Oops.. thefactman... the season has started and the bristol had PH getting pretty much dismantled at Rye Cove friday nite.. Have you got an opinion on that one?

I think TV is playing the red team.. They play high schools such as TV, Graham (in the past) Carroll, Grayson etc. On another board they killed Floyd on Sat. nite by 29 pts.. Floyd was picked in the top 2 or 3 teams in their district. So look for TV to have their hands full.. As for Mouses post above.. They might be alittle better than alright! But, obviously they are not the Gold team with all the D1 recruits.

My take was Twin Valley dominated. Both teams are billed as being top teams in Region D. TV has threats everywhere on the floor. They can score a bunch in a hurry. Anybody else see the game. I saw guys frow Twin Spring, Lebaaon, Haysi and St. Paul there.

Having seniors that can play makes a difference. They know this is the last year. Good luck mouse, lead your team and congrads on your article in yesterdays bristol.

IMO... the star was chucky lindholm from tn.. then webb is gone along with their star Pt. guard derrick smith.. well actually warner was the starting pt guard untill he lost his mind and they move the more solid smith to handle the ball and then brought in the forign exchange student in as the first sub. Then i think they lost probably 70% of their bench to graduation. Coming up from JV will be some big kids but none the calibre of the players graduated.. I pick them 2nd behind Castlewood. Warner is back along with Dockery. Dockery is pretty dang good!

I'll say this to the Blues!! Dont get your heads in the clouds... Believe in yourselves.. Dont get caught up in reading newspapers when you should be in the weight room. Your attitude should be of a hunter hunting! Dont be caught off guard by a team being a hunter. Take care of business. Dont let a team hang around again like Carroll did!! Bad things can happen.. In the playoffs one bad night, a miscommunication or laps in mental.. Can send you home... Season over... Best of Luck... Go gettem..

That kinda attitude might be some of the problem down there... "If", i say "if" he's on the team... To much selfishness.. Garon has had a great career.. and the thing is he's split time with other great backs coming up.. Can you imagine what he coulda done if he'd got the ball 75% of the time when he had a line to knock some holes open.. I give him great kudos!!

I think so also.. My first prediction was based on what Grundy had to go through to get where they ended up last season!! lol A lot of close games... Also, rumor has that baker might be out again. He has been sidelined in football with the shoulder injury again. This leaves Grundy Hurting for Size inside. It sounds like Justus will have to carry the offensive load! Probably lots of 3's going up. Carroll... Richlands has the size and athletes as does Graham. Graham has the best athlete in the district in Rob Henry, if he decides he wants it in bball.. Re-thinking and reading posts here.. I think the SWD is a toss up with 4 teams very capable.. Give Grundy a slight edge.. and Tazewell outside looking in. Just my thoughts.. for fun.. 1.Grundy (slight edge) tie...Richlands, Carroll, Graham.. 5. Tazewell, if they come together, can have a say on how the district will end up.. The game is played on the floor with 5 against 5...Anything can happen.

I agree biggamesjames. The SWD has'nt had a good team since.. Graham had Bradshaw and Belcher.. Time will tell how matchups go. Last year what was the records of the top 2 teams in the SWD verse top 2 in the BDD... Just for talking purposes!! Who was those losses to?? But now SWD can whomp some arse in football!! lol But, then again.. maybe Honaker and Haysi might have something to say about that themselves!!

Lance, man.. you have the best of intentions when it comes to Grundy Football. Tradition there has been strong over the past several years. Some great athletes have come through there. Marcum without a doubt is a really good talent. IMO.. a top 10 in Grundy History. Not the best ever to come through there. Last years team was loaded with talent. That talent is gone. The ones left have the responsibility to step up and carry on. That only entails doing the best they possibly can. Humbleness can be hard earned, and sometimes some things are better left alone. When its all said and done.. If you can walk away from it and say I did the best that I could.. That’s whats matters. The pressure is passed to the guys moving up!!

1. Grundy.. they are all seniors and should be favored to win. New coach, new system, it could be interesting. 2. Richlands.. If they get the athletes out that wouldn't play for Rife, to go along with a good JV squad could be a big supprise. Not to mention, the momentum of football carrying on into bball. 3. Tie.. Graham - Have the athletes but do they have a leader? Carroll - Same as above but with a new coach.. Will he bring the E & H run and guy to CC... This will be interesting also.. 5. Tazewell.. Graduated all the big guys sept.. Justin Wilson.. Can he shoulder the team?? If he gets help they could be a spoiler! It wont be long guys.. Lot of you wont get to start to hopefully mid December... right?? Getting on a roll at the end is what matters in bball.. Best of Luck to all..
