  12. Austin is my nephew. The biggest reason for the transfer was 1) Coach Harding is unsure whether he will be coaching the Tigers next Spring due to his health 2) Honaker never registered Austin w/ the National College Clearing House (NCCH) 3) Honaker did not submit him for the Commonwealth Games. Since he moved to VHS, Coach Daniels registered him w/ NCCH and he's received three calls from D-1 schools and 1 D-2 school. As a Tiger alumni, was I happy to see him transfer...No...but to see that he will be looked after for post-HS is good. I'll still be pulling for Honaker, but I want to see my nephew excel, and go on to the next level of baseball.
  13. Honaker defeats William Campbell 5-2. Austin Ray had a no-hitter through six innings. Excellent game with the score 0-0 through 5 1/2 innings before Honaker broke through with 5 in the bottom of the 6th. Let's go Tigers, win the last one!
  14. From Southwest Asia, I want to wish all of you diehard SWVA sports fans all the best this holiday season. May the New Year bring many new Championships!!!
  15. How many weeks until HS football begins...lol! I'm ready now...
  16. Home winning streak ends at Fuller Field. Time to get the round ball going. I think they should have played on Saturday IMO! It's a mute point now.
  17. Out of Lebanon. Probably Farley and some other quack!
  18. If I'm not mistaken, those announcers are not from Honaker.
  19. Any update on Honaker/Covington?
  20. I've just never seen a red Tiger in real life? Confusing... Good luck tomorrow!
  21. It's amazing what kind of psychological edge running the opening kickoff back for a touchdown gives a team. Haysi did it against Honaker and now Va High did it against Gretna. I'm going to give the early edge to Va High next week. Kiser is doing great at QB for Va High and I'd have to say, by the sound of things, Richlands didn't dominate against Graham. Who knows, but I bet it will be a good one!
  22. The only thing that Va High has in their favor right now is Austin Kiser at quarterback. He has done one hell of a job since taking over for the Cats in that position; however, he will need some help.
  23. A couple of the predicted scores may be low, but for the Honaker game, Bath County has a pretty good past in the post-season. I think it might be tight in the first half and then the Tigers wear them down and pull away in the second half. Hope I'm wrong, but a win is a win and that is needed to move on to round 2.
  24. Just my thoughts as far as the 1st round goes: Haysi over Eastside, 41-13 Galax over George Wythe, 35-11 Chilhowie over Auburn, 27-21 Clintwood over JI Burton, 42-16 Honaker over Bath Co., 31-15 Covington over Northwood, 34-18 Fort Chiswell over Rural Retreat, 47-6 Radford over Holston, 30-17
  25. I would have preferred to see Honaker beat Haysi, but in reality, the #3 seed looks a little better than the #1 seed. Not sure anyone really wants to face Galax right now. Peoples is a beast and playing on the turf at Honaker probably benefits him even more...IMO anyway. So, I'm glad Honaker doesn't have to face them in the 2nd round. However, we need to knock off Bath County first and they have a pretty good postseason track record.
