  1. Graham with int returned for td xp good Gra 21 Taz 6 4:09 2nd Refs are something else here. Taylor gets his face mask stepped on after the play with no flag.
  2. Don't know if miscommunication or what but another int for Graham to wide open defenders. Graham winning simply on the field position game right now
  3. Edwards 18 yd rreception xp good Gra 14 Taz 6 10:33 2nd
  4. Clements run for 6. XP good Gra 7 Taz 6 1:39 1st
  5. Dogs came to play! Graham picked off at the 6
  6. Think was clements fumbles at the 5 and returned to the house by Alley. 2 pt run fails Taz 6 Gra 0 10:12 1st
  7. Not that don't like to just the original kickers quit the team after Ft Chiswell (story of its own there) and went until Va High that someone joined the team and started kicking XPs. He is doing well considering. He makes some he misses some and a few get blocked. We are just thrilled when he does get them just because of the situation. Punts can be blocked and don't always have the best distance so this very well could be a deciding factor.
  8. Can't remember the years exactly but there are three big players that we had transfer. Cody Parnell, Cody Lockhart and Nick Blankenship.
  9. The Johnson bunch was the big news group. I know before that we lost a few players in the 00's to Richlands.
  10. Legit question for those a bit older than me. When Mance first came, how prevalent were transfers then (to or from)? I know in my high school years they were rare. Everybody is on the win now or I'm out of here train which makes it that much harder to rebuild.

  12. Best of my research is 86 as the following two years they lost to Grundy so at best they would have shared those years. In the 90's they were losing to Richlands, Graham or both. Not sure the long history of southwest district membership so hard to be 100% sure there. Going back in my memory the schools I remember were: Tazewell, Graham, Richlands, Grundy and Carroll County. Prior to that I'm not sure
  13. Not young just no inspiration in their play. They were fired up and played their hearts out for the first half against Tazewell but then the second half ripped it out of them. Last week was further demoralizing. My connections tell me that one of the biggest problems is the assistant coaching staff.
  14. Fully support my Dogs no matter what but so glad my kids are not part of the county school system for so many reasons. Back to topic, if the Dogs come out inspired and fired up and not make mistakes, this game can be theirs. Win or lose, I hope to make it a game and they get some of the respect they should earn.
  15. Well being that it's in WV, the rules don't apply that the county school board imposed. The VHSL rules for "noise" are still in place but up to them to enforce. I can assure you that the school board will have them follow the stupid county rules as they don't want to ruffle any feathers 🙄 same reason they limited attendance during the spring season. Didnt want to be unfair to Tazewell or Richlands
  16. Only going by what I sae with VA High, they have a terrible O line but their D line is pretty good. Probably low scoring game. Would have to go with V high though as they seem to be building momentum.
  17. Could it be that OQuinn was made great by his receiver and running back last year???
  18. But I'll say this, the backups aren't practicing against that offense like primary team. Whereas Giles backups know the system well. So apples to oranges in my book. Anyway agree completely on extra points as well. Was hopeful for running clock as my Friday mornings start to early.
  19. Officially joined to be a voice on here 😁 Have been on here since a supervisor told me about it back when I started that job so it must have been fall of 03 when I first learned about it and visited. Was more of a schedule/score site at the time. Seems like it turned more towards a message board and that's when I officially signed up on it 🙂
  20. I can't speak for all schools but ours was way down before covid and got to pitiful numbers in the 10's at one point it was questionable if we had more football players or band members and both were very low numbers. The bad directors had a lot to do with that but now that we have who we do, there is stability and that number grows. Seems like everything tries to do that. I know I hear some of the same complaints from others in the area plus parents of some of our kids as well.
  21. I know I first came to this board in fall of 03 or 02 cant remember for certain, been a while. When was the board first created?
  22. But take it as it is because quite a few of those rush yards came on the end of the game on 2nd team. I can't say exact numbers but I'd venture to say about 150 yds rushing on the backups. Still good numbers by them and their opening fumbles didn't help their case at all.
  23. In today's age bands seem to be declining. Marion, one of the biggest 2A schools looked like they only had about 15 band members last week. Proud to see ours back up to the numbers it use to be. Not bragging but I think they are probably one of the better bands in all of SWVA from what I've seen over past few years.
