This is true, they just handed the job to Doug bc the team had already started 2-a-days that year. What they shouldve done was let Marrs coach the first year after Carlock's death (r.i.p) and after that first year Graham shouldve put in job interviews for a Head coach. As for Doug's attitude, it's horrible, he thinks his s**t don't stink and he thinks that he is better than everybody. This is why i don't like the Marrs', because they think they are better than everybody. As for coaching, Doug doesn't kno what he is doing, for example 3 years ago my nephew played on Graham's JV team as a Freshman, they beat everyone and almost went undefeated, they beat Richlands and everyone except Bluefield. Now hes on the Varsity team and they are losing to everyone, you can't tell me thats not coaching problems, Because Greg Mance is sure doing a hell of a job with those boys down in Richlands even though they lose in JV

Doug Marrs is foucising only on his son and his nephew's sake, he doesn't care what anyone else does as long as they get the playing time so he can make them a highlight tape for colleges. This is horrible and ive said it before that nothing will get any better until Marrs is gone. He has no respect for any of the other coaches and thinks his s%%%t don't stink. Thats why he brings in ex-players as coaches, because he can walk all over them and they think they owe him something, Graham needs to do something about Marrs or this is going to be a longgggg..... Future for Graham. I hate seeing this happen to what Carlock built up over the years, and its funny that one man can destroy all that in such a short time. Well Graham is completly horrible this year, How long until Bluefield,Va relizes that the problem is Doug Marrs and boots him to the curb then Graham High School football will have down years. But anyways im taking Cave Spring- 35 Graham-6

Well I said it once and ill say it again, graham high school football has become a joke, if I wanted to watch grahams jv team play I'd wait until monday, and the strong arm of the marrs boy you talk about? Well it took the other team to the end zone twice, yes graham had like 2 or 3 decent plays but wait until they face a team with speed, because we all know speed kills and its gonna put a dagger through the heart of the g-men, congrats to GW having showed up to play, but the only thing that kept graham in that game is GW's jv team

Oh yes everyone will be suprised, suprised at how down hill graham football has gone. Mark my words, graham will not make playoffs this year, and yes the 28th will show everyone just how pathetic grahams defense is, I've got a grand that says bluefield beats graham and another grand that says they won't make playoffs either, oh wait I'm sorry I forgot they have the ever talented marrs duo! We are talking about the Graham G-men right? Ok I saw a running back break through a gang tackle from graham's defense, and I saw 3 diffrent qb's take 2 steps back and lob the ball for touchdowns, graham moved the ball decently I will give them that, but don't say david marrs has a great arm, the only passes he threw that had any yardage were screen passes and the others were in the dirt. Grahams running game will be ok, but the passing game isn't there and the defense needs to step up a whole lot before the 28th. Graham did decent against George Wythe that looked equilevant to Grundy and the other teams they beat played 3 games in a row while graham rested, don't put your money on those g-boys just yet fellas

this is coming from Torren "too cool to catch the ball" Byrd. Worry about your hands and not what people say about how disappointing your season really will be. You'll find that out soon enough

Doug wouldn't know how to run the spread, Graham's best bet is to send ole' Marrs packin and put Litz as head coach. IMO Doug isn't a very good coach and seems to favor some kids, but that is my opinon and thats all i've got to say about that

lol the lineman situation is correct, dave "the super-punter" marrs will also be playing qb handing off to........well not really anyone because he will get smashed before he can hand off thanks to "ALL STATE" center and cousin alex marrs. and LB 31 u have done nothing on the football field that has ever impressed me and if Doug is taking you to all this D-1 school camps then he is blowing your head way out of proportion. Once again goodluck to the G-men but its going to be a verrrrrrrrrrry long season.

Pal, you may have a little enthuasiam right now but wait until august rolls around and u have no linemen that can block and ur getting pounded in the mouth eating every word u just wrote. Does it matter now? Even if Harris came back to play at Graham this year it wouldn't matter. Graham has no talent at any position

Graham will never see the days of 60-70 players coming out for football, i hate to say this but Graham High School football is dead, and i believe that if Glenn Carlock were still around that the numbers of players would have never decreased. When even your coaches don't want to be in the program then its hard to get kids to play for you.

Ok well lets think about this for a second. Tony Barreras was a guard that everyone saw making the blocks and pancaking people almost every play, to be a pulling guard and running the entire play knocking people down is a pretty big feat, Alex Marrs snaps the ball stands straight up and gets put on his butt almost every play. To say that he is the best in the district in any position is the most obsurd statement ive ever heard. No one on Graham's entire team is All-Region Material let alone All-State ESPECIALLY ALEX MARRS. I'm sorry but he is just horrible and i have nothing against the G-men or the Marrs' but i hate seeing a kid (who's father is the coach which makes it fishy) getting an award he clearly doesn't deserve. That award could be given to someone who has truely worked for it and who truely deserves it.

Do you think he deserved that?? I don't! Hell i don't even think he should've made The All-SWD team either but i guess daddy has a little something to do with that......

I'll give you Carper and Barreras but Marrs and Skyler Bunker? Come on, be serious. Alex Marrs got blown off of the ball every down this year except for when Graham played Grundy but i have a 4 yrs daughter here that could do that (no offense to Grundy). I'd say that the best thing Graham has coming back next season is Barreras and thats it.

True. But the coaches put the players in the position to make the right plays and the coaching staff hasn't done that. Doug Marrs has 5 very predicitable plays. He doesn't train his players in any way, he just makes them lift and lift and lift and yes they do get bigger (not like the old Graham teams) but they get bigger with NO speed. Thats why teams like Bluefield and Richlands and teams that have athletes kill graham. Yes Grahams players have the talent but they have no coaching. Thats what it comes down to. The players aren't taught that mentally tough attitude that past Graham teams have had.
