  1. We have been on cruise control, no doubt about that. Though I do think Mance and his staff will keep them from coming out flat. They just have to keep coming out every week and do what they do best. The difference between this year and last is we have had a close call this year. We didn't have that last year until the playoffs. That will pay divedends later on.
  2. Everybody thought the same thing last year too.
  3. If it ended today, Thomas Walker would travel to Radford first round........what a drive.
  4. Hey guys. If you haven't checked it out yet, you need to come to the Farmers Daughter Cornmaze tomorrow or next weekend. This place is a blast. For $10, you get unlimited admission to the Cornmaze and get to go through the Haunted Farmhouse. I happen to be an actor in the farmhouse. It's worth the money. They have all sorts of things for everyone. Here is the website if you need directions or any other info. Come on out guys!!! http://farmersdaughtermaze.vpweb.com/
  5. The Super 7 1. George Wythe (5)******* 7-0 2. Richlands****************** 8-0 3. Clintwood****************** 5-2 4. Rural Retreat************* 6-1 5. Gate City******************* 4-3 6. J.I. Burton***************** 6-1 7. Honaker******************** 6-1 First-place votes in parenthesis Others receiving votes: Sullivan East The Predictions No. 1 George Wythe at Patrick Henry Last meeting: George Wythe 49, Patrick Henry 6 (Oct. 15, 2010 in Wytheville, Va.) George Wythe is a juggernaut. The Maroons ran their winning streak against Hogoheegee District foes to 27 games after dismantling Chilhowie, 56-10, last Friday. … Head coach H.S Ingo’s team is averaging a gaudy 44 points per game. … Just two of GW’s seven wins have come against teams with a winning record. That means the Maroons’ reserves have seen plenty of playing time. … Patrick Henry is just 1-6 and will not offer much of a threat to the district’s elite. Prediction: George Wythe 60, Patrick Henry 15 Abingdon at No. 2 Richlands Last meeting: Richlands 43, Abingdon 14 (Sept. 17, 2010 in Abingdon, Va.) With a balanced offense and physical defense, Richlands has methodically chopped through eight straight foes. Over the past four games, the Blues have averaged 47 points. …. After being slowed by an early-season knee injury, running back Devon Johnson has rushed for at least 111 yards in six straight games. … This will be the regular season home finale for Richlands, which has the only winning record in the SWD. … Abingdon continues to play solid defense. The Falcons simply have no punch on offense without injured running back Caleb Widner. Only four players have scored for the Falcons. … With his four field goals and booming punts, Mitchell Ludwig may be the top weapon for AHS. … Richlands rushed for just 76 yards against the Falcons last season but used a 27-point second quarter explosion to pull away. Jake Hess led AHS with 141 yards passing. …Richlands has won 36 of its past 37 SWD games, including 24 in a row. Prediction: Richlands 35, Abingdon 0 No. 3 Clintwood at Grundy Last meeting: Clintwood 40, Grundy 14 (Aug. 25, 2006 in Clintwood, Va.) After a 1-2 start that included an embarrassing loss at Grayson County, some folks might have given up on Clintwood. It was the wrong move. The Greenwave has won four straight and head coach Rick Mullins’ team is averaging 32.5 points per game during that streak. … A workmanlike effort from junior running back Gavan Meade helped Clintwood pick up an impressive 27-14 win over J.I. Burton last week. … Grundy is 5-2 and could make the Group A, Division 2 playoffs. First-year Grundy boss Jeremy Ward has done a nice coaching job, but the Golden Wave will be washed away by the Greenwave. Prediction: Clintwood 48, Grundy 16 No. 4 Rural Retreat at Holston Last meeting: Rural Retreat 40, Holston 6 (Oct. 15, 2010 in Rural Retreat, Va.) Rural Retreat sports a 6-1 record, the best start for the Indians since winning six of seven to start the 2007 season. … If you want to spot Rural Retreat running back Tyler Caudill just look for him in the end zone. He scored three touchdowns last week and now has 12 on the season. … Holston has won two straight and running back Dakota Barlow has emerged as an offensive catalyst for the Cavaliers. He’s amassed 277 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the last two games alone. … Youthful Holston is improving, but Rural Retreat has an edge in experience and the running game. Prediction: Rural Retreat 34, Holston 19 No. 5 Gate City at Union Last meeting: First meeting These teams are headed in opposite directions. … Union is falling fast, having dropped three straight after a 3-1 start. … After beginning the year with three straight losses, Gate City is on a four-game winning streak and the Blue Devils are playing as well as any team in Southwest Virginia at the moment. … Union has had trouble stopping other teams on the ground, so look for the GC trio of Seaver Elliott, Tyler Bird and Derick Miller to have a field day. Prediction: Gate City 30, Union 9 No. 6 J.I. Burton at Johnson County Last meeting: N/A J.I. Burton suffered its first loss of the season, getting dominated at the line of scrimmage and losing the time-of-possession battle in a 27-14 setback to Clintwood last week. … The good news for the Raiders is that they get a chance to get back on the winning track against one of the worst teams in Northeast Tennessee. … Johnson County been unable to stop anybody and the Longhorns have an 0-8 record as a result. … The trip back from Mountain City will be a good one for Burton as the Raiders regroup. Prediction: J.I. Burton 51, Johnson County 12 No. 7 Honaker at John Battle Last meeting: John Battle 19, Honaker 14 (Sept. 17, 2010 in Bristol, Va.) Behind 176 yards passing and two touchdown passes from Josh Blackburn, Battle posted an emotional win over the Tigers last season. Honaker actually collected 368 total yards, but Trevor Hickman delivered a game-saving tackle for Battle in the final seconds. …Battle won four of its first five games last season before enduring five straight losses where it was outscored by an average of 38-6. … Battle sophomores Carter Harlow and Josh Matney combined for 12 tackles last week against Lee. …Fourteen different players have scored touchdowns for Battle. … To halt its current three-game skid, Battle must shore up a defense which has allowed an average of 32 points and 355 yards rushing over the past three games. …That’s an enticing stat for Honaker senior running back Jerod Honaker, who needs just 94 yards to reach the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season. Ty Hall has thrown for 12 touchdowns with just three interceptions. …The Tigers face a Nov. 4 showdown at Black Diamond District rival Haysi. …It will be homecoming tonight on Battle Hill. Prediction: Honaker 28 Battle 7
  6. I actually won't be there tonight. Helping out the Farmers Daughter corn maze tonight and tomorrow night as an actor in the Haunted Cornmaze. If you aren't going to the slaughter of the birds, you should come out. Gonna be a blast!!! So I'll be getting updates through here as well.
  7. You guys aren't allowed a "fancy" entrance. :D
  8. Who wants a BDT bashing?? Here it is: "They’ll try for more tonight in a Southwest District affair with Abingdon, which at 3-4, has the second best record in the league. The John Bowles-coached Falcons (0-1 SWD) have struggled on offense, scoring 16 or less points in five straight games, but haven’t allowed more than 13 points all season. Abingdon’s lone SWD tilt this season was a 16-3 loss to Carroll County." ....Smh. They can't make it 2 sentences.
  9. Hahaha. It's all good. It usually carries a negative connotation. ie. "Falconman and his cronies sure do make a scene on swvasports.com."
  10. Noun 1. crony - a close friend who accompanies his buddies in their activities I misspelled it...haha
  11. Sure. You can ask on here or PM me. Which ever you like.
  12. Why would you ask him to hush?? Embrace him and his cronie. They liven up the board. And it's fun to argue with them.
  13. I wasn't allowed to watch WWF when I was a kid, so I watched WCW. And I can still remember vividly, the day "The Outsiders" came to play.
  14. How do you get Gate City as "down"??? Look at their losses? Richlands, Harlan County, and Sullivan South. Three powerhouse programs. No offence, but there aren't many teams in this area that could win two, let alone all three of those games. Gate City is far from down. Just wait untill the playoffs and see...
  15. Lmao, I'd heard that one, but forgotten all about it.
  16. How?? The only way is if you drop to single A ball. And you can't do that with your numbers. The Union fans. They have witnessed 7 or 8 great games. They have all come down to the wire.
  17. If anyone knows of one of the above guitars for sale or trade, I am willing to try and work something out. PM with any info.
  18. I watched it last night. So hard to see how far Hall has dropped. He was in TNA in late 09/early 10, and now this?
  19. Notice how he shyed away from answering this question.
