  1. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] God knows I hate to agree with a Tech fan however this kid is trouble with a capital B [bradshaw]. Maybe he can stand prosperity or the thoughts of it. [/ QUOTE ] How is Devine trouble? From everything I've heard he is a pretty humble person. He got into some trouble in high school but has worked hard to make it into college. One of the reasons he came to West Va was to get away from the people who was giving him a bad name. [/ QUOTE ] I thought i heard that he told Deion where he could go when Deion invited him to live with him and mentor him. Devine i thought was living with his girlfriend his last semester in high school and they have two kids together. I could be worng.
  2. G-man - 7 Chicken - 0 It might have been more, I lost count!
  3. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Let's go wild, wild west on this. Have Big D, G-Man, Ole Wave, Jets, the Mayor, BigBlueAlum, Tully, Lance, and a few more assorted and sundry characters meet at the OK Corral (or as it is called now the Golden Corral) and once and for all dual it out. Let them boys match dinner roll for dinner roll; beans and corn head to head, roast beef in your face, apple pie versus cherry pie. The last one left standing without puking wins! The rest of the losers have to wear their 'colors' for a week! [/ QUOTE ] Dude! I'm a shoe-in to win that...ask people that know me!!! LOL I can eat three times my body weight and then ask "what's for dinner?"!!! My wife will vouch for that... [/ QUOTE ] Well, I can only eat twice my body weight...but I probably weigh twice as much as you. lol [/ QUOTE ] Don't be so sure about that...I'm heavier than I look...and I look HEAVY... [/ QUOTE ] I will vouch for how much he can eat!!!! I was a witness in New Orleans!!! Be afraid.....be very afraid!!! lol
  4. Scott is not a test. Scott is a joke. Mavs should beat them by 30.
  5. [ QUOTE ] like i always said. "if richlands cant have an edge, they won't play".. i agree that if by some means they manage to beat bluefield... can't see how but if they do... they will be back on here in full force [/ QUOTE ] I can see how..............if they get royally screwed by the refs in that game. Been down there times when the Beavers have taken up the tailpipe badly.

  7. well there goes that chance with a nice busted coverage. acc is way weak this year, hokies, lets try for the conference championship.
  8. maybe glennon won't start next week if tt can do that against lsu. nice run, kid!!
  9. [ QUOTE ] Tonight will be a great learning experience for Taylor. Tech has nothing to lose and Taylor has everything to gain in-terms of game experience. The sad part though is that regardless of how well Taylor does tonight he won't be starting next week, Glennon will. [/ QUOTE ] i agree. i still can't believe how bad the defense is playing. nine starters returning from the nations top defense and they have grabbed at air through one and a half games so far this year. terrible tacking.
  10. [ QUOTE ] There is a God!!! [/ QUOTE ] not sure if tt can help us this game though. defense has got to be exhausted and they have a hell of a up hill battle now.
  11. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Ill say this, Poca won their 3rd state title with a QB that couldnt complete a pass (unless it was against blfd) so Cole can lead this team to a title with some help and by limiting mistakes! [/ QUOTE ] You obviously didn't see him play against James Monroe that year. Granted that wasn't exactly the best defense we ever had, but Shamblin played real well that night, Santmyer-RB and Tony Copalo-TE/WR (not sure about the spelling) played even better. No doubt Poca's missing those guys right now. [/ QUOTE ] defense can carry you a long way as well. much more then a good qb can. if blufield can keep shuting down teams on defense the way they have been so far, then they will have a chance at another state title. this win should go a long way for a confidence booster for them as well. way to go beavers!!!

  13. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] who are all the transfers for graham, bluefield, and princeton over the years??? bluefield to princeton-- kris krondon, jamie ealy, tony wallace, matt maddow bluefield to graham-- milton byard graham to bluefield-- shaun dews, will cole princeton to bluefield-- mike davis, jonathan repass, jt powell, levi beckett also, arent the Berraras kids from pikeview??? i also remember too that there was a Farris kid that transferred from graham to tazewell in '89 or '90 what other notable transfers have happened in the past???? [/ QUOTE ] "Oh, come on!!! There's got to be more transfers from Bluefield to Graham...that's the only reason Graham EVER wins a game..."...end quote of typical Bluefield fan... [/ QUOTE ] Who the hell said that and when?? [/ QUOTE ] You are obviously a "NOOB" to the board...LOL...been said HUNDREDS OF TIMES by many different posters from Bluefield anytime there is talk about how Graham is "closing the gap" on Bluefield... [/ QUOTE ] like i said before, the other sites i would waste time on at work got blocked, so this board is about all i have now! lo
  14. [ QUOTE ] they r but see the youngest one went to bluefield all his life and didnt wanna leave his freinds i thought the younger brother played qb for graham one year? i remember their cousin cory graduated from graham the same year i did from bluefield.

[/ QUOTE ] One other Bluefield to Princeton transfer was the Isabelle that was a lineman. I can't remember the specifics...think he was Raymond's younger brother. He was a 300 pound+ defensive lineman. [/ QUOTE ] William was Yubrenal's younger brother and cousin of Raymond. Wasn't there several Beaver players that transfered to Graham between 89'-90' since Graham was so good then? The infamous 6-4 Beaver win on ESPN I thought had several Beaver players on Graham's team. H.T. Matthews and his brother and cousins i thought all lived in Bluefield, VA the whole time and never went to anywhere but Graham. The Banks brothers (Billy and Brandon) lived on the WV side and never went to Beaver. Always went to Graham.
  17. [ QUOTE ] [qoute]s a student at Bluefield high school do you like that transfers are taking playing time away from other hometown players. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you completely bingo. But let me take you back a few years. JT Powell transfered over his sophomore year (the year we on states) and he didn't take over anybody s starting job that year. he was a heck of an athlete and he worked hard to get the spot he did on the next two seasons. But Cole, I agree completely agree with you, I don't think its right for him to be able to come over and just start like that. McClanahan is a better QB and ill think that until i see otherwise. Yes, will made some nice passes but nothing eric couldn't have done in that situation [/ QUOTE ] I have heard that Cole hopes to get a ship to Marshall, but unless he starts throwing the ball within ten yards of his receivers, he may not get invited to walk on there. Eric does deserve the #1 spot at QB in my opinion.
  18. I didn't know J.T. lived in Quail Valley and I haven't looked at the freshmen this year, so I didn't know about Becket. To say "their usual transfer in the backfield" sounds like you are saying that is all Beaver has ever had at Bluefield for the last 15-20 years to run the ball and that is way off from the truth. Becket is probably two years away from playing (if he has enough talent to play) and J.T. being pretty much the only other guy is not nearly sufficient enough to say that Bluefield's backfield is mostly transfers from other schools over the years. Amaker, Isabelle (Raymond and Yubrenal), Tynes, Martin, Smalls, Wilson, Purdue, & Rozzel are just some of the stars over the years for Beaver and they are all from Bluefield with the exception of Purdue who was from Bluewell. Maybe David should have gone to Montcalm.

  20. [ QUOTE ] Its funny how you guys talk about how much Princeton people talk and all I see is a bunch of Bluefield talkers on here talking their usual talk....Princeton should be down this year they sent 7 to college this past year....the only kid going to college from Bluefield is a kid that lived in Princeton....I'm not sure about Graham and their great program....and as far as Graham having a good season if they win more than 3-4 then they are playing a very weak schedule.....Bluefield look good the other night ( great speed ) and with their usual transfer in the backfield...Simons does a great job on defense, they really run to the ball well [/ QUOTE ] Princeton only sent seven kids to college last year?!?!?!? Is that out of the whole senior class or just the football team??? What usual transfers in the backfield??? Most kids transfer out of Bluefield to either Graham or Princeton to get playing time. Milton Byard was the most famous that went to Graham for his senior season the last time Graham won it all in '96 because he was stuck behind Isabelle and Tynes at Beaver. I think Donald Amaker was a freshman that year. I remember a couple of kids transfering from Princeton a couple of years ago and i thought they were both ends. No one in the backfield i can remember transfered to Bluefield in the last 10-12 years. Will Cole is the first QB to transfer in.
  21. [ QUOTE ] What were most of the penalties? I know they had a couple personal Fouls. Just mouthing off and stuff like that. But that comes with the rivalry game. Im sure after the princeton game they'll be back to normal [/ QUOTE ] Those were the most costly ones, but there were a couple of illegal blocks and a few false starts here and there were the most common i remember. I think i remember a clip on a return which is fifteen yards but still, 14 total for over a hundred yards is bad even for an opening game. Got to clean it up. Rivalry games always bring the trash talking and Bluefield has been good at doing it over the years. They just haven't been good and hiding from the refs.
  22. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Bluefield's up by like 50 games. I worry about that spread offense that Bluefield is running. Cole wasn't even close on several passes against Graham and against a d-back in the right place at the right time, he could pick it off and have six going to other way pretty easy. I don't think Bluefield wins big this year over Princeton, but i do think Bluefield outplays them most of the game. I think the Beavers will shoot themselves in the foot plenty of times and that will cost them a bunch of points. But that's just my thoughts. [/ QUOTE ] quit worring with big fred running the defense there should be no worries i like the way he changed his mind and put that quick a$$ @ nose guard he had to be in the backfield 90%of the game... if princetons center is no better then grahams i say they will be in for a long night [/ QUOTE ] There'll be worries if the Beavers are committing a bunch of penalties and turnovers that keeps the game closure then it needs to be and leave the defense out there all night.
