Grundy in the BDD back when I was in high school. Those two competing with Honaker and Haysi for the district would've been interesting to say the least!

Yeah that's one of the reasons why the Hogo forced Castlewood, Lebanon, and Honaker out of the Hogo over the years they wanted to keep the district all around I-81 between Wytheville and Bristol.

Things will probably stay as they are in Region D with the Wise consolidations, the alignments have already been set for this upcoming cycle. Who knows if Region D will want to do some rearrangements for '13-'14 '14-'15 though.

Wouldn't it be more direct just to take 460 to Vansant and turn off onto 83? Seems like going down to Abingdon then up to St. Paul would kind of going out of the way by a whole lot.

Honaker had a good team that year, but IMO they did not deserve to make the playoffs that year because they did not win the BDD.

Honaker played Abingdon for four years. Are you sure the reason Honaker and Abingond don't play each other is the Falcons had two consecutive homecomings spoiled by Honaker and they lost all 4 of their games against Honaker?

What has fan attendance been like at the Richlands/Honaker game last couple of seasons rhsfan? I also thought the schedules weren't worked out until around the first of the year. Why would they be worrying about next season's schedule when this season is barely half over?

Yes, I do believe Honaker is going back to playing Rye Cove, Twin Springs, and St. Paul's cheerleaders every season...

I've been a fan of this God-fearin' country-western troubadour for years. Saw him at Rhythm and Roots as well.

Russell County's policy has always been to make small improvements to the high schools every few years and close/consolidate the smaller feeder elementary schools.

I think when it's all said and done there will be a school in Pounding Mill and a school around Springville. If Tazewell Co is ever going to go the consolidation route, closing all three schools and building two new ones seems the most sensible thing. I think a little while back there was a plan floating around to close some of the smaller elementary schools, build a new high school in Richlands, rennovate the schools in Bluefield and Tazewell and move Richlands Elementary into the present Richlands High building. But I think they did away with that a while back..

I remember after one call from the refs, our announcer pretty much told Tazewell's fans to calm down. Funny stuff :D Of course I guess anyone's fans can get outta hand sometimes. I remember a state quarterfinal basketball game at Castlewood a few years back against Radford where Honaker's fans were just downright embarrassing...

I remember a couple years ago Tazewell was at Honaker and the dawgs were winning the game by over 20 points with just a few minutes left to go in the game. Tazewell puts in their 2nd/3rd string players and Honaker breaks a TD run. Most of the Tazewell fans were going crazy like Tazewell had just blown the game. In fact even before that TD run when they were still up by like 24 points, anytime Honaker made a good play or the refs made a call that didn't go Tazewell's way, the fans still showed themselves. Some of the worst fans I have seen.
