the qb from taz hardly ever pushed the ball down the field. he would throw a two yd screen pass and the wr would house it!!

You can't blame the qb for playing within the offense if teams want to play 10 to 15 yards off the ball throw the short stuff all day

What does Taz have coming back this season what does the swd look like going into next season

It was shocking to hear a coach say that it could be done even better…I know the community is really bummed out that Edwards is not staying. The kids like him and he did a good job coaching the quarterback. I am not sure where he will end up

I don't know I think there are several things that could be improved upon (an not I am not cutting on the job tiller did I think he did a good job taking over the program and dealing with the pandemic season then having a fine year after many thought losing Adkins would make rv an also ran )

1st I think special teams could be alot better improving that part of the game lost rv the union game and almost lost them the Richlands playoff game.

2nd it seemed that rv could not start a game off worth a crude with the union and Bluefield games being examples of games rv did not seem to get anything going until late in the game

3rd rv needs to get the ball in there play makers hands more and in different ways IMHO one weakness Wan not putting pressure on defenses with different looks or motion

Again not cutting tiller it could be that would be things he would be working out during the season plus who knows if what I think is playing into what the new coach is thinking at all

Looking at a couple of rosters and it appears lee, union, and rv return the most and lose the least number wise. Gc, jsb, and central losing quite a bit.

    Abingdon losing quite a bit.

Next year: abingdon1, rv/u, everyone else

It is a given that Union will be solid year in and year out Do you think that they will be primarily T based Team again or will losing Lomax push them in another direction?

Abingdon lost basically there entire offence  will they be able to reload with so little effort

RV might be scary on Offence next season but they lost several key players on D how well they can plug those holes will go a long way into how far RV can go next season

I personally think Central may surprise some people next season I am not saying that they will go 10-0 or 9-1  but I think that they will be a bit better than middle of the pack

To clear something up, it’s not freshmen or those parents. Just talked to a RV teacher.  He said his attitude and treatment of players. Had to pull up freshmen because he only had 4 girls return and two of those were on the line about it.  Not making it a rumor board just wanted to clear up that about freshmen.

IDK IMHO Frazer is one of the top coaches in the area The Clintwood program was in Horrible shape when he took over and he built it up to a state championship caliber team Then repeated that in Ridgeviews 1st season since then RV has been consistently one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the region (And given how tough the region is you could argue the state )

All I have to say for anyone wanting to run Frazer off be careful what you wish for because you just might get it

I agree with all that. I hope for next year RV can develop some sort of running game. I think one of the problems this year may have been the way the line was coached. Not in a bad way, but teams kill the runs quickly with penetration, But when they passed, the line was good all year. I found that to be strange for this area, as it’s usually the other way around.

I am not sure what the yards per game or per play was rushing wise but I bet that it was not that bad I think the big issue with the RV running attack was that there were too many negative yard plays I THINK more sweeps and more speed option plays will help but I think RV should be putting the ball in there Receivers hands 75 to 80% of the time until teams adjust and start giving RV the numbers advantage in the box.

That being said I think that RV also needs to work on a short yardage set for times that they need to grind out a 1st down near the end of the game or punch it in from the 2. I know the wildcat look was there short yardage formation but i think it need work

They do return all but one kid if I remember correctly and if the program is correct.  I’d love to see that staff up there get the Beavers kid the ball more.   There was one game…can’t remember…where the other teams announcer was asking why they don’t throw it to him more.  Lol.

Honestly all district is a horse trader game of you vote for mine and I will vote for yours with coaches that have relationships with other coaches getting the benefit more times than not.

O'quin Not getting 1st team is all but admitting that the 1st team QB would go to the QB of the team that wins district. (I mean just under 2,500 yards and 26 TD are Monster numbers for anyone much less a freshman)

Lomax having to share the POY award is a matter of saying the district winner must have the POY as well

Beavers is a great WR no doubt I believe he was the #1 receiver in the M7 this year and the #2 in the region IMHO

Problem with winning by 1 is it becomes easier to lose by 1

Im saying an early 4 TD margin that we cruise with till the buzzer sounds

Richland is not chopped liver a 4 TD margen is a nice thought but week 6 Richlands came in after getting thumped several times Playoff Richlands is coming in on a nice win streak and a Huge win of (then) 1 loss Va High

I think RV is the better team but need to come in with the heads screwed on straight

  8. Backing out and looking at the the VHSL power points threw this past week

Central and Union will both end up with 219 points IF (CBurg,Graham,Eastside,TW,Grundy and Va High all win)

The game I am looking at is PH and Grundy the winner of that game (Played Tuesday(?)) may decide #1 in the M7

Power point question help show me where I am getting this wrong.

Union and Central should be a wash for district games Bring it down to each teams OOC games

Central Should get 17 to CBurg (Assuming they beat Pulaski(sp)) 26 from East Side (Win over Castlewood) 18 from Marion (Loss to Graham) and 24-26 from Grundy (Depending on how the PH game goes for them)

    Making Central OOC points 85-87

Union should get 20 From Burton, 28 from TW, 16 From Graham and 22-24 from Richlands (Depending on the Richlands/VaHigh Game)

    Making Union OOC points 86-88

To me it seems like #1 in the M7 is still up in the air (Again I may just be overlooking something any help is appreciated)

Of course after looking at it again I shorted Central 2 points for Marion and Union 2 for Richlands but I am still hung up on the same point differential

Any predictions on this one.  The Beavers need to win their last two games to get into playoffs.  They will have enough games now to qualify with a recent forfeit to Woodrow Wilson.  If they can make the playoffs I think they have a pretty good shot at winning it.  This game concerns me though, it appears Ridgeview is a good team and will be tough to beat at their place.

RV did not handle the Abingdon passing game well last week. What I have seen from Bluefield this year the RV DBs will need to be on top of there game. Both teams need a win I think it will be a great game to watch

Didnt Abingdon play 2 games in a short period, with GC being the last game? Maybe Thursday then Tuesday?   and like you said, Jenkins

Yes they played Friday and Tuesday and have had 10 days to get ready for this game

  13. #7 is a difference maker no doubt but they tend to spread the ball around quite a bit and there will be a mismatch somewhere I think it would be more accurate to say if Abingdon does not take #7 away it will be a long night for the Falcons LOL

Honestly though I think it will come down to how well RV can D up the Falcone run game. Abingdon looks pretty good up front

  14. Abingdon is BIG on the LOS RV needs to get them off the field so that they cant take 10 min off the clock every time they have the football the top 4 in the M7 can beat anyone else in the district on any particular day.

This is a big game for RV playoff seating as Abingdon would net them a lot of points

As a side note, rumor has it that the VHSL was contacted about the horn, the town council may take up the matter( Town owned property) Rumor rumor rumor , I like the horn before the game, after Union scores and after a greats play by Union

Would not surprise me due to the (Disability rights aspects of ambient noise for people with auditory disorders under the
Americans with Disabilities Act) Honestly I am surprised it has taken this long for someone not to jump on it from that end but who knows

I personally don't think it is as big a deal as alot of people make it out to be but I can see it being an legit issue with people who have some disorders included in the Disabilities Act

WET WET WET , come FRIDAY so we will see if TRAVIS elects to play or waits for SAT. He likes FRIDAYS even if its wet

The field in BSG drains well as long as it is not a downpour at game time or a wind storm I don't think field concisions will come into play
