I am from Va not Shelby Valley. I would like him closer to where I am. He will not leave where he is unless it is to be closer to his family. He has done a very good job where football is not to highly thought of. They really like what he has done thus far

My hole problem with that is you can only believe half of what you read and nothing what you hear. I know he has done good jobs everywhere he has been and I have never heard his players say anything bad about him. Sometimes when you stand up and do the right things you dont aleways come out ahead and I think that is what has happened to him. I am glad my son played for him and he helped him become a successful person.

My son played for him and loved him. I saw him coach for the time he played for him and the man is intense and treats all his players the same from the starters to the kids on the bench which was my son. I really believe his reutation proceeds him. I think he has a bad rap and I went to watch him coach this past yr with my son and the people there love him. I just dont get it why people believe this. I know for a fact a couple of people they have interviewed at Va high are no different than him, must be something else.

Why dont the powers to be go after saunders. If they were going to hire Chris Jones they sure would hire Saunders.

I thought Saunders applied? He is a proven winner more than any of those guys you mentioned. IMO

heard Saunders was interested. Has a very good job where he is. Would he leave to go to Va High. He is a very good coach with proven record.

When are they going to announce the new coach? Have they already hired someone or they waiting.

WOW!!!! THE legend grows. He is a great coach and person all the accolades and respect to him , his assistants and to the Richlands program.

I only know of one thing that was controversial about Saunders and when the old super left Wise they asked him to come back to Wise. I know he is very happy here at Valley. He has done things here at Valley that no one before him could do and he does not have much help.There is no controversy here and he has done none. We do not want him to leave and we think he will stay.

Saunders would be logical choice. He has turned bad programs into good ones. Would be hard for him to leave where he is. They are going to be really good next yr . Young this yr and done well. Would hate to see him leave valley

Why wont saunders go after that job?

He has won over 100 games and turned around programs that have been terrible. He is a good coach but I do not see him leaving Shelby Valley. He has a pretty good deal there. Not as tough as the Hogo but there is not anyone as tough as the Hogo.

Battle and PH would be lucky to hire someone of saunder's qualifications

Is saunders going to PH?? He will turn that program around if he does.

Without question there was no incident. The guy at the central office was mad at Saunders calling him out over something when he was principal. He is a very good coach and really fun to be around after you play for him. His home is always open to us if we need anything. He is very good to all of his players. Where he gets the bad rep is from those who do not know him.His teams are very physical and they play really hard. He has done a very good job at Shelby Valley and what he did in Wise has not even gotten close.

He resigned. He was asked to come back but the admin in the school board office at the time had not changed. We all know he had problems with 1 person in the school board office. I know last yr he was asked to take the Pound job but he said no.

I played for him there was never anything about an altercation w/ a player. Ask his former players about him do not believe what you hear. Get the facts straight. Most people here in Wise would love to have him back.

Saunders has looked into the Battle job... the other nite at his daughters game I heard him talking to another football coach about the job stating it would be closer to his wifes job.

I know Saunders is a canidate for the Battle job. That is a fact

saunders has a proven track record of turning programs around. he did it at Shelby Valley taking them to thier 1st ever playoff win.

I never heard of him ever getting fired from anywhere. Where did that come from? Ask JJ Kelly if they would like to have him back, I KNOW we would. He is a very good coach, won over 100 games. Just because you think he yells too much is just am opinon. We loved playing for him and he is a good coach
