From a law enforcement perspective, what exactly can be done? Say for instance Little Johnny is making fun of someone's weight, height, race or whatever the case may be. What can they do to put an end to it before a child takes his/her life? I'll be honest, I know schools place signs up in the hallways and tell everyone they have a "No Bullying Policy" but when it's reported to the school most of the time nothing is done.
Well, if they determine the individual(s) that were bullying him and have evidence (social media, notes, direct witnesses to the bullying, then the family will have sufficient evidence to file for a wrongful death lawsuit. There is no burden of proof under this law. Sufficient evidence to prosecute/lawsuit will be there.
I hope it's investigated, and, if bullying was the key factor, that the individual is charged with negligent homicide. That's the only way the message is going to get delivered...hold those individuals accountable and then spread the word on the repercussions. Prayers go out to the family.
Robin Dotson is probably the most well respected head coach in SWVA history and very well deserved. To take the teams he has had and to constantly win and be in post season play and chances to win state titles speaks for himself. This years team has probably required the most coaching and they are playing in the state tournament. His records shows what kind of coach he is. Nothing but well wishes for the Central Warriors and Eastside Spartans this weekend!!!!
Yes, the girls team is heavy with freshmen, with three starting every game. I think there's only one senior, but not sure. They could be playing for state championships in 2019, 2020 and 2021, but not this year!
The Tigers are averaging 87.80 points per game. They have broken the century mark in four games (2 straight). Can they keep up the pace or will the arms get tired?
Yep, that is exactly how it is still. I live just a little over an hour away from U of West GA. Those summer showers definitely bring more humidity and sticky weather, but probably not as bad as Florida.
Over on VaPreps, it's a bitch session on how far the East teams are having to travel to play at VHS. Damn, how many times have the West teams had to travel to the Eastern Shore (Hampton) or Richmond (VCU), etc, to play? A lot more than the East has had to come West! If the VHSL is not going to come up with a central location annually, like Roanoke, then alternating is the only right thing to do. The East is so pampered by VHSL.
In GA, the lower seed travels to the higher seed through the first three rounds. Semi's are played at the University of West GA (7AAAAAAA division) with the championship at Ga Tech. Other divisions play their finals at Ga Tech as well, with some divisions playing the finals at UGA.
A great coach for a long time; however, with his health, it was time to go a new direction. All great things must come to an end. I wish Tom the best and hope his health improves, but it's time to move on with Honaker baseball.
Jordan played in the O-D All-American Bowl at Kennesaw State University last Thursday. I had planned on going, since KSU is only 20-minutes from my house, but the wife had other plans for me :-). He was named the O-D special teams player of the year. I can't find anything on the outcome of the game. I really wish he picked UT, but it's great to see him going to another solid program.
Yes. Richlands hitting a lot of wide open 3's. South is just pitiful. None of these teams here are a good measuring stick for Richlands.
I believe Honaker was a true test. The only reason the Blues won was due to Anderson's foul trouble and eventually fouling out. It's like the offials were targeting him.
I like Fred. I played against him in school and played a bunch of men's tournaments in Garden, Haysi and other places with him. He has a passion for the game.
Keep Richlands High in your thoughts
