  1. Did anyone notice the "pass interference" call on thier last drive? Liberty had a guy motioning and it was illegal, so right after the ball was snapped the ref threw the flag and waited till the QB threw it, once the reciever was about to catch it he blew the play dead. If its a dead ball then you're supposed to do it before the ball is snapped, if not let them play, don't wait till richlands hits the qb to blow the whistle. Then the refs talked for 10 minutes and still didn't get it right. It seemed like after every play Liberty was hitting Richlands players. Even when Richlands would get a big play they'd still pop back up and start talking trash. And after one of Liberys players would get tackled they'd jump up and get in the richlands player's face like saying "hey you ain't supposed to tackle me" the ref's should have put a stop to that early, and they didn't and it got out of hand. I know I said alot of bad stuff about Mance last week, but he called a great game this week. Congratulations and good luck next week, bring home the trophy for Tazewell County!
  2. The only 2 losses they had was by a field goal.
  3. i hope richlands wins, but i wouldn't be suprised if they don't. I'll say 20-14 Richlands, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was the other way around.
  4. Good job Bluefield on a sucessful season. Losing all the players that they did and still making it to the state is a victory in itself. With all the young players they got, they should be back in wheeling next year.
  5. yes we've already established that in another thread.. so no need for this one
  6. Pocahontas won the season opener against northwood tonight 87-54. We had 3 players that had double doubles and 1 that missed it by a rebound. Some of the stats .. Mark Little 27 points - 13 rebounds - 7 assists - 4 steals Shayne Dillon 13 points - 12 rebounds - 6 assists Josh Sams 12 points - 14 rebounds Brandon Pauley (freshman) - 21 points - 4 assists 8/10 from the field Hope they can keep it up throughout the season.
  7. Are you talking about Drew Walker and Justin Wilson? Wilson could be a good player if he stays around the basket and Walker is pretty quick and can score inside. But in my own opinion, from what i saw when we played against thier team in a youth league last spring, neither of em is too good. They get frustrated really easy. Walker threw a punch at one of our players when we was up big. I think we beat them around 30-40. Tazewell should be at the bottom of the swd this year.
  8. [ QUOTE ] nah u read it right just mis understood haha i did put them after saying buch. co so i went back and changed it so people wouldnt think that. [/ QUOTE ]cheater lol
  9. [ QUOTE ] Have you noticed that some teams from buchannon county and the black diamond district are they ones saying that we cant even play with them? If we couldnt play with them we would not be ranked ahead of them, and we wouldnt have made it as far as we have. [/ QUOTE ]Richlands is AA, the BDD is a single A distric, and the only school in buchannan AA is grundy. So the only one that you're ranked ahead of is grundy.
  10. Virginia Preps board is really unorganized, i like this one a lot better
  11. that don't make him better than montana that won 3 rings (i think) and turned san fran into a dynasty in the 80's
  12. I went before and after the game at A&W - Long John's. That food is great! I didn't like the hotdog's too much but the bacon cheesburger was the best i ever had. I like the old time feel of it and how they use mugs,
  13. No way would Bob Griese(sp) be ahead of Montana lol But anyways I think that the colts will stay undefeated till they have to go to seatle on christmas eve. i hate watching a colts game myself, because it takes so long lol he's always audibling at the line, takes along time
  14. Mets are looking pretty good for next year, especially if they end up getting Manny
  15. i guess it wasn't a state championship lol I know it was a west virginia team in the playoff's though. I remember watching Bluefield vs Poca when Poca had that really good tight end (#4 i think) and the stadium looked really nice.. a lil cold but nice
  16. I remember watching what I think was a single A state championship on TV a couple years ago, it was really muddy, didn't they used to play one of the games at Marshall?
  17. that's true, but why not put your team in a better position to score? he might've been thinking different than I am or seen something i didn't, but when a QB as big as McCracken why not do qb sneaks? or FB's as strong as Harrison and Payne why not FB dives? I'm not saying that he called a terrible game, or he is a bad coach, I'm just saying some of the calls he had were very "questionable" at the most. He did call some plays very good, like the screen to jennings that caught graham off guard. I think almost everyone knew that the onside kick was coming, especially everybody around me. It was a great kick by #6.
  18. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If you think you can do a better job EH31, then take that up with Coach Mance? I agree some calls were questionable, but we got a W, can't you appreciate that. It's hard to beat a good team twice! [/ QUOTE ] This is what I find FUNNY... Someone from Pocahontas, a school that has won 7 games in five years, is talking junk about a coach's play calling...not just any coach but the coach of a team that is now 12-0 this year, won Region IV D4 last year, and has made the playoffs each of the last five seasons. SIMPLY AMAZING!!! [/ QUOTE ]Amazing.. thats what i thought about that halfback pass
  19. ME: they're look for ya on swva http://www.swvasports.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=56301&Main=56223#Post56301 they made a thread just for u mi Hall: oh i forgot my password agian mi Hall: lol ME: lol ME: want me to ask lance to change it for ya? mi Hall: yea sure ME: aight i will
  20. Coming from VA Preps A little info on LHS... ...Smashmouth on both sides of the ball. Not overly big. The starting O-line goes Carter Brown(5'11 210), Daryl Roberston (6'3 290), Jason Key (6'2 255), Frankie Keeney (6'2 230) and David Harlow (6'1 235). They are all seniors with the exception of Jason Key who is a junior. They are all two year starters with the exception of Harlow who is in his first year as a starter, although he saw a lot of PT last year. As you know we love to run the ball and make the defense find the football. Damien Dobyns at 5'9 140 is the starting tailback, pound for pound he may be the best football player in the state, ferocious on defense and he wrestles so that tells you what kind of mentality he brings to the game. He's got over 250 and 3 scores in the first two playoff games. He's right around 950 for the season but he didn't start carrying the ball consistently until late in the season when he got back healthy. Mike Riner(5'7 180) at fullback is an ox. He squats over 500 and is the strongest guy on the team pound for pound. He doesn't juke he just runs right at people and at 5'7 its tough to get under him to make a sure tackle. QB Julian Poindexter has led the team well and lately has done a great job(knock on wood, i hope it continues) of leading the offense. Defensively they are led by MLB Travis Tolley(5'10 215) who is a monster, he is always around the football and i honestly think he'll be playing at William & Mary next year, very smart guy who works extremely hard in the weightroom. I want to say Liberty has 6 guys who start on both sides but coach watts subs a lot and keeps guys fresh although at this point in the season everyone is conditioned enough so we may not see a whole lot of subbing. This is a basic look at the team, left out a few guys but i think its sufficient and i don't think i've given anything away. I don't think i'll be able to make it to the game but if i do i'll def let you know and we can meet up...LIBERTY PRIDE!!!
  21. [ QUOTE ] now i can call the plays from the stands. ghs knew our plays before we ran them based on formation and motion. [/ QUOTE ]exactly what i'm saying..
  22. yeah it was, I don't know what he was seeing.. the guy wasn't even close to being in bounds.
  23. Ok, thanks rules, haven't been home in a while.
