So true, always go into the game thinking you can win the game. Otherwise what's the point in even showing up and playing. Besides if the other team is looking ahead at a bigger game then the little guys may just pull an upset. Not saying either is the case for this week against GC, just always go in and play your best.

Don't know much about CC or Marion this year. I think Grundy should have a good showing this year. Probably will come down to the CC Vs Grundy game for the second spot. Last could be a 3 or 4 way tie!

Ok so we all agree that Richlands is going to win the district, but what about the rest? How does anybody else see the rest of the district shaking down?

I agree completely. Two tough games to open the season with, should build lots of character. Hope they play tough and don't quit no matter the score.

Considering GW was supposed to be rebuilding as well, they looked very good and should be posed to win another district title. The dogs didn't look good, but I won't say they were bad either. There is room for improvement and I think they were better at the end than at the beginning. Gate City is going to be pretty ticked about the humiliation they got on their home field, so Fri may be very ugly with the score but either way it's still a long season and we have plenty of room to grow and turn the Dawgs back into a contender.

I always look just to see what they say. Sometimes they are pretty funny. Roanoke is always biased to their teams anyway. My prediction is that it is going to be a good game since it is opening week and both teams will play their hearts out. Either way should be some fun to watch!

I hope that is the case. They sure aren't getting any love from the Roanoke or Bristol papers on the predicted score!

I do think that we have the capability of somewhere between 4-6 wins. Also I just saw that Chilhowie looks to be the favorite for the Hogoheegee District, so that's not a bad effort from last week at all.

Will have to wait and see for sure. I think it may be a close game and really can't say who will come out on top. But the Dawgs will rebuild with the new coach and things will get better as the season progresses. It may be a 1-9 season or could even be 0-10 but thats ok I will still be there every week supporting them and wishing them the best.

I thought so, I know 5th and 6th ride heavily on what Graham does tomorrow. Will be interesting to see who ends up traveling to Marion and Tazewell next Friday. Has been an interesting season with the 6 teams making it now.

Yeah I'm not real sure how that works either. Of course real kudos go to anyone who truly understands how the VHSL points scale is calculated.

Cave Spring has played tougher opposition as a whole. Not taking anything away from Richlands but CS is playing D4 teams which will count for more for them. I won't say impossible for Richlands to be the #1 seed but I think CS will retain their position. I could be wrong though.

Hard to say for sure but I believe if they win they will edge their way into the 6th spot.

Anybody know anything about Graham Vs CC

I think CC 35-21. It just all depends on how hard Graham plays. CC has pretty much locked up their playoff spot. Graham will be fighting tooth and nail in hopes of squeaking into the playoffs. So I think it will be hard pressed but CC prevails in the end.

I believe that it will be around a 3 TD advantage for Richlands. Grundy is not that great, but they do have some talent there. They have speed and awareness on defense but is still pretty easy to run on them. They defend the pass pretty well. Since it is at RHS I dont see there being any problems beating them.

More than likely with the top six teams making it this year, they should be in around the 5th seed even if they lose Friday. Anything is possible though depending on what Graham and Patrick Co do, althoug I don't see both of them being great to knock Grundy out of the playoffs.

The Dawgs have a great chance to win this and Grundy if they just play as hard as we know they can. It will be a tough one against the stong run Marion brings but still possible. Tough to predict a score but after all thats why the game is played. Probably be a close score one way or another, I just hope to see the Dawgs play their hearts out come Friday night.

I can say this, Richlands had better not look past Graham and take them seriously.
