Anyone following the US Women's team? Ridiculous game today.

what swva lacks is whole teams of kids the same age who start playing together when they're in elementary school. abingdon had that a few years back and was competitive with the rest of the state. in 2007, they lost 1-0 to the eventual state runners-up cave spring. when you get kids who have developed chemistry through years of playing together, that's when you get a good high school team. i'm not trying to downplay the role of good coaching, but i think this is the most crucial factor in predicting success on the state level. if the kids can just about coach themselves, it's hard to screw up.

so i'm just going to guess that the bat in question did not say that on it...

i don't meet the criteria of being well-versed in the legal profession, but here's my guess: they got the hospital bill and the parents decided it was tech/greenberg's fault after all.

it's a bit overly-elaborate for my taste. i think it's probably an unhealthy tendency, and the fact that they have all this time to sit on a computer and make up scenarios just to confirm everyone's beliefs about them really says to me that they probably are spoiled rich pricks. if you guys aren't having too much fun with them, maybe banning them would be in their own best interest? you know, to help them find this "real world" everyone keeps talking about?

the quickness with which people accept this guy as (a) telling the truth and (b) being typical of the population of abingdon high school is a little disturbing. i admit, i have my fair share of issues with spoiled rich kids from abingdon, but i'll be a monkey's uncle if anything from this story actually happened. i really believe a group of people who obviously dislike you on a message board would be your last thought of where to run for support when you're not getting along with your parents.

interestingly enough, doesn't the selection committee claim that they don't take conference membership into account for their process?

great article. i would have hoped that we could all learn from bush's mistakes, but apparently our panic over rising oil prices trumps their rights to determine their own future.
