  1. You guys be good and take it easy. Good luck to you and your teams, the rest of the year.
  2. *****POST DELETED BY GMAN***** Don't like it, leave...won't hurt my feelings...
  3. *****post deleted by gman***** there's your freedom of speech...
  4. Not me dudes, I said that I would be pleasantly suprised if UT won. UT is not there yet, and with the loss of Justin Hunter, I just don't know what to expect now. Guess we'll wait and see. The reason I havent posted is because GMan deletes my posts. SWVA Sports Boarders feel free to bash the Sh8* out of Tenn, but prepare to have your posts deleted if you say anything about the precious Hokies. I would say more, but it will just be deleted anyway.
  5. Better not look ahead to the ACCCG, you're getting into the meat of your schedule with Arkansas State and Marshall coming up.
  6. ^This^. I think we can beat UF, but given Ut's history in the Swamp, and all the other ills that come with playing on the road in the SEC with a young team, yada, yada, yada. I'm optimistic, but realistic. Anyway, make me eat crow Big Orange, pleeeeeez.
  7. JSB has a solid defense and some playmakers on offense and special teams. A win over VHS finally this year was huge. A trip to JIB this week will be a good measuring stick.
  8. I'm as big a Tenn fan is there is. But....I also realize that this team is loaded with Freshmen and Sophomores. They are going in to one of, if not THE hardest places to play in the country. I'm not going to lie, a win will be a very pleasant suprise. I think we're headed in the right direction, but, still very young. We should be no worse that 3-1 after the first 4 games. Then. I dare say no one in the country plays a stretch of four games like : 10/8 - Georgia 10/15 - LSU 10/22 - @ Alabama 10/29 - South Carolina I said we would finish 8-4, and I'm sticking with that. Im very encouraged, but realistic.
  9. Speaking of Abingdon, who is daddy picking them to beat this week?
  10. Please quote me on what I've said about Tennessee beating Cincy.
  11. It was, I thought. Im still trying to find out who has been running their mouth about Tenn and why Tenn fans are chickensh*&. I will say this in my defense, I'm not a Peyton Manning Vols fan. I started going in the early 80's and rarely, if ever, miss a home game. Sorry this thread, which , HONEST TO GOD was started with best of intentions has turned south. I'm not going to argue, VT as I stated in the first post has been leaps and bounds ahead of UT.
  12. Agreed. Cincy was a good victory, but Saturday, we should be able to see where Tenn is at. I guess we'll find out how good VT is, well, the bowl game? Or are we gonna use Marshall or Arkansas St as the measuring stick?
  13. Well, I'll have to admit you'd be better off playing a 6 win UT team. Lord knows you cant beat the Boises', Alabamas', USCs' and the like. Go ahead, hang your hat on beating a 6 win Lane Kiffin Tenn team, win your 10-11 games against what has to be one of the top 10 easiest schedules in the nation this year and enjoy having the hell beat out of you again by a Stanford like team. What has any Tenn fan said on here? What makes Tenn fans chickensh*^? Nobody has said anything about Tenn. I havent said a word about their first two wins, I know we havent played a top notch team. I think we looked good against Cincy, but may get throttled at Florida. Speaking of being chickensh*&, I guess you'll delete this post because I said something negative about the precious hokies. Remember, like you did last year.
  14. They get ranked every year because the Lou Holtzs' and Mike Golicks' of the world go goo goo over them. Holtz said last night that they will still win 10 games and go to a BCS bowl. They wont turning the ball over 5 times a game Lou, sorry. Every kid that commits to them is a 5 star, until they lose a game. When they lose its because they cant recruit good players because of their academic standards.
  15. Still Sucks One heck of a finish though. WOW
  16. I agree that Bray is looking very good. The defense has some issues. I thought Cincy would be a "nail-biter" , and it was for a quarter. Justin Hunter and DaRick Rogers are awesome. I think being a NC contender next year may be a stretch, but I think maybe a 10 or 11 win season is very possible. There was definitely some energy at Neyland yesterday, seemed like old times. Now, a trip to the "Swamp" looms next Saturday. I really dont know what to expect, I just hope Tenn plays hard and is competitive.
  17. I think a CFB playoff would benefit VT more than most teams. They seem to me to be one of those "get on a roll" teams and then something happens during the month layoff.
  18. satisfied with for your college team. I was talking with a Hokie fan the other day and this discussion came up. Obviously we all want to be in, and win the BCS Championship. With what I as a Tenn fan with the youth and coaching changes yada, yada, yada, is about 8 wins with maybe a shocker over Florida, LSU, or Alabama, and a decent bowl game. I guess how this got brought up, and why I'm asking you guys, is yet another ACC Championship satisfying to the VT faithful. Dont get me wrong, this in no way is a post comparing conferences or anything. But VT has seemingly owned the ACC, and thats proof that they are a NC contender, but is another conf. title and a berth in the Orange or Sugar enough? Or, is a NC what it takes to satisfy VT fans. Before I get bashed, this is just a question. VT is leaps and bounds ahead of UT for the last several years, I realize that. Just friendly discussion.
  19. It's really kinda hard to tell at this point. You have GC who is 0-2, but have played two very good teams. VHS romped Abingdon last week, JSB beat them. Lee lost late to Union last week, who almost upset Richlands last night. Don't know much about Lebanon. The CMD is up for grabs this year IMO.
