  1. Obviously Bradshaw since I got to play against him. David Wilson didn't have a long career in the NFL but got to see him in person and watching him at the high school level was

...wow!!! Barely can remember Julius Jones from my much younger days. My old man has had the pleasure of seeing all you mentioned plus the Barber bros, both Jones', Sensabough (sp?)...Kilgore (DB-TN)..

Hopefully next fall, we can all say we got to watch another pro in high school as in Devon Johnson, great kid, hope he gets drafted or at least picked up after the fact.

In baseball, I can't remember the guys name, but in 2005 we played against Dan River and their ace pitcher went on to play with the ATL Braves for two season s and he was seventy freaking feet tall with five foot long arms.

  2. My question is, when will these changes take place? Next season? The year after? This is the first year of the current setup of the two year cycle. Will they scrap the current plan for next season and start anew or will that let it run its course and start over in 2017-18?

Info I read, as Well as many other people more important than me, said 17'-18'.

  3. Will say this which will probably sum up all three schools issues with passing basing it off of the RIchlands/Wilson game.  You cant throw lobs downfield on more athletic defenses as WM was.  When River would throw a fastball we had a completion but when he threw lobs, obviously those were picked, except for the one tipped by our receiver then tipped by their defender and eventually picked off.  The speed IS a factor once you get to and past Roanoke.  Our running game was 50/50 for this game and our only score was a rushing TD by River.  Felt we could/should have run the ball a little more but our bread and butter was passing and our gameplan was passing.  Just so hard to do in pouring rain and against more athletic and quick secondarys.  Defensively, however, Richlands was just as good at covering their recievers when they tried to throw and had a INT as well.  Think their QB was 2-10 or 3-10 passing so argument on my end may be nullified but that's just how I saw it.

  4. Well, got to watch some extensive film today on WM.  My thoughts are their defense is stifling against the run, don't think quite tested like they will be against River and the spread, will be new to them and not saying they wont be able to cover but it may very well be a offense they will have to adjust to.  For them offensively, pound the rock....three yards is a victory.  Most of their scoring drives came 6-8-10 minutes long.  Our defense MUST have some tackles for loss or no gain.  #88 is seventy freaking feet tall (not really obviously, but very tall)....if they wanted to do a jump ball to him every play, not quite sure we have anyone that can out jump him.  Summary:  RIchlands OFFENSE will be the key in this game.  River and company will need to be in the same mode they were in against GC and Marion and I have no doubt that they will be.  As always it starts up front and I like our chances with our OL.  REALLY, really excited for this game and cannot wait until Saturday to see this game go down.  Depending on what time the cool front moves through the region it could be a rainy game, and as always   THE STORM IS COMING NORTH ON 81.  See you at the game!!

  5. Agreed Ryan, we need to flood the stadium and I think we will. Giles was packed out last year and the weather is suppose to be nice. If not, the true blue fans can be just as loud. Agree attendance for away games this year is not what it has been though and that's a shame. I remember playing at Graham my junior year and the visitor side was so full there weren't any seats available.

  6. First post in a long time other than the pick em' for me.  Finally have been able to go to all the games this year with a dayshift job (seven years of straight evenings suck btw) for my Richlands boys.  Nobody is saying much about this game but to me it is a big game for both schools.  Lebanon has been kind of a sleeper team in 2A and Richlands lost focus after the BYE against Abingdon.  I remember playing against Lebanon 02-06 and they were always strong and has some speed guys but mostly just strong as hell.  If the playoffs were today these two teams would still be playing each other.  What does Lebanon have that nobody is talking about because I haven't heard much about them.  Only know they've kept games close for the most part that they have lost and their record speaks for itself at 5-3, theyre doing something to win....good defense or good offense or little of both??.  Annnnnnnd, go.............

  8. Just want to say good luck to both teams and hope for no injuries. BUT,  I want to call out our (Richlands') fans this week because it was embarrassing last week from a former player's standpoint looking in the stands and seeing not even a half full stadium.  Hope Bristol and RIchlands packs the joint out and makes for not only a great game but great atmosphere for the kids, they DESERVE fans showing up.  GO BLUES!! What was it Cola always said, "The Storm is brewing"......Richlands 28 VHigh 27

  9. Heard earlier today from extremely reliable source that......well let's just say some single a schools will be aa and the southwest will be close to old form without Grundy and cc but addition of gc and aa welcomes gretna back to aa....if you can't figure out the scenario then speculate for a few weeks and then it will be revealed in February! All area teams should still be happy.

  10. After his season low 32 yards in a conference champ. Game he is staying, and I see hosley staying after his down year this year filled with injuries....dyrell Roberts with another year due to two seasons of injuries, next year honestly will be a better year if the o-line can reload instead of rebuild with the loss of four seniors.

  11. I heard it was because he's too small.

Heard that somewhere a few years ago on somebody else that tore up Ernie's field.

This is true but sad bc the kid would be successful in D1.....it won't be long and players like him will be the featured back in D1 IMO. Look at Oregon...two small backs and there milk and honey Is running the ball. VT and UVA are crazy for not looking into him, and it ain't his grades being a problem if bill & Mary is recruiting him.
