What many people fail to realize is that Big Creek is a school which has a very deep tradition of kicking butt. With the downsizing of the coal mines and a few recent floods the community lost a lot of family which equates to losing a lot of players, money, and support in respect to a football program. I pray that God blesses those kids, coaches, and community before they become the Spartans. (Which by the way is not as bad a name as I originally believed it to be......It's doable).

First off no quarterback is so dang good that he never has an off night or a few bad passes.....Will is no different. However great quarterbacks and athletes in general succeed in making those around them better. Trust me guys if this kid is not a great athlete/ quarterback yet then he is fast approaching that level. Eric McClanahan is another great quarterback/ athlete..if you haven't noticed. Either of these two YES TWO young men CAN AND WILL get the job done. Both are unselfish, hardworking, team players. I really wish that you naysayers and people out of the know would leave the issue alone. They may not be YOUR (meaning you) prototype quarterbacks but I am sure they are just perfect for the overall scheme of things at Beaver this year. All of this talk about who is bigger, better, stronger has not worked to your advantage....there is no team seperation, no dissention among the ranks, no cliqish behavior.....your put downs etc. make us stronger, more determined, and focused on what is really important......WINNING IT ALL.
Thanks

aaron is about 5'7 and has always been lightning quick...smart as hell and willing to mix it up with anybody...make no mistake guys Beaver has about three very good nose guards...we are so blessed this year. Lets just pray that all of these guys stay healthy etc.

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER.....
This stuff is sort of like the cold war.... sure some of you have a little firepower and you want to flaunt it. You get on here and try to say things to make other schools and fans feel oppressed and unsure because you are so powerful or insecure.....well well gentlemen/ladies here is some food for thought- Overall none of this talk really matters. Most of you/us are either too old to play now, has played at some time and has had our share of wonderful wins and lousy losses, or you will never smell the dust/little rubber particles that will be kicked up on a football field. For the sake of all of the proud people who can accept history, wins and losses please by all means shut the heck up. Only time will tell who will be victorious on any given Friday night. The Best teams don't always play the best games. In saying that let me also add that may God bless each and every young man on these teams to stay healthy throughout the season and also help all fans to be proud upstanding and outstanding citizens that those students and communities can be proud of. I sure hope that you guys agree.

Marvin is related to Marco....... Marco Dowell is a cousin...another part of the Beaver Bloodlines.

That was/is a great arcticle about a great man. I have heard many rumors of his greatness over the years but never all at one time. This arcticle should be posted and celebrated by all of our youth. It displays in great detail what hard work and persistence will get you. Thanks for the post.

Just wondering what the high mark for the shot was last year in West Virginia and Virginia.

Great point ... you make a lot of sense.. unfortunately it makes "too much sense" for the WVSSAC or any of the cities that you mentioned to get together and make it a reality..... it is kind of sad that none of the officials up in Parkersburg have realized your concept and capitalized on it.
-
they always make up rules down there ... just a fact of life Buzzsaw....in a couple of weeks they will be without those beloved refs and none of that crap will fly... until then good luck mavs.

Both of these young men are great quarterbacks....Eric has progressed over the last couple of years and is respected among his fellow players and classmates.. however JT does bring a new dimension to the position ... gentlemen trust me when I tell you that a veteran coach like Coach Simon and his young apprentice (Little Freddy)knows all about that position and will always have it filled appropriately... These people know football and work very hard not to let the student athletes or fans down when they mold these young men into positions.
-
Maybe not but if so I hope that it doesnt come from the $4177y jobs of the officials that we had down in welch last week... those guys are horrible to say the least and should be reported in whatever way the WVSSAC permits ... They allowed that Mt. View team to line up offsides all night , made a bull S call on that punt, and robbed us of an interception........yes all big factors in a close game...I challenge anyone to say otherwise ( I have obtained a film of that game and as they say "Film don't freakin' Lie" whatever the case the Beavers will rebound from this robbery ans finish up strong as for Mt. View I hope that they dont expect such "FAVORS" from the rest of the officials that they will see... remember knights you travel to James monroe this week.....

that kid is an athlete... His sister was also a great basketball, softball player at BC.... good genes I guess. That Kid was suppose to play there last year but had something else going on.... sad because with him BC may have wona few more.

James Monroe is always a tough one (for anybody). That crazy , sometimes wild looking single wing is a force. I pray that the beavers stay as relaxed as always and deal with it accordingly. You are so right ... there are quite a few teams left that Bluefield and the Mavs have to prove themselves against. Happy gaming mav fans see ya soon in Lindside.
