Fiser finished 5th, got a takedown in the final seconds to take it to sudden victory and another takedown in sudden victory for the win. Mcnutt lost by 1 and finished 8th. Looking like Grundy will finish in the 25th to 30th range when all is said and done. What makes that even more imressive is Grundy didnt have anyone wrestling in 4 of the 14 weight classes.
Mcnutt lost and will wrestle for 7th. Fiser also lost and will need to win his next two matches to place 3rd and earn ALL American. Looks like as of right now (which is middle of the semi's) Grundy is tied for 24th in points.
Fiser won his quarter finals match in overtime and will wrestle the #1 seed in the semi finals later today. Mcnutt lost to the #2 seed this morning in the Quarter finals by fall and will need to win his next match to place in the top 8. Belcher lost his match this morning by 1 point to end his tournement 2 matches shy of placing top 8. Top 3 placers in each weight earns all american honors.
There cannot be a tie if he is up 1 and you both have 2 different picks. He goes 2-0 and wins by 3; he goes 1-1 and he wins by 1; he goes 0-2 and you win by 1. This assumes no ties, in which no one wins.
I went Pitt, Philly, Indy, San Fran, Green Bay, Dallas....so we have 2 different picks....philly/wash and Green Bay/Seattle. I have to win both games that we picked differently to have a chance.
So I'm 4-2 so far in the finals....picked final score total of Richlands game at 52. I missed Blacksburg (congrats to them, though!) and Dinwiddie. Gwave, if you're out there....let me know how you're doing!
went 3-3 in the finals, missed Dinwiddie, Blacksburg and Oscar smith. Also went 52 for a final score lol Went Pit, Was, Ind, Sf, Sea and dal in the NFL... I think I'm up 1 going into the nfl
Grundy played Powell Valley 2001 at Grundy and 2002 at PV
As far as playing tough competition Graham played up for years and played schools much bigger than them in the process. I happen to believe they were dodging PV, as were Grundy and Gate City but that's just my personal belief and that will never change. But that's beside the point, Graham played larger schools in district AND went out of district to face larger top notch competition.
I miss going to a game and not having to ask where that kid played at last year. Although I've only been to a Richlands game in recent years back home..............
Grundy and Hurley's field conditions are solely on upkeep. Plenty of other schools in the area that get as much if not more use out of their fields and don't look as bad as Nelson Memorial and The Cliff at seasons end.
False.. drainage is the issue at Grundy for sure. I've seen Plymal spend hours a day working on that field to keep it maintained during season. Some years the field doesn't look bad at all near the end of the season but if its a wet fall there's really nothing anyone can do to keep it in good condition.
