I'm going to say it like this. If Hurley Stops the Power run of Galax this could very well be a sleeper game worth watching. Hurley held a PM offense to 75 yards (40 of them came on PM's final drive) that featured two 1200 yard rushers.
Is Union JIB's only loss this season? If so, what was the score?
And what is the likelihood of Hurley and TV's final ranking? They play this Friday, so I'm curious as to how much effect the outcome would be in the final rankings for the winner.
Just found it. The Clinch Valley District consisted of Honaker, Lebanon, Castlewood, St. Paul, Twin Springs, Pocahontas, Whitewood, Garden, Hurley, Council (which didn't field a football team those years) and Haysi.
There was a clinch valley district. Hurley was in it in the mid 70's. I know because it was in my moms yearbook. Had St Paul and Pocahontas both in it.
The entire county population is around 6700 people, so you really cant say they're beating up on the little guys. No matter their schedule strength its wonderful to see this!
Back when Teddy Cooper (RIP) was the PA anouncer for Hurley. Didnt matter Hurley was quite terrible during those years he made the games worth going to. My favorite was when someone from Hurley broke off a long run he would say "watch him run like a deer"
No foundation to my claim? In the last 7 meetings (which vt has won) the average score is vt 32 UVA 11 that's my basis. UVA hasnt faired well at all against tech in the last 10 years (9-1 vt advantage). The last two seasons tech has outscored UVA 79-20 Which is vt 39 UVA 10(average score). My friend I had plenty of foundation in my prediction. If you want to double check my math here is a complete list of scores from which I came up with my "foundation".
VT 24 UVA 10
VT 52 UVA 14
VT 17 UVA 0
VT 33 UVA 21
VT 17 UVA 14
VT 42 UVA 13
VT 37 UVA 7
VT 38 UVA 0 Saturday's game
Now, ppl base predictions on what a team has done/accomplished in a season or series with a team. Anything else I need to explain?
