Just heard some sad news that the Spartans may be without a key offensive and defensive player(not gonna disclose who it is). If this is the case I may change my prediction to 28-17 in favor of the Waves.
Too many teams make it. I still think 6 is the sweet spot. Top 2 get a bye in week one. 8 teams is too much. But, something had to be done regarding improving the system. You can see above, G. Wythe in 2004 is the perfect example. A 9-1 regular season record and 7 shutouts, only scored on in 3 games. Examples like this are when it's pretty clear something had to be done, but I think they went too far. 6 teams in the playoffs would have been ideal.
There was a premium on winning district back then though....now everyone gets one so nobody gets their feeling hurt
I watched my Blues last night into 3rd Q. Then turned over to watch Blackman HS when their game started. Gosh the feed wasn't clear and didn't have audio of game, so I then switched over and watched Narrows/Holston. Their feed was actually clearing.
It was a back and forth game, evenly matched, I thought. The Holston announcers had a different take on the penalties called. After 2 penalties put Narrows down in the red zone, one announcer stated "there will be no free haircuts tomorrow for the officiating crew in Damascus." Couldn't help but laugh.
Accidently, cut off feed of game, didn't sign back on and so didn't know outcome until this morning.
So Holston complaining about refs and narrows doing the same....hmmmm sounds about par for the course
The Loris Lions were scheduled to play South Columbus of Tabor City, NC yesterday in Loris home game. Rescheduled for tonight at 6:30 due to flooding. Now game is cancelled.
Tip drill on a hail Mary on the last play of the game with the TD. 2 Pt conversion from 8 yards out for the win. Not often you Winn 11 on 16 on the road.
