  10. Howdy yall!!!! I just got back in town not long ago and figured it was time to get back on the board. My great great uncle on my step grandfather’s side of the family passed away in Texas and he left me everything he owned according to his last will and testament. So, I had to settle his estate before I left town (He made millions in the latex manufacturing business). Anyway, looks like the board is alive and well in Southwest Virginia!! I see some of my old friends still posting uneducated and uninformed nonsense especially LOBSTER, WASP1, 89TORNADO, RICHLANDS ALUM, SALTSHAKER, FATBOY, and BLUENECKNATION. But I can always rest assured that BIGD4VT will always keep and maintain the integrity of this message board. So what is the story with this GODFATHER person on the board? I am a little nervous and quite frankly concerned with the presence of a mafia in the town of Richlands. Before I left town, this place seemed peaceful and well spirited. So, moving on to Tornado Football, what is the story on the BLUES this year?? Are they still undefeated??

  25. THE BLUES ARE IN THE DIVISION 3 STATE FINALS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY AND HAVE A CHANCE TO COMPLETE A PERFECT SEASON. LAST SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT "THE ERNIE," RICHLANDS SENT A MESSAGE TO THE ENTIRE STATE THAT THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL. LAST WEEK, I PRESENTED SOME ABSOLUTES AND DESIRABLES FOR THE GAME AGAINST LIBERTY, THIS WEEK LETS ALL TALK SOME STRATEGY THAT WILL HELP THE BLUES BRING HOME THE TITLE. OFFENSE: 1. Strike early!!! On Saturday, the Blues had thier best start of the season and it proved to be the difference. The offense took some energy out of Liberty with some early success and they never fully recovered because they could never stop the Richlands offense. Good starts bring instant confidence and can help ease the jitters. 2. MIX IT UP MANCE!!! I said this last week and the great balance of offensive calls kept the Liberty defense off balance all afternoon. The coaching staff definitely did their homework so I am sure this week will be no different. Utilizing Rob Stanton is something the BLUES have not been "forced" to do all season; however, Rob rose to the occasion and his mismatch gave McCracken a target all day long. 3. Utilize the turf!!! The BLUES will love playing on the carpet. Caleb will be able to chuck and jive all day. On Saturday, a wet turf neutralized Jennings at times, but on Saturday we will find that the artificial turf helps speedy players. The BLUES proved on Saturday that team speed will not be an issue at the "next level" and other teams should be aware that the BLUES have a great amount of team speed!! DEFENSE 1. MAKE A STATEMENT EARLY!!! Liberty found this out on Saturday when the BLUES pushed them back on their first two series. All of the concerns about Liberty's speed and Maryland I formation quickly became a non issue. 2. Disrupt the gameplan!! Forcing teams to abandon game plans can be a great advantage in any game. On Saturday, the BLUES forced Liberty to spread out the offense and the Liberty QB never looked comfortable the rest of the day. We need to force TA to abandon the run and put pressure on their QB to beat us with his arm. 3. BE PHYSICAL!! Show Turner Ashby just how physical Richlands can be. The BLUES pride themselves on wearing down opponents by utilizing their toughness. This Saturday will be no different and this could be the difference in the ball game. If we can keep pounding TA and win the line of scrimmage battle on both sides of the ball, the BLUES will have a very productive day. INTANGIBLES 1. SENIOR LEADERSHIP!!! Never was a statement more true than Saturday afternoon. Every senior stepped up to the plate and delivered their best performance of the season. They need to lead the team this Saturday and help the underclassmen keep their composure when and if things start going south. 2. ENJOY THE MOMENT!!! Congratulations are in order for this team and they all need to "soak up" the spotlight this week because you may never get another chance to play for a state title(I hope this is not the case!!). Enjoy the atmosphere, stay focused, execute, play defense, and hold on to the football. This simple recipe should, and I quote head coach Greg Mance when I say, "Bring this thing home!!" GOOD LUCK BLUES AND MAKE OUR COMMUNITY PROUD!!!
