  1. I haven't seen the first thing yet posted about Bluefield or Wayne. Did this post somehow get the wrong title? Anyhow, I'm sure Tid_Bit will be back shortly for a rebuttal.
  2. I saw you guys over there working on the field as I passed by there on the highway today. It honestly didn't look that bad to me, but you're hearing that from someone from Grundy. There are some pigpens and roosterpens in Eastern Kentucky that looked better than our field the last couple weeks of the season. It's good that you did some preemptive work on it to prevent any whining. Salem and the VHSL collectively screwed Grundy back in '96, our perfect 10-0 season. I'd hate to see history repeat itself.
  3. [ QUOTE ] BEARCAT said: Take a page from Tazewell and get some class. [/ QUOTE ]
  4. [ QUOTE ] Domination said: Either that wasn't the right site or somethings wrong...Can you give me the right one? Thanks... [/ QUOTE ] Sorry dude, I was being a little sarcastic, lol. The actual website is VirginiaPreps.com but it is so Gretna and Vic Hall-saturated that it should be renamed to VicqualPreps.com. Now I direct my attention to T-Towngirl, I haven't said a bad word about Tazewell yet this season, if anything I've been quite complimentary I think. I hope they prove the naysayers wrong. Also, my boy Prime is just showing his support for the SWD and trying to get them pumped up. He's got a lot of class, honor, and respect. Everyone north and east of us has a superiority complex and it's time for that to change. I don't know why everyone thinks this team is so unstoppable. I give Vic Hall his due, he is a great player, but their last two games are proof enough, their defense can give up points. Obviously, their defense isn't nearly as good as their offense, they just score enough points to make up for it, like the Indianapolis Colts. The Hawks will try their best to find a weakness so Hall can exploit it. The Bulldogs will have to step it up offensively to stay in the game unless their D can totally put the clamps down. If Grundy was in their situation, everyone would be saying the same thing about them. No one can stop Vic Hall and Gretna, blah blah. Personally I always thought that being the underdog is always better, because it's just that much more motivation to give it 110%.
  5. Congratulations to Tazewell on winning the Region IV D3 championship. It would be an injustice if Coach Wyatt did not win COTY honors after your turnaround season. I'd be lying through my teeth (or keyboard, heh) if I said I wasn't wishing that Grundy was in your position right now though. But unfortunately for us, that's the way the cards fell. However, I'm glad that the Bulldogs exposed Virginia High for the proverbial joke that they are. Notice that all the VHS trolls have crawled back into Holston Lake and are nowhere to be seen. I believe that you can hang in there with Gretna if you go in and hold nothing back with that hard-hitting defense. If you go over to VicqualPreps.com, the Hawks will claim to have all these weapons other than their QB, but I honestly believe that is their smokescreen. If you can find a way to contain him and play 4 quarters of solid football, you stand a good shot. The pressure is all on Gretna to deliver a repeat. Everyone says you're the "underdogs," but it's time for the Bulldogs to come and play. Good luck and I hope you guys represent the SWD well.
  6. Just more proof of the travesty that happened last Friday night. BigD is a straight shooter, despite our heated rivalry with Richlands, he will tell you what he think is right or wrong. Cola is the same way. We've got the video, but unfortunately it won't change what happened. I am grateful that Lance posted these vids. Had not the Virginia High fans on here for the most part acted so ugly and distasteful about it all, it wouldn't be so necessary to defend our position. Someone needed to post these videos to speak the truth out on this matter and I'm glad he did.
  7. Blood from a turnip, Lance. I can feel my IQ slip a few points every time I read a post from this guy. So I better quit before I reach borderline mental retardation from reading posts with reative titles for posts such as "tazwell sux" Damn, it's starting already.... OMG ROTFLMAO Tazwell sux, Va Hi will bet u, we hav bes fb in regjun IV, gundy peppel blam refs 4 u loose game, we r de best. I look for most of these people to disappear if Tazewell beats them next Friday night. And perhaps the board can gain a degree of sanity back. Bitter? You damn right I'm still bitter and I will be for a long time.
  8. BigD is right. You don't realize it but for every post you make like this, you are making the Tazewell fanbase look bad. You've talked more trash than Grundy and Graham fans combined since this board's existence. I respect Coach Wyatt and I think he's done a hell of a job with the Bulldogs this year, he should easily be nominated for Coach of the Year. But I refuse to have any respect for someone coming on here posting the crap that you do. Not only do you trash out Grundy and Graham, hell, you're picking on a Richlands band member? That's a high school kid, man. At the very least, talk your smack in one post and let it be, instead of clogging the board up with this nonsense. You are probably treading on thin ice with Lance and G-Man.
  9. How much more smack are you going to talk, man? We lost, Graham lost. It's tough enough knowing the fact that we lost to a team that we had beaten. Then you have you posting these tasteless posts on here. You are a waste of bandwidth on the information superhighway and if I were a mod, I'd already slapped you with the banhammer. Give it a rest already.
  10. I've already went off on my rant in the other post so I'll try to calm down some here. A post of class and closure, Lance. I will admit that I am quite bitter over it though, and will be so for a long time. It truly wasn't supposed to end this way, but somehow and for some reasons, it did. Nevertheless, I'm proud of these guys and they have nothing to be ashamed of, this team's heart is immeasurable. To all the seniors, make sure you work hard to make your grades the best that you can and try to further your education after high school. This is not the end of your football career if you don't want it to be, it can be only the beginning. Good luck to all of you, especially my bro, Aaron, who I better be seeing playing some college ball next year. To the rest of the team, as hard as it might be, you have got to keep your head up and march on. Hit that weight room the hardest that you can, run every day, watch and study game films whenever possible to analyze what you can improve on, go to football camps if all possible, get some creatine and protein, train hard, and most importantly, never ever quit. Garon, you have to try your best to pick up the team morale the rest of this school year. This is your team to lead now and I think you are definitely capable of stepping up to fulfill that role. It's been a pleasure watching the 2004 Grundy Golden Wave this year. I hope to see "my fellow Bleacher Bum Film Crew Jimmy and Lance" next year. It was indeed a hell of a year. I don't think we are necessarily closing the book on Grundy 2004, but I think Grundy 2004 is merely a great chapter among other chapters in a book that is not fully completed yet.
  11. [ QUOTE ] All year long I have been accused of whining due to a lack of respect for our team. No matter how close and physical we played, on this board we have been degraded and trashed. Our "hometown" paper picked us to lose something like 35-7 tonite even after the last game where we did more than hold our own against Grundy. I would like to thank all of you who have ran your keyboard this year. Our coaches put it all together and put it up today for us to read. Most of the team never sees this stuff. We rode to Buchanon County with a mission to earn respect in swva. Tonight we played much like we have every game this year, but we FINISHED. All the predictions for tonight's game were particularly motivating. It appears none of you knew what you were talking about. All the regular season hard breaks don't matter. We are now 1-0 and Grundy is preparing for winter sports. There is no way anyone can claim we did not earn this victory. We had atleast 5 turnovers in our own territory. Grundy was inside the 10 off turnovers atleast 3 times. There were no penalties and they never crossed the goal line. For all the talk about the Grundy offensive jugernaut, i would like to see their stats against us the last two games. I think G. Marcum had 60 yards the first game, and less than that tonite. yes, two long runs were called back on penalties. If you look, there were uncalled clips on almost every succesful run of the night. so, the two that were called were more than justified. Virginia High has the best linebacker/fullback in swva. His name is Jerome Lockett. Look at a tape from the last two weeks...you'll see. It was also fitting that our QB who is playing with a torn ACL since week 6 made the hit that caused the fumble to seal this game. We proved our point. Now everybody shut up. Oh, and by the way...we plan on winning Region IV. [/ QUOTE ] Real classy post, 'Coach', coming on an internet message board and shooting your mouth off about your botched win. Way to set the example for the kids there. So how much did you pay those refs anyhow? Additionally, Lockett couldn't hold a candle to Aaron Marcum. Ah well, I can sit here and type whatever but you will say "excuses excuses" blah blah. You know you didn't win this game straight up, bottom line. What goes around, comes around, that's all I got to say.
  12. [ QUOTE ] Are snorting something. First off Wilson isnt a lb. He is a corner. The kid he ran into was the FS. Why don't you get your facts straight before you come on here vomiting this crap up for all to read! Typical grungy! [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like Tid_Bit is a tad bit cranky. You figured he'd a little relaxed when he said he was snorting something. lol
  13. [ QUOTE ] The Storm Center has sighted previous Storms all merging in on the Richlands area. Storms Jessi Smith, Jeremy Keene, Big Mo Lester, Travis Payne and Brandon Gayheart are coming from the west. With Storms Chris Whaley, Bret Clayburne, Justin Pruitt and Thad Wells are coming from the south.Still we have storms Travis Tatum, Caleb Jennings are circling the area looking for a place to strike. Magna Vista, Ernie Hicks Stadium is not like "The Hole" and Severe Storms often strike and leave visiting teams devastated!!!!! The Storm is coming!!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Hey Cola, why did you leave out the Thrilla of Vanilla? lol Did he somehow slip off your radar?
  14. It seems like at least one or two get screwed every year. Honaker didn't make it in last year with a 9-1 record, yet they make it in this year with an 8-2 record, go figure. But they went 3-0 in the BDD and won the district, so they get an automatic bid. Haysi is the one that got screwed this year with a 9-1 record and no playoff spot. In some districts like the BDD and Hogo, if you don’t win the district, there’s a good chance you will be staying at home. Unfortunately, that's the way the system works.
  15. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Wyatt has my vote for Coach of the Year. He sure has turned that team around. I would say the game that we had against you guys was the most physical game all year. I look forward to seeing this matchup again in the playoffs. [/ QUOTE ] Any game with the Richlands defense could be nominated as the most physical game of the year. Because the Blues opponents feel like someone just hit THEM with a two-by-four. [/ QUOTE ] Your confidence is admirable. I'd love to have another shot at you guys but unfortunately, this war of words will be waged until next year's meeting. Granted, your D is good but for your sake, I'd hope the team is prepared to back up that kind of talk in the playoffs. Anyhow, oh yeah, before this thread was hijacked off on a tangent, we were talking about Tazewell's season. Aside from the physical game comment, my main point was that Coach Wyatt has sure turned around the Bulldogs. Going from a 1-9 season to a 6-4 season with a playoff berth is COTY material in my book.
  16. Wyatt has my vote for Coach of the Year. He sure has turned that team around. I would say the game that we had against you guys was the most physical game all year. I look forward to seeing this matchup again in the playoffs.
  17. Just wanted to give you guys an update. Jimmy, Aaron, Garon, and I just got back from Lexington at 7pm this evening. Their sister is doing better, the surgery was deemed successful, but she still needs careful monitoring to make sure the medications are working properly to rectify what could not have been rectified in surgery. She was moved from ICU to a regular room with monitoring today, so she is making good progress, especially since the first day. She is eating some, talking and moving pretty well. God willing, we are expecting a full recovery. Several family members are still there so she's in good company and has had a great outpouring of love and support. We were more than ready to stay longer, but since she has been progressing well, we decided to make the trip back home today. Aaron and Garon will be suited up and ready to play tomorrow night against Virginia High. I'm sure they will be holding their sister dear to their hearts and feel inspired to play well. On behalf of the Marcum family and I'm sure they'll be on here soon to tell you the same, I'd like to say thanks for all the concern and prayers. God bless.
  18. You might be wondering why a Grundy fan is starting this post. Well I try my best to stay peaceful and quiet but I've seen a few things on here that are just irking me. I didn't want to hijack the Richlands SWD champs thread about this matter so I thought it should be started here. [ QUOTE ] Yeah, hopefully we will see ya again whether we are a number three seed or a four seed it doesn't matter. Richlands feild was in good shape except in spots. But at least yall put on some quick dry to attempt to make it better. Theres no way we could make an excuse about that. [/ QUOTE ] That was just one instance. First, it was the whole ref conspiracy. Now it's complaining about field conditions. Even your coach made a low class statement that "Grundy has a million dollar fieldhouse and a two-cent field." Richlands tried to be sensitive to your field condition issues and sprayed "quick dry" on the field. Final score: Richlands 26 CC 3 I just want to know, how the hell do you expect to play in late November and December? It is the nature of the beast and football games are played through rain, sleet, snow, or hail. You just need to face the fact that Grundy and Richlands were better teams than CC this year. You should play in conditions like that of the Region IV D-3 Title game between Grundy and Graham. Both Grundy and Graham people on here can vouch for the conditions of that game. You've got your refs, you've got your field, where you can apply all the quick dry you'd like. What's the excuse going to be if Graham pulls out a win Friday night?
  19. [ QUOTE ] Carroll-24 Graham-14 Carroll is hungry for a win after losing two straight and we are looking for payback for messing up our undefeated season last year. [/ QUOTE ] I'm thinking that I might agree with that prediction, since Bradshaw was there last year, and especially of course, the game is at CC. Just havin' a little fun, don't let my remarks get you riled up. EDIT: Don't know how I overlooked it, but I just noticed the "Grundy-28 Virginia high 31 in ot" prediction. I'd laugh but I almost feel sorry for the bitterness in that prediction. I said ALMOST.
  20. It should be a good game. Wyatt has done a good job with Tazewell this year so we can't underestimate them. I think he might be a coach of the year candidate if T-Town makes the playoffs. I'm going to be making the trip in and I can't wait to watch it. Good luck Wave!
  21. [ QUOTE ] BEARCAT said: Lance, keep in mind that the last game will likely count for little since we will now very likely be making a return trip the next week. Thank god we are dropping you after this season so Garon can pad his stats against another Kentucky cupcake. I hated playing on your rocky field and i hate comin' over there. plus, if we are very likely going to compete in the playoffs in the future, than it's not smart to play the last week of the season. You and your buddies are jealous of Bristol cause there's more to do than go to the world's crappiest movie theatre and watch bulldozers rebuild ma and pa's thrift store on the hill. [/ QUOTE ] Yes indeed, you should thank God that this will be the last year Garon will be padding his stats on you guys. You'll see in a couple of weeks. I don't know why you have to attack him when he's said nothing to you. I don't know why this argument got all economical all of a sudden, but if you want to go there, we will. If it weren't for BMS raking in millions of revenue twice a year, your city wouldn't have a pot to piss in. This thread might grow to big proportions in the next coming two weeks. I was going to try to remain peaceful on this thread, but taking shots at our town and players is just uncalled for. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to ride my "bulldozer" down to "ma and pa's thrift store" and buy me a soda pop.
  22. Keep talkin'. I love it when a new rivalry begins to take shape. Lance is just pushing your buttons to add some extra drama to our last game of the regular season, and it looks like he's doing a pretty good job, lol. I will give you guys props though, you kept it closer with Richlands than I thought you would. You'll be able to take out your frustration on Marion next week, as unless if the team comes out horribly flat, you should come out with the W. See you in a couple of weeks.
  23. I didn't think for one minute that this game would be a blowout, I knew it would be pretty close. I had to stay down here in TN for a family reunion this weekend, so since I missed out on watching the Wave play, I figured I'd ride a little way up the road to check this game out. I'd like to give props to the Gate City fans. This was the first time I've ever been there at Legion Field and despite the loss, you guys really rocked the house. I got into a game of musical bleachers once because I didn't know where I was sitting was reserved, lol. But with such a demand for reserve seating, fireworks, airhorns, crowd noise, and fanfare, you guys have the best fan support base around. This was the perennial classic matchup against PV and the game didn't disappoint. I really thought we'd probably see the game go into OT with the Blue Devils pulling something out in those last 4 seconds.
  24. That law is probably what indirectly lead the Richlands Mall to be such a barren wasteland right now, I'd say. Kroger's shut down, the theater shut down, Rose's sure isn't the same store it used to be since Big Lots bought them out. Everything's at Claypool Hill now.
