  1. I for one was glad to see the refs calling the fouls, unlike the last contest. Bluefield fouled a lot and it got called. The fans were acting ridiculous over every call... but that's par for the course at a high school basketball game. As I said before, had Dalton not been in foul trouble all night for Graham, the outcome may have been different. Bluefield won, however end of story. Future looks bright for Graham, at least the next couple of seasons.
  2. Carlock.... take note. Also at the beginning of the game, this should be played over the speaker. http://www.soundboard.com/sb/sound/400073
  3. Graham looked better than the first game, but still didn't play to their potential. Dalton stayed in foul trouble all night. I feel that he made a huge difference when he was in the game at affecting Bluefield's ability to get to the rim. I was surprised that Morgan is still out for Graham, had heard that he would be back after Christmas break, but he is still not playing. Also, any news on Baker? looked like a bad injury last night. Hope the young man is o.k. He is one of my favorite players to watch. On a positive note. Graham was playing with a bunch of freshmen, sophomores and juniors against a Bluefield team with 5 seniors that see significant playing time, so I think Graham is built for the future. Next season may be a special one. The freshmen Lester and Dawson played well. JV team lost by 14, had a couple of promising looking players, but then again....Graham has several 9th and 10th graders playing on the varsity squad. So losing by double digits isn't that discouraging.
  4. What if the other team wamts to concede the jump?
  5. Meant to say the likes of "Gate City and Martinsville"... sorry.
  6. I don't see Graham or Richlands challenging the likes of Gate City or Radford this year. Should be a good game between the two teams. Graham is very quick on defense and gets in the passing lanes well. If Richlands can beat the press they should beat Graham. Graham has nowhere near the defensive pressure of Bluefield, but they do pressure the ball well.
  7. game has been re-scheduled for the 25th.
  8. Anybody that posts on this site knows that G Man says exactly what he means. Not sure what you're trying to "read" into it.
  9. Game has been re- scheduled for January 25th. Hopefully Morgan will be back...not sure if Dalton will be back by then. They may both be out.
  10. didn't last long... had a little squall at my house, little bit on college avenue when driving towards Wal Mart.... Came back home and it's all gone.... This sucks.... was hoping for a little bit of snow.
  11. The basketball coach of either school can not make that call. All games at all schools were cancelled.
  12. I think Richlands "should" win this one, especially with Graham being shorthanded. I wouldn't hand the next one to them also, however. The 2nd one should be a lot more competitive.
  13. Not sure Graham will compete with Dalton out for a few weeks and Morgan still out. Should be a better game at the end of the season when Graham is at full strength. Richlands should take this one.
  14. If Graham is at full strength, they will challenge Richlands. If Dalton and Morgan are both out, they don't have the bodies to compete.
  15. Graham always plays poorly at the Armory. Bluefield probably had a lot to do with that. Hopefully Morgan will provide a spark when he comes back and Graham will play them better the next time.
  16. Anybody know how Dalton is? That would be a huge Loss for Graham.
  17. Looks like Milo had a pretty good prediction.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if these 2 teams split home and away like last season... If Bluefield wins by double figures, I would be surprised....but they seem to be clicking right now. Guard play for Graham is excellent. I'm impressed with the growth of Darren Martin especially. Curto, Allen and Baker are all solid contributors. Dalton does a great job underneath. They hustle and go after loose balls... Should be interesting. Not sure if Morgan not being in the lineup makes much of a difference, they have guys that can hang out and shoot the three. Not much of a step down from first to 2nd string. I like the youngsters Dawson and Lester, they both look promising. Lester is a very good defender and Dawson looks like he has some promise for offensive production in the future. Very scrappy group these G Men.
  19. The game is tomorrow at the Armory. Should be a good one. Graham is without Morgan still..but are very aggressive and quick on defense and force a lot of turnovers. I give the Beavers the edge at home they have a couple if big men that may pose problems for Graham underneath and they come with a lot of pressure on defense. Thoughts?
