  1. "WOW, very impressive wins. Those teams have a winning total of 12. And losing total of 40. Conrgratulations I just learned some new about weir today. We have a very decent chance of beating them now. Especially after looking at there schedule " You should go in thinking you have a shot. Why even play the game if you don't, just as Weir is thinking they are going to win. It will be a hard fought game and is a great ending to this chapter of the Weir/Bluefield series. I'm sure they'll meet up again in the coming years though.
  2. Oak Glen(1-9)...50-0(W) Harrison Central(OH)(6-4)...44-12(W) East Liverpool(OH)(3-7)...42-0(W) Indian Creek(OH)(6-4)...20-6(W) Edison(OH)(2-8)...28-0(W) John Marshall(8-2)...29-32(L) Magnolia(8-4)...42-7(W) Brooke(5-5)...42-10(W) Wheeling Central(9-4)...25-6(W) Buckeye Local(OH)(1-9)...48-13(W) Logan(5-6)...66-0(W) Scott(10-2)...34-8(W) Wayne(12-1)...22-7(W)
  3. "Im still not sure who weir has anyways. I know they have that good QB. But who else do they return thats a big playmaker. Dont they run pass or what?" Weir does return 3 year starter Brandon Sperlazza at QB. However, they also have two RB's that went over 1,000 yards each before the end of the regular season in Corey Lyons and Josh Smith. They are both around 1,300-1,400 right now. Josh Smith(#33) played on last year's team and had over 100 yards against Bluefield along w/ Cooper's 150+ yards. Lyons played the first two games and then was ruled ineligible for the rest of the season and sat out the first two games of this season. They both are great RB's. Jason Gatto, Dawand Smith, and Jordan Taflan are Weir's best WR's. Gatto just broke the single season TD reception record of 14 at Weir formerly held by both Eric Turner and Jack Crow, who both play at WVU now. Gatto has 16 TD receptions if I'm not mistaken. Weir's defense is what is most impressive though. They held Wayne's RB Gary Roland to 11 net yards in the second half last week and under 100 yards for the game. It should be a good one in Wheeling and all of the Bluefield fans coming up, drive safely and good luck.
  4. Thanks, appreciate it. A little off topic, but what does Bluefield's baseball team look like for this year?
  5. Bluefield has shown that even in a down year, they are still one of the top teams in AA. I think everyone has been waiting for this game since after the semis last year. These two teams will come out fired up and ready to play. I think Weir will be too much for Bluefield, but that's just my opinion. This senior class is a lot like Bluefield's senior class of 04-05. They have been through the heartbreaking defeats the two previous years and have worked that much harder to go out on top of AA. Weir just has so many weapons. If you stack the box to try and stop Lyons and Smith, Sperlazza will just throw in a PA pass and hit Gatto, Dawand Smith, or Taflan. Their defense is solid and their coaching staff makes great adjustments at halftime. I'm not going to predict a score, but I think Weir will win this one. Anyways, congrats to Bluefield on a great season. Noone gave you a chance to get back to Wheeling and you proved why you are one of the top programs in the state.
  6. I have to say something if you keep trying to call me out. I don't have to worry about your team. Weir or Wayne, whoever you end up playing first will destroy you. Enjoy your "successful" season while you can. When November comes I don't think you'll have too much to celebrate.
  7. I told you I was wrong and I won't post until the playoffs are over, but you still have to run your mouth. At first, I got on here and congratulated JM on the win and wished them good luck, but you had to come on here and throwing it in everyone's face that they won. Act like you've won a big game before!
  8. I forgot you took the deal but I will stick to my word. This is my last post until after the state championship game. Congrats to the Mavs and good luck in the playoffs. Hopefully you will be traveling to Weir in the semis and I will definitely be at that game.
  9. Newsflash, you got lucky and barely beat Bluefield in one of their worst seasons in recent memory. What do you think Weir, Wayne, or Herbert Hoover will do to you when you have to play one of the top teams in AA?
  10. Great programs celebrate w/ class and act like they've won big games before. I could just see you guys going crazy after beating a mediocre Bluefield team w/o their best player. Come up to Weirton and we'll see what's good again. I can't wait to see this rematch. LOL
  11. Bluefield doesn't seem to be playing very well lately, but noone better sleep on them in the playoffs. They just know how to win in the postseason. If JM and Bluefield meet in the playoffs and Bluefield gets Powell back, it's a totally different football game. Like I said enjoy the win, b/c in a few short weeks you will be exposed again as a weak team that plays an even weaker schedule. Bluefield fans keep your heads up. After Weir won the 98 state title, they sufferered through several losing seasons. We are back where we want to be now and that is exactly where Bluefield will be in the next few years.
  12. How many times have you played Bluefield and how many times have you beaten them? That's what I thought. Weir has 6 state titles and their program is by far superior to JM. Enjoy the win, but don't get too excited. Weir will end up at #2 and you will come up to Jimmy Carey Stadium if you make it to the semis and get sent back down Route 7 w/ another embarrassing loss to the Red Riders.
  13. I said that JM would lose to Bluefield and I was wrong. I can admit when I make a mistake. Good luck to both the Beavers and Mavs throughout the playoffs!
  14. [ QUOTE ] Maybe not, but you guys sure as hell can't lose with class. [/ QUOTE ] That's because they rarely lose. State title count, Bluefield 8...JM 0! I could see JM celebrating like they won the Super Bowl. It must suck that they are that jealous of Bluefield's program. I will say congrats to both teams and good luck w/ the playoffs!
  15. No, the most suprising score was Nitro-32 Woodrow Wilson-21. Woodrow Wilson was supposed to be unbeatable and noone gave Nitro a chance. I believe I called the upset. Good job Nitro!
  16. I'm not saying JM doesn't have a chance, but if Bluefield is as good as people are saying this year then they should have no problem handing the Mavs their first loss of the season. Even w/o Powell, I look for them to cruise easily to a W, but I could easily be wrong on my prediction seeing as how I haven't seen either team play this year. I am just going on what I've heard about both teams and JM's reputation in the past.
  17. I was saying that IF, and that is a big if, you go 10-0 you still won't be a 1-2 seed. Keep trying to make me look dumb though, maybe one day it will happen.
  18. You play ONE AAA team that has won a single game this year. We played a top 6-7 AAA team that will end up w/ 8 wins and another team that has slipped as of late but will still end up winning around 6 games. If Weir wins this week I am positive they will be a #2 seed. That's pretty sad when you go 10-0 and can't crack the top two. I think it's time to start changing the schedule up. It doesn't really matte b/c Bluefield is going to light up the scoreboard this year winning easily over JM. That will mean JM will drop to around 6.
  19. [ QUOTE ] I will say this however, should James Monroe win out, we have a shot to leap frog Weir and finish second because Weir is open the final week of the season. [/ QUOTE ] I am not trying to start anything, but I have been told that if Weir wins their last game, which they should, they'll hold the #2 spot. It doesn't matter anyways if Weir doesn't play the last week of the season. Every team that I know of, except for Bluefield, plays 10 games. Weir just usually makes their schedule so their bye week is after the season instead of in the middle of the season, which is a smart move IMO. Weir got a lot of points for beating Magnolia, Harrison Central(OH), Indian Creek(OH), and AAA Brooke.
  20. Bluefield dominates James Monroe as usual. I'll say 42-28 if it's even that close. Bluefield makes the top 10 in the playoffs w/ a 6-3 record and James Monroe drops from #3 to #5-6.
  21. Congrats, hope he has a great career.
  22. Good luck to both teams. This is a big game in terms of the AA playoff picture. I'm anxious to see what unfolds in this match-up tonight!
  23. Bluefield_Rules, you're such a loser. Yeah I'm calling you out and I don't care if you use your "administrative" powers to ban me from here. Come up to Weirton running your mouth like that to me and we'll see what's good. You can believe that. Put me on your ignore list? You scared or something?
  24. Well I was in a hurry and you asked what their record was so I tried to copy and paste it to you. Just go find their schedule yourself next time and don't ask me. I copied it directly from the WVSSAC website. I mean you'd think they'd have it right, but they didn't. Some people on here just make the wait until December even more worth it. I can't wait to go to the Island!
  25. I think my avatar looks fine. Thanks again BigD4VT for making that for me.
