Burton undefeated versus Clintwood ,who wins..

The counter isn't had to stop as long as the backside OLB and DE are patient. Especially the DE since many are virtually unblocked when the jet sweep goes away from them. -

I've seen em both, and IMO Clintwood win both games. -
Tom wasn't overly blessed with marquee athletes...but he made marquee FOOTBALL PLAYERS out of em...the state championships attest to that.
-
Tom Turner from Appy...did more with less talent than I've seen any coach do on any level.
-
PV's had alot of classics....all 3 of the first 3 state titles they won were decided in the last 30 seconds..82 was a blocked 13 yard FG with no time left on the clock, 85 was a broken up 2 point try in the last 20 seconds to earn a 1 point win, and 89 was a TD pass with 11 seconds left....BUT the PV-Appy game from 98 was a sight to behold....that place was crazy.
-
Best game I ever witnessed was PV-Lunenburg Central in 1989....a score from each team in the last 53 seconds to decide a 1 point game. Defensive battle from whistle to whistle as well. And a state final.
-
Now that's something we can both agree on.
-
Nope...just called a spade a spade...and still, Holston vs. PH is nothing more than a sissy fight.
-
PV had 4 before either of those 2 were even out of middle school..lol..but it's fun listenin to you guys talk about all your would'ves, could'ves, and should'ves, despite the fact ya never did..lol
-
hahahahaha....guess y'all can really burn it up in a scrimmage...as for the Spartan-Viking games, if I'm not mistaken (and I'm not) PV and Giles are pretty even in wins, with both teams having a blowout or 2....I still say PH-Holston is nothing more than a sissy fight.
-
It's all good..PV will go 6-4 this year (which is a down year) and which is usually more than PH and Holston can win combined on the season..lol...Still it was a sissy fight. Just for those wondering from 01-07 Holston has won exactly 19 ball games, and PH has won 27...which totals 46 between them. In the same time frame those Vikes y'all are knockin have won 60...and those past 7 years haven't exactly been the best of times in BSG. So keep dreamin boys..even if ya do get in the playoffs, JIB or Clintwood will have their starters in before halftime if you're lucky...and by the end of the 1st quarter if you're not....haha...still say it was a sissy fight.
-
Trash talk between PH and Holston...lol...looks like this game has all the makin's of a a sissy fight IMO.
-
That's exactly how it is set up...for each "A" you get so many points for just showing up. That compensates teams for playing bigger schools if they are small...and in a way penalizes bigger schools for playing smaller schools UNLESS the smaller school has a really good record in the end. I think it's about right.
-
Hopefully that will be the case. There have been alot of SWVA teams (who are viewed as "powerhouses") scheduling cream puffs for years. Maybe this is what it takes to get em to break the cycle.
-
Actually, it's set up now to where a small school can schedule powerhouses and then win 3-4 games against teams their own size and get in on points.
-
If it's PV, it'll be at the Park.

I think it will be a replay of last year. -
Since you get the points up front just for playing a certain size school, I think it's good like it is. The rider points come for the level of the competition. For example, a D1 school can play a D3 and get the bonus just for taking the field...if they lose, they still get a point for each team the other team beats...and if they beat em, they get 2 points per win. This system is better than the previous one, and really, I think this year it put in the best teams outside of a district champ or 2. (But IMO, I think every district champ should be in...and if a team can't win their district and then they fall short on points, they had a chance and have no right to complain) But, at least now the seeding is by points.
-
Lee had their chance to get in with games against 3 of the 4 teams in the playoffs. They are better, but not good enough this year.
-
I think Giles will be making a trip to Bullitt Park in a couple weeks. Giles beat PV down last year, and have a great shot to do it again this year. But, beating PV on the road, and beating them at Bullitt park is 2 different things. Plus, PV is playing as well as they have in a couple years. I think it'll be a good game if it comes to that.
-
Jonesville was 5-5 going into the playoffs in 88 and won it all...and in 89 Appalachia did the same thing.
-
So did Twin Springs..lol...seriously

Dude, you can't talk any sense to this guy...he thinks he knows everything. Cuz really, he knows absolutely nothing about 99% of what he posts about. The reason he got booted from the LPD Forum is because when anyone posted, if it didn't meet his opinions he would argue and get personal..good riddance. It's best to do what I am from now on...ignore him and his posts.

If you ever took the time to read...you'd know that I'm not religious...It's called debating. (Maybe you. Should try it,. sometimes.) I don't care if you PM'd the Pope..it matters zilch to me. Keep livin in your dream world...I knew you were trouble way back on the LPD forum when I first registered and I had a lil debate with one of your screen names and you pretended to be a woman to get some pity. But really, it was nice of you to warn the folks here that you can dish it but ya can't take it.

Whatever you. Say. I can't hardly read. Your post. I have no clue what all that nonsense meant. And coming from a person of your character, I really don't care what your opinion of what you hope about my future brings. Drink another. You don't know me and I don't run anything. Take your pissy lil ass on home....anyways adios
