The best kids should play. Parents should want what is best for all kids, not just their own.

That was a funny post. I went to the game and was for the Gmen but I honestly thought he was clearly in the endzone and was upset that we had lost. Once any part of the ball crosses the goal line it is a touchdown and cannot be fumbled thereafter. He clearly had the ball going in per the video, but once the call is made it is final. The refs never made a call of any sort in my honest opinion. I feel bad for the Bluefield kids, but it was a great game no matter what happened. They both represented their schools well.

Popeye summed it up well. I simply meant that Bluefields program is leaps and bounds above Montcalms. If you can't win at Montcalm why would you get this position. While I do agree with the statement pertaining to the Union and how it can be "worded" to suit the hire, this is not the case in Mercer County. Now perhaps no certified teacher applied for the position, but there is already a man there that wants the job that "built" the program. Maybe Havens will do a good job. He will have roughly 3 years with talent built by another staff. Will he be successful after 2 years? I did read once where a woman lifted a 2 ton car off of her child after a car wreck. Miracles do happen. P.S. Check Havens overall record in his many years coaching at Montcalm, then tell me he is someone to be considered for the program they have at Bluefield...

AMEN, it is the union that dictates the hiring. I cannot believe that Havens would get the job. Something needs to change. He could not even win at Montcalm. The Bluefield program will diminish over the next two years. I love Bluefield Basketball and hate to see it ruined due to a union. So confused???

Thank god bigd is gone. I rarely post but that guy was a absolute headache. His pictures were BLAH and his football knowledge was bias and lacked a good foundation (perhaps that of a camera man). Yipee... on with the posts.
