You're absolutely right! He plays high school ball right now with alot of D-1 schools looking to bring into the program. He has elements that d-1 schools look for: Size, arm strength, and he makes solid decisions. As a fan of SWVA football fan I certainly hope that he makes a squad at the D-1 level.

I'll give you a chance. Play hard and positive, play with heart and attitude and see what happens. Richlands is a great team. But great teams have been beaten in the past. I do think that CC will have to play a near perfect game and hope for some costly mistakes from Richlands but there's always a chance. Good Luck

Bland will win in a close game.

Its a trick play when you're beat by it but a hell of call when you use it. That call was (trick or not) a well planned and executed play that resulted in a score. Nothing more. The game was won and lost on defense. Tazewell just happened to be the team to find a way to beat the D. Tazewell won the game and braggin' rights until either the playoffs or next year. SUCK IT UP. It was a great game.

Does'nt matter if he touched it or not. In order to down the ball you must have possession. That means you pick the ball up or hold it on the ground until the ref's blow the play dead. If you get a chance to read the rule book you'll find that rule in there.

Your team played a good game and, at that moment, had the game in hand. As I recall you made a good defensive move on that play keeping #6 in tight coverage, so why open your mouth at all. I respect both teams for the effort and commitment shown this season.

Running backs from Pocy totaled 30+ yards when they were allowed to run the ball. There were tackles for loss that subtracted from that total and thats the number the press gave out. Overall there were better adjustments made by Bland by getting the ball in the hands of Willis and aloowing him to try and make plays. There were no sustained drives by either team(expected do to the field conditions).

There's a debate about whether the New Jersey numbers are valid. There was no formal submission of the record and it happened in the 50's. Therefore there's little to go with except for local news articles from the time. Either way, its a state record and one amazing acclomplishment.

Hey guys. Having witnessed both teams on the field this year(against different teams of course) I'll have to add that this will be a much closer game than most think. The key is at the line. If Bland can get the big guys on defense on track, they have potential to roll havoc with Pocy's offense. On the other hand Bland is slow of foot at the line which could negatively affect them on both sides of the ball. Pocy will have to get the offense rolling early and make Bland play catch-up. As far as wins/loses and who has this team faced or not faced, anyone who knows or has played football can attest to the fact that at any give time on any given day of any given game there is always an upset on the horizon.
