  1. It's funny that everyone from Graham thinks that Graham is going to win and everyone from Bluefield thinks Bluefield is going to win. You can't base your decision on what you saw at a SCRIMMAGE. Coach Simon is not going to tip his hand. This is however a hard game to predict because as stated earlier the best team doesn't always win this one. But since everyone else from Bluefield picked Bluefield to win I might as well do the same. Beavers by 2 TD's.
  2. So you think Bluefield should only play 8 games instead of playing Graham twice and have 9 games? I understand what you are saying but these teams are trying to get into the playoffs and if Bluefield only plays 8 games and they go 5-3, they probably don't make it. I do agree that it would be nice if they only played each other 1 time in a season because of the bragging rights but until the other teams around here stop being scared and decide to schedule Bluefield and Graham, they really don't have a choice.
  3. The rule is if he plays another sport then the suspension carries over to that sport, so if he would have played baseball then he would have served his suspension in baseball, but since Travis didn't play any other sport, the suspension will carry over.
  4. I like the 3-4 if you have three really good lineman because it allows you to still have 4 DB's but the 4-4 is also pretty good.
  5. I don't really know enough about a lot of the AAA and A teams to say. I don't know who lost what but the Parkersburg teams and Morgantown are always tough in AAA and Wheeling Central and Williamstown are always contenders in A. I will also say that I look for Weir to be tough this year and depending on the new coach, they should be contenders this year as well.
  6. I know it is really way to early to make any bold predictions, but I want it to go on record that I think Bluefield will be a legitimate contender this year. They are going to have the athletes, the only thing that concerns me is the inexperience. If the guys who are returning from this past years team step up and take the leadership role, look out! You better believe that Coach Simon and the rest of the coaching staff will have those boys ready come August. Good luck this season to the Beavers and remeber, as long as you give it your all, no one can ask anything else from you!
  7. You know Weir, you act like that since the great and almighty "Coop" is ON (and I say on rather than playing) WVU's football team and Rusty is on (notice I said on for Rusty too, wouldn't want to ride anyone's coattails) that it means "Great and almighty Coop" is a better player than lowly D2 talent Rusty. There are many things that go into a school recruiting players. Look at the players from this state that were recruited by WVU. Where were they all located. In the northern part of the state in close proximity to WVU. WVU seems to take the same stand as all the other "northerners". They don't even look at players from the southern part of the state. You guys up north act like we don't know how to play ball down here. I think the North-South game showed you that we can. Sure the North won, but it was by no means a blow out as predicted. Now I know if the great and almight "Coop" would have played the North would have won by 25 touchdowns, "Coop" would have been the MVP after scoring 62 touchdowns and recording 355 tackles with 50 sacks all while only playing the first half. The bottom line is, there were a lot of factors that went into Rusty choosing the lowly D2 school. You don't know those factors. So my advice to you is, if you don't know the whole story, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!
  8. I'll be there for every game until our boys bring home the trophy!! GO BEAVERS!!!
  9. Did you guys notice that once Rusty got on here Weir's whole attitude changed. All of a sudden he wasn't bad mouthing Rusty, he was congratulating him. Just thought that was kinda funny!
  10. Where did you say they would be a tough out? Your statement was "When they lose come tournament time.." It's one thing to get on here and talk about things that need to be worked on, like the free throw shooting, but it's another thing to get on here and completely belittle a team that you say you are a big fan of after only watching ONE game. You also said you weren't going to point out individual players and then you proceeded to name two players and their "weaknesses". It's also funny to me that you think that with your superior basketball knowledge you can accurately assess a basketball team by watching one game. Your not taking into consideration that they may have had a bad game as a team, as all teams do. To the players: There are fans out there who support you and feel that you are going to be the team to beat. Use "fans" like Rules to fuel your fire. Good luck with the rest of your season and keep up the good work.
  11. You know Rules, it's a shame you call yourself a Bluefield fan. As you said in your post, this was your first time watching this team play. Give them some credit, most teams had been practicing for several months while this team had several DAYS of practice as a team before the season started. They are still working out the kinks but mark my words, this team is going to be tough to beat come tournament time. Sure there are things that they need to work on but they are 8-3 with two of those losses coming to two of the best teams in AA right at the beginning of the season. If this team goes on to win the title you will be on here talking about how great Bluefield is and how big of a Bluefield fan you are. You need to come to a few more games before you start spouting off how this is the worst Bluefield team you have seen in 10 years. There are a lot of teams in the state that would like to be as "bad" as Bluefield is this year!!
  12. It's a little early in the season to be writing these guys off!! They are still learning each other. Mark my words...once this team gels, they are going to be tough to beat!! Good luck guys and ignore the nay sayers!
  13. Rusty was on the 2nd team offense last year at QB. God willing this year he will be on the 1st team. But no matter what...your still the best longsnapper in the state!! HA HA!! Congrats Rusty on a great year!!
